Wow, you dance like a pixie...so light on your feet. It's especially lovely the way you lift out of your pointe shoes. Your echappes are fabulous.
Your left foot appears to be putting the weight on the fifth (pinky toe), rather than the first and second toes. A toe spacer between the first and second toes can help. However, this could simply be because the box is losing its support because of wear and tear and a new pair of toe shoes might be in order.
hm for me, you've got some skills.. just brush it up a little. but overall very good echappes. for other rude ballerinas.. well idk why most 'ballerinas' in youtube are very rude. none in my class is rude. we support each other by giving nice comments and constructive criticism. and there IS a line between constructive criticism and plain mean. these rude so-called-ballerinas in youtube certainly have to know how to relax lol and you should'nt have stopped ballet!
you are really really good for a beginner, I'm part of a dance team and I am going to do pre-pointe in 2 years. I really love pointe- and you were the first video I watched and made me want to do pointe even more :) great job!
great job! ummm the shank looks a little bit long tho): and make sure in you eschappes that you put your heels down in fifth and you get over your box just a little more...otherwise great!!!
I don't know why you were being so defensive in your description of the video. I thought you were great, better than a lot of the amateur videos I've seen put up here.
You're doing quite well, make no mistake. This film has no soundtrack, no music at all. But maybe it's best to let your dance speak for itself.
You're certainly progressing. Take heart, you will be good enough to walk with the Gods soon. --With Love, Dane Youssef
uhh im no ballet pointe shoes expert but i was randomly watcing ballet vids and i found a video for breaking in those shoes. its was like a physio dance person teaching you how to do it so be sure to check it out and if they're new they'll probably be stiff and you can break them in but if you dont then it will really streanthen your feet. ;)
hey, i tink u hv bend ur pointe shoes way too much. it's too soft n it ll hurt ur leg cuz it wun b able to support ur weight. im alr doing pointes n im vry careful abt e flexibility of my pointe shoes. otherwise, it's rather incredible - ur speed n evryting. well done.

they are dead pointe shoes and it might not be the best idea to dance in dead pointe shoes i would consider a new pair and i know your aware that they are dead but still
Something that I noticed (I could be wrong) is that you seem to be holding on to something, pulling yourself up once in a while sinds it looks like you are on the shoe, balanced, standing still yet you arn't standing on it straight.
Other than that, not bad, I've been doing pointe myself for abou 4 months, and my shoes have already diedXD
Oh and never 'just mess around' its not good if you don't do it seriously every time you stand on point. (teachers words)
C'est bien mais ça serait encore mieux si on pouvait voir tout ton corps ! Parce que là à un moment on voit ta jambe de travers, tu dois donc certainement te tenir à une table ...

Lol, kind of hard to go en pointe without pointe shoes don't you think? ;) Well that's cool anyway, and I'm sure you've started by now, because you wrote this a month ago. Hope it's going well!
It's okay, I thought that I was going to have started by now too, and I haven't. :( But I think I'll be able to maybe during the summer. I hope. I know I will for sure sometime, at some point, someday, so that gives me hope. lol. :) Try and stay hopeful!
god i want pointe shoes so bad!!!!!! im not allowed to go ballet :( even though i can go on tip toes for ages without it hurting ( i know your not ment to, and im shore ill get some bad replys on this) but, ive allways been able to do it. x x chloe x x
wow, you have beautiful feet! i just got my first pointe shoes and i am dying to put them on and break them in, but i have to wait for my teacher's ok. i am truly jealous of your feet! i found out that my feet are kind of hard to fit; i'm flat-footed, my foot is compressible, and my second toe is bigger than my big toe.
I am extremely flat-footed too! Its like having duck feet, but without the webbing!! I have been taking ballet for years, but my mom absolutely will not let me go on to pointe!!! I think it's ridiculous, because I've always (like ever since I was able to walk) had a knack for naturally going up on my toes, but she's convinced I'll break my ankle because I'm flat footed (which is what the dance teacher lady told her.) UUUUGGGHHHHH!!!! I totally know how you feel.
WOW!!! Your really good. I go to Peabody Preparetry and I am getting pointe shoes very soon but do you use a theraband or something to strenthen up or ankles? Mine are very strong but my left ankle doesn't go as far forward as I would like it too. help?
well i decided that i wanted to learn how to pointe dance, so i bought the shoes, had private lessons from my ballet teacher and im now a minor, so it is possible if you can dance!!
princess, i have to agree with EveryClichex! U JUST DONT BUY POINTE SHOES!!!! Your teacher has to tell you your ready! If you just buy pointe shoes you can end up hurting yourself! I am 11 and i got my pointe shoes in June. I have take 4 years. 1 years when i was 3. Then a year when i was 8, 9, and 10. This is my fifth year, and even i know that you just dont BUY pointe shoes! JEEPERS KREEPERS!
to all of those who asked how long it takes to get on pointe - its whenever you feel you are ready, just buy them and learn! i started when i was 12 but by then i was already grade 6 in ballet so my teacher though i could handle it! and no, it doesnt hurt if you have the right size shoes, know how to use pointes properly and warm up your feet!!!!
you look good for a first timer, just watch your arches! have you broken in your shoes yet?
"its whenever you feel you are ready, just buy them and learn!" SRLSY?! please please please do not listen to her. pointe shoes are not something to mess around with and definitely not something you just go out and buy whenever you feel like it! You must train in ballet for years, and then only when your instructor thinks your strong enough and adivises you to go get fitted, then you should go get them.
very nicee, i've been doing ballet for 10 years now and im still on my soft blocks, i cant wait to get on pointe you made it look very nicee and after watching that i really cant wait! :D
News flash, you dont need to have defined calf muscles to be a good dancer, and your rude comment was so unnecessary. She has much talent and has worked hard for it. Yes of course there are better dancers out there....they're called PROFESSIONALS. So why don't you get over yourself.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well being honest is better then being a liar
you need muscles
to be able to do anything in ballet
It looks retarded when someone has no muscle at all when they are dancing. But why the fuck would you ever show off your point shoes on youtube? so you can have people that have no clue in ballet can watch her dance around just showing her feet. and yes there are PROFESSIONALS and they are modest about there work. Then showing it off on youtube. that is just really stupid.
honesty is definately better than lying.....but its not a lie when people say she's doing very well. And if you were a dancer than you would know that we work on INNER muscle, you dont necessarily have to have a bulging calf to have good muscle. and she's not showing off, she's just looking for consrtuctive critisicm and thoughts. Thats it.
Wow, you're an incredible tool. There is NOTHING wrong with people putting videos of themselves dancing on youtube. It's sometimes called "just for fun". There is NOTHING wrong with a dancer not having defined calf muscles. Oh, and being honest doesn't mean you have the right to be so damn rude. Stop taking out your anger on someone who clearly doesn't deserve it, and pull the stick out of your ass.
it looks like your holding on to something

Don't pop your heals when you plie, otherwise you'll develop tendinitis.
dancingal88 2 years ago
can you explain that? i already have tendonitis.. and my big toe gets stuck when i pointe my toes :(

Tendinitis is caused by the lack of elasticity in the tendon. "popping" the heel off the floor during plies and jumps shortens the tendon and hinders that elasticity. That is why you should always make sure your heels are firmly planted on the ground during those plies and jumps.

UUUUGGGHHHHH!!!! I totally know how you feel.

xEveryClichex 3 years ago
heyy! what type of pointe shoes are these! they look absolutly beautiful on your feet! great artches!!
haily888 3 years ago
princess, i have to agree with EveryClichex! JEEPERS KREEPERS!
dancerbaby121 3 years ago
to all of those who asked how long it takes to get on pointe - its whenever you feel you are ready, just buy them and learn! i started when i was 12 but by then i was already grade 6 in ballet so my teacher though i could handle it! and no, it doesnt hurt if you have the right size shoes, know how to use pointes properly and warm up your feet!!!!
you look good for a first timer, just watch your arches! have you broken in your shoes yet?
pincessxEx 3 years ago
"its whenever you feel you are ready, just buy them and learn!" SRLSY?! please please please do not listen to her. pointe shoes are not something to mess around with and definitely not something you just go out and buy whenever you feel like it! You must train in ballet for years, and then only when your instructor thinks your strong enough and adivises you to go get fitted, then you should go get them.
xEveryClichex 3 years ago
p.s. first timer?? honey, did you watch the video? my shoes are practically dead. I've probably been dancing for longer than you've been alive...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
You don't even have calf muscle
that means that you are not at all working hard enough
and your showing off is really stupid
because there are allot better ballet dancers out there that can dance way better then you
so go and work harder
because you need it.
Gigicat94 3 years ago
News flash, you dont need to have defined calf muscles to be a good dancer, and your rude comment was so unnecessary. She has much talent and has worked hard for it. Yes of course there are better dancers out there....they're called PROFESSIONALS. So why don't you get over yourself.
jande511 3 years ago

well being honest is better then being a liar
you need muscles
to be able to do anything in ballet
It looks retarded when someone has no muscle at all when they are dancing. But why the fuck would you ever show off your point shoes on youtube? so you can have people that have no clue in ballet can watch her dance around just showing her feet. and yes there are PROFESSIONALS and they are modest about there work. Then showing it off on youtube. that is just really stupid.
Gigicat94 3 years ago
honesty is definately better than lying.....but its not a lie when people say she's doing very well. And if you were a dancer than you would know that we work on INNER muscle, you dont necessarily have to have a bulging calf to have good muscle. and she's not showing off, she's just looking for consrtuctive critisicm and thoughts. Thats it.
jande511 3 years ago
Wow, you're an incredible tool. There is NOTHING wrong with people putting videos of themselves dancing on youtube. It's sometimes called "just for fun". There is NOTHING wrong with a dancer not having defined calf muscles. Oh, and being honest doesn't mean you have the right to be so damn rude. Stop taking out your anger on someone who clearly doesn't deserve it, and pull the stick out of your ass.
