  • @skrogos : It's Gnossienne No 1, and thanks for the comment!

  • !!!

  • BEAU

  • Could this be his best work? I think so, but that's just me.

  • definitely his best work.

  • very nice! I love both Satie and this text by Duras.

have you heard Robert de Leeuw's interpretation of the Gnossiennes? I cannot hear anyone else's. They may seem a little slow if you're used to this fast tempo, but I think it suits them better.

  • merci, j'aime beaucoup la musique d'Erik Satie, et 'Trois Gymnopédies' en particulaire, nick (excuse my bad french!)

  • Awesome ! Thank you very much Cockeyedcharlie ! Excellent work ! Congrats !

It's a pity there are some grammatical mistakes, but it doesn't matter...

  • Thank you!

  • beautiful<33

  • who played this?

    it is too quick.

  • Sans égal.

    Merci.

  • trés belle... je aime ton video... merci

  • Hi Irina, this is excellent, your pictures bring out all the pathos in the music (or is it the other way around?). I think black-and-white is the only option for this music, and the word written on your arm is the word running through the score. Perhaps you know it already but there is a magnificent film by Louis Malle called Le Feu Follet which uses Satie's music over and over again. It's absolutely mesmerising--you can see two clips in my favourites. In fact I'm going to watch it again now!

  • Hey, thank you for the comment!

No I've actually never heard of that movie, but i'll check it out, it must be great,

    cheers!

  • texte de Duras, musique de Satie et beau montage avec une belle photographie : belle réussite !

  • merci!

  • you got a website like myspace?

  • yeah, me and a friend have a band together. Search for "Cockeyed artists". How 'bout you?

  • les mots et les paroles sont magnifiques.

  • It is so beautiful, I can't believe it. Your work is beautiful. And this music is my favorite piece of all time. And I love Duras' writing.

Many years back, in college, I wrote a long poem that goes with this music.

I would love to send it to you.

  • thanks again. i too adore erik saties music, and this is by far his best piece (and one of the best pianosongs ever!), and for duras, well she can surely write into my heart. I would love to read your poem, you can send it here on the youtube mail.

    cheers!

  • Beautiful, beautifu, beautiful

  • thank you thank you thank you!

  • Very very nice piano. Could I ask you, who is the author or this music? Thank you...

  • erik satie, and the song name is: gnossienne No1.

  • i like this style :D

  • thanks!

  • Beaucoup d'émotion ! Un mariage images, texte, musique particulièrement réussi ! Félicitations.

PS. juste la dernière image que j'aurais tendance à remplacer ! 5 étoiles quand même !

    Olivier

  • Very emotional video ! perfect coherence between beautifull B and W pictures, poetical text and Satie's Gnossienne.

No comment more : very great job !

Thanks a lot for this video.

PS. maybe, the last picture merit to be changed. I don't know really your choice, but I am sure this picture has an explanation : I am interested to understand its meaning.

Five "poetic stars" and added to my "favoris"

    Olivier

  • thank you very much!

Some have pointed out that the last pic shouldn't be there, i know it doesn't really go with all the others, but thats the point. It kind of gives me hope, and that's the way i feel at the end of satie's song, aswell as the end of the Duras text. So there's the explanation, hope it's good enough for you.

I also enjoyed your tribute video to satie, very soothing and beautiful pictures!

  • Thanks for your explanation, it seems that i need purchase more about Margueritte Duras.

Thanks again for enjoying my tribute to Satie.

    Olivier

  • davvero bello.. complimenti..

  • what is the name of the text??

    beautiful photos!

  • hey, thanks. the text is from the movie hiroshima mon amour.

  • so I must watch that movie *.*,thank you n.n

  • Beautiful compilation and pictures! What is the name of the album? Is it by the actual composer?

  • The composer is Erik Satie, song is called gnossienne NO 1, but this version of the song is taken from the short film "satiemania" (check it out). And thanks for the comment!

  • Thank you! I will check it out. I am looking for a good Satie album and am weary of finding a performer that doesn't play the music right, ie too slow, too fast, electronica (ick!) and such.

  • You smell!

  • les photos son magnifiques

  • merci beaucoup!

  • BRAVO !

    sublime

    utile

    poésie

  • merci merci!!

  • Beau, ....trés beau, que dire de plus ?

  • Super. Vous nous faites du bien. Améliorez-vous le son un peu, peut-être. C'est tout. Merci bien.

  • whats de pice0s name?

  • gnossienne Nr 1.

  • Nice...

  • Bacana!

  • Merci

  • beauty song, beauty words and beauty girl.

  • Pas le temps pour tout dire, c'est simplement BEAU, Dommage que la bande son ne soit aussi cristaline qu'elle le devrait être, et que sont les photos...

    5/5 MAGNIFIQUE ;)

  • Hiroshima , mon amour

  • Wonderful...with a less distorted sound track it would be magical

  • A grat moment ! Mix of picture/music/text is very nice, just same remark as "anasghost" for the last picture

  • Magnifique!

  • mmm...well, I don't know if I liked that. But I know for sure why I love Satie and why I love my language so much when I read these kind of short but poignant sentences. Thank you.

  • incroyable!

  • I fell in love with the photos and Erik Satie is incredible, the tempo here is perfect. Your sense of cutting cannot recieve enough praise. But each photo speaks for itself.

  • This is quite special, if it were my own I would be proud of it. Mais il faut peut-être plus de lenteur dans les images pour un texte de Duras.

  • You have a lot of fine work. Excellent.

  • Very nice, except for the last pic, it breaks with the aesthetic of the rest of the pics and the narrative images that are silent, like Duras' work.

    :)
