Young kids don't always follow along, and I wouldn't necessarily say they are bored. People can enjoy something without having a huge smile on their faces. Anyway, two of the kids looked distracted by the cameraman, and one girl at the end did start getting into the clapping.
Yeah, the floor is probably a better place to do this activity, but I don't see anything going on that would make me exclaim, "OMG, pull your kid out of there!11!!!"
I am an early childhood educator and this does not seem like developmentally appropriate practice. These are toddlers. The one thing that like to do and MUST do is move there bodies. They love and need to explore. I use this song in my classroom also however the children are actively engaged in coloring, painting, water play, etc. Children can multi-task!...Yes even toddlers!
My God!!! do the parents of these children know that their babes are on this ridiculous video?...I would be furious...the children look so unhappy too...so what was the purpose of this display?...it should not be allowed...any person who knows of this Child care unit please contact them about it....this is terrible....

This should be a 'mat session', on their feet & joining in with all the actions spontaneously; shame on these carers! ... the toddlers look too scared to move
Parents be alerted, do spot checks if your child is in care. Tthere should be an 'Open door policy' if you aren't made welcome ask yourself - why!
You owe it to your child to provide them the best care, if you aren't able to stay home with them, please do your research!

I have been teaching preschool for 20yrs. OMG!!! that was torture. This is way we need formal training for Early Childhood Teachers.
