Oh and Jesusisbetter - it wasn't camera tricks to make it close. It was very close. You can see the air wake when the plane pulls up just over the boat.

@siperdellyeer I dont think its a Martin PBM The Fuselage is not fat like the Martin PBM, and not not all PBY had the stabilizing floats. To my knowledge (which is not very well lol) the only few dozen remaining airworthy Catalinas, the majority of them are in use as aerial firefighting planes and this looks like one of them...but hey I might be wrong...lol Plus I think The Martin PBM has a Y-Tail configuration.
