Me too. Just because I provide my family with animal protein does NOT mean the animal may be slaughtered inhumanely. I refuse to purchase any meat that comes from inhumane slaughtering facilities.

Also, I NEVER buy kosher or halal meat. Animals slaughtered for jews and muslims are completely aware as their throats are cut, and as they bleed out.

I also refuse wild game, since death by having bullet and bone blasted through your lungs is NOT humane either.

No veal or foie gras, either.

I believe the farmers need to be firm with these turkeys, but that does not mean that their living conditions and handling should be simply neglected. However, some people from PETA or other similar organizations are never satisfied. They think everything done on the farms is just too rough on the turkeys or other livestock.

Chopping off the heads with an ax does makes sense to me. However, why not be sure the blade is sharp enought to get the job done in one blow? Who needs so much mess?

I eat the best beef on the planet, confident that the steers were properly stunned prior to being bled out. The same methods are used for pork and lamb. Even poultry here is electrically stunned before slaughter. I am familiar with these facilities, and have seen their painless 'killing floor' practices first hand.

The mistake people make is thinking that kicking=awareness. It doesn't.
