Actually I've noticed a steady increase in algae over the years. Back in the sixties the river was clean and clear. I can see the algae being kicked up in your video. These developers are a curse to our beautiful state and will ruin it in the end I am afraid. I do like to gar through. I used to catch them with a steel leader on my line. They run on top of the water when caught.
I'm not sure. There is a very nice park in the area called KP Hole (where we launched) and you can't fish there. But up and down the river I don't see why not. You should probably check their website. I'm sure they'd know the rules.
@Jarlitz haha cool the funny thing is i just got back from frog gigging at 11:30. didn't get any frogs but gigged about a 30 inch gar like the ones in the video about 2 feet from the bank. i might post a video of it!

How did they let you get that close to the spring area.

It was a drift dive down rainbow river in Dunellen, FL. The springs were small so you couldn't crawl into them so it's safe for the general public.

dont u love how every other Floridian doesn't know what dunneleon is (most of them at least)
probably one of the prettiest places in the states in my opinion

Dunneleon is a town by Rainbow Springs I go there about once every month to go diving and fishing on Rainbow.
