Amazing routine! I must agree with you all; shes an absolutely gorgeous gymnastic; yes, it is too bad she didnt get the chance back then!

I was actually 15 and living in Guatemala when all this happened; it was probably the only one time I saw my entire family watching Portocarrero at the Olympic Games in Barcelona; I've been a fan since then.

Yes, especially given what happened to Milo in BB finals, it's too bad Portocarrero didn't get a shot. She was an absolutely gorgeous gymnast with tons of flexibility and style. Very few did that compulsory beam as well as she did.

Wow! I can't believe you have a clip of hers. I'm a huge gymnastics fan from Guatemala and I've never been able to see her compete. She actually qualified tied in 8th place with Lavinia Milosovici for the Beam Finals, but Milo had a higher placing in the All-Around so Luisa became the alternate. (Milo fell in the finals, it's a shame Luisa didn't get a shot)
