Doo wop did begin in the U.S. it was and still is exclusively an American music Phenomenon. It started way back in the 40s in america. The British Mimiced it sometimes badly, but in some cases they did some good'uns covers and origionals.

There were Other Doowoppers from the UK in the 50's and 60's The Southlanders 45s 1954-60 Neville Taylor and the Cutters 45s 1958-59.The Five Dallas Boys from my home town Leicester 45s 1957-61 The mudlarks,1958-62 colin Hicks and the Cabin Boys 1957-60,The Viscounts 1960-? I love all Doo wop...
