  • Thanks, this shows most of the basics. I'm a noob to Dashcode but I know a bit more with Xcode.

In Dashcode, what do I do if I want to make more pages? Like a link that says About and then goes a different page or layer with info about the app?

  • Great tutorial it helped so much, how do you make a simple game on dashcode for mobile safari?

  • I'm not a noob but when I click the run button it doesn't open the iPhone simulator it opens the dashcode simulator

  • Very informative video, I've been looking for clear info and that is hard to find. Seems like everybody is hiding something lol

  • Thanks for posting, you really cover alot in your collective videos, Looking forward to seeing more. The moving screen is a little hard to follow, but low res and/or full screen probably wouldnt show up very well.

  • @KnottyMars When I made those videos I did not have good screen capture software but I will be remaking these videos as well as releasing a training DVD, so keep watching for those!

  • I also agree with one of the above commenter. The video is a bit shaky.Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for posting

  • I have found a handy search for all web applications. I manage to get a web msn for my iphone

using ipoh(dot)blogdns(dot)com It has all the recent applications from apple in a searchable form

    for iphone.

  • Nice tutorial but to "shaky"..

you should remove the screen following option..

  • Thanks!

  • Great tutorial. Do you need the iPhone SDK for the iPhone simulater? Because when I press run it just comes up in a boring window.

  • You can get it the iphone sim from the sdk but you don't need to because dashcode has it's own simulator

  • just a note. the screen following is horrible. these videos are better at low res full screen with as little mouse movement as possible. we have to follow what your doing. good effort though.

  • Post more Dashcode tutorials dude.

  • Thanks for the tutorial on this bugzilla, this is definitely the easiest way to build simple web apps that don't require native speed. Wish there was more info about this.

  • Pretty easy start, but slow down. Don't type code and assume everyone can read it.

  • That does not make any common sence. He is using a screen recorder?

  • how to do make events

  • awesome...

  • i'm thinking of producing a game for a university module project. I have a basic understanding of lingo programming and can make simple games using macro media director. what method/ resources did you use to learn your skills ???? what kind of time scale would there be for a beginner to produce a half decent game. I have 4 months till my deadline ???? Thanks a lot

If anyone else can help me out please feel free to do so, thanks

  • Thanks, that was helpful for an utter beginner!

  • nice video ive run into alot of the same problams, the biggest one that i found was that buying macs is really expansive. lol..but dude get a new screen capture...there are some really nice ones for macs.

  • I don't mind getting negative reviews. I get them all the time, but what you said makes no sense whatsoever. It's just inane babble. What do you mean to make a video that shows you how to do everything? The tutorial shows you how to build a webapp in Dashcode. If you want a tutorial that shows something else, then watch that.

  • joebandoe,

I'm gonna make you a tutorial video on how to tell when the post you're about to make is dumb and/or lame. In part 2 I'll teach you about how to not actually post dumb things even if you are drunk.

    thanks for making tutorials bug.

  • Thank you so much...I've looked everywhere for a good video...please conntinue..Thanks
