Ironic. How, from what I gather this is a christmas show. Celebrating the birth of christ, whereas the piece was written regarding the sorrow and and anger a man has at God, after witnessing his child die in childbirth.

Rodrigo was praying for his wife- no anger- just prayer. She could have died giving birth to a still born child. God saved his wife and they had many, many years together. It is sad that the child had died before this but her husband's prayer for her life offered so sweetly was answered.

This is what I aspire to myself. I isten to this performance and the tears start to flow. It doesn't matter who plays it--Paco or Kaori--it is one of my favorite Spanish classical pieces of all time. She plays it beautifully, and I am astounded because I know how difficult it is to play; I torture myself for hours trying to learn it. Bravo, Kaori! My only question is--how could ANYONE give this a thumbs down? It's senseless, & whoever they are, they have dead ears. She is magnificent!

@albers just a brief note of reminder, it is not a spanish guitar, it is actually an English guitar(Romanillos) playing Spanish music, you got the Japansese girl part right! So the whole thing is... A Japanese girl playing Spanish music with an English guitar.

@CNFrostXY I'm afraid Romanillos does not sound very English, does it? Jose Luis Romanillos was born in Madrid, and there he learned the carpentry craft. He migrated to UK when he was 24 y.o. so we could say that he was a full grown spaniard when he arrived England. Futhermore, he returned to Spain in 1992, where he still makes guitars, so we may not know where the where Kaori's guitar comes from, UK or SP.

Besides, the guitar is popularly known as Spanish guitar everywhere, or am I wrong?
