Yes, aluminum powder will combust at high temp, it's a primary ingredient in flash powder. I was interested in this for a rocket fuel additive; it increases the Isp of ACPC by a few percent without adding anything terribly exotic to the mix. As for the other elements included in the foil, these will also combust nicely in a thrust chamber. Good show, little fella.

That powder looks shit in all fairness, what you need is a bench grinder with at least 2000 rpm and an extractor that way you get a fine mesh powder, also you should consider adding charcoal to it and mixing to reduce oxidation of the aluminium

A paper shredder makes smaller pieces for the original shredding from foil to confetti, and a cheap rock polisher or ball mill with ball bearings put into it along with the confetti will produce a nice powder. Depending upon what size ball bearings and how much confetti you use, you can get it down to higher quality pyro powder than what is sold in the stores after 2- 10 days.

Blending it will only shred it aswell as dull the crap out of the blender blade. This is only one of the steps required to make fine aluminum powder. After its been shreaded using a blender or coffee grinder you need to run it in a ball mill for about a week. Or you could just go to a paint store and buy vary finely milled aluminum powder by the pound for allmost nothing.
