It's tough to show the world's best simulator in 3 mins. It has over 2 dozen computers operating everything from graphics to driving. It has multiple hydraulic rams per "wheel & tire" so you actually feel the steering wheel "yank" when you hit the curb or cobblestones, etc. It is inside a building larger than a US football field. Miliatry personnel have asked to rent time in it. The talking head is not reading a script, he speaks from experience.

@Maximumpmf Please dont get me started on the Toyota brakes issue. If i recall, out of 9 reported car accidents that resulted from brake failure on a toyota manufactured vehicle, 8 of them were shown to be the fault of the drivers, either on the road, or because of poor car maintenance. as for the 9th incident, things do happen. All of this sprung from people trying to take advantage of the gas pedal issue, which was poor 3rd party parts, which, granted, should have been caught by toyota.

To my mind this video falls short in promoting the amazing device they've built. Of the 3 minutes 10 seconds length, only a tantalising 28 seconds (just 14%) of that time actually shows us what it's like inside the simulator. A lot of the video is a static 'talking head'. I'm sure most people would rather see more video from inside the car instead of someone talking (and not even looking at the camera. snaps fingers over at left side of screen - hey! look at me, please)

And people start noticing flaws (it's human nature), rather, short glimpses of the BEST SHOTS are shown to entice you.. without being too judgmental or comparing it to GT5 or Forza or another driving simulator.

yes. Inside the "pod" you are sitting in a real car, driving in a fully 3D experience, of real roads, not imagined ones. There are 12 computers for just the graphics alone. They can be programmed for anything, a rain storm, a little kid chasing a ball out in the street (in front of you), you name it. The "track" where this is, is the size of a football field.

I think Lexus is just leasing the simulator. I'm sure it's owned by a private company and used to test a bunch of other types of vehicles owned by many other companies--both military and civilian. Lexus just painted on the "Lexus" symbol to make it seem like it's theirs.
