  • what a pity this was done with a cheap shitty camera

  • This video went viral on Harare

  • Still like to watch it after 4 years... Classic.!!

  • FOR ME GTR 1400

  • thanks to publish it, wonderfull!

  • Absolute pleasure to ride. Have one for two years now and runs like a charm!

  • agree, I'd like to know who sings in the final scenes

  • whats the song called?

  • Good life;great bike!

  • romantic video for an amazing bike. this song is romantic too, for support this video. so what this song?

  • Another day another fjord.

  • 240p? Really? I love your video(s), but this awful, pixelated, ultra-low resolution footage is just PAINFUL to watch. Please consider an upgrade to 1080p? It would mean a lot to us loyal viewers.

    Thanks!

  • Amazing video for an amazing bike. They are absolutely great, comfortable, reliable, smooth, quite quick and awesome handling. Just got back from a rally on the back of my dad and his BMW r 1200 rt.

  • "If you don't want a BMW R 1200 RT after watching this video, you might not be a motorcyclist..."

Really? - What about just not liking touring bikes...

  • 240P? Really? How 2001. Shooting with ten year camera phone? Please consider an upgrade for god's sake. It's awful to look at. Sweet video, otherwise!

  • How nice life would be with high incomes, no children to grow, golden sunsets and empty twisty roads to carve with pricey beemers, wouldn't it?

  • Great video.. but riding on metalic road does not justify this bike. Adventure biking needs offroad. Try africa or ladakh. And yes norway is beautiful.

  • Just picked up my R1200RT this weekend and couldn't be happier. Now if it will just cool down a little bit here in Texas so that I can actually ride without melting away!

  • Don't forget about all the rear drive failures and other QC problems that BMW is having.

  • @mikehansonrules - Is there as many rear drive failures on the R 12 Rt as the K 12Lt's?

  • @AngryFlagman K bikes seem to be the worst, BMW lies their asses off about the actual numbers of failures.

  • @mikehansonrules - I just got rid of my K1200 Lt. It seemed every other week it had problems...costly problems. Went with a 2005 R1200 Rt. Would have went with a different manufacturer. No other dealer would take my K bike in trade ( cant blame them ). Wonder if the K1600 Gtl will have all the same issues?

  • @AngryFlagman Hope the 1600 is better than the 1300, they had a lot of major engine and ABS failures plus the cost to service them is insane.

  • @mikehansonrules - You are not kidding on cost of service. So far my K 12 had- Tranny seal and slave cylinder- $2200, Front Telelever shock Used $675, 4 sets of tires at $245/tire, rear trunk latch $975, Steering damper $395, fuel ling quick disconnect $37/ unit, Left hand grip $80, 24K service $1400 with discount, Did my own canister-ectomy $0, Countless oil changes at $55 plus filter. Oh and the stereo crapped out before I traded it. Insane is right.

  • I've had the 2010 for 6 months, i think the 1200gs is very slightly better handling But the wind protection & features are great has everything and is deceptively fast, id go quicker on this everywhere then on the k1300r i traded. Would i get another one ? -probably no, i'm looking at trading back to another GS. Everyone thinks your a police bike lol but all the same it's a great bike & hard to fault -just the gs suits me better

  • seems extremely smooth on the corners with double ride even in deep bunking

  • @Stridersng1 it IS upscale and classy

  • Blimeyy i do really want one noww, great video aswell guys :)

  • Yup - nice video. This is what motorcylcing is all about - having a good time, nice bike and perfect roads, all mixed into a good experience.

  • I see myself and my lover in this film...I love it.

  • what's the title of the nice music at 2:58?? thanks

  • Great video..

  • I really doubt anyone can easily load that kind of bike on a boat. Nice piece of shit anyway

  • i' d prefer a dead horse.. than this

  • ... this bike seems like a nice compromise between sport and touring... love the video, thanks so much for posting :)

  • My bike isn't broken but BMW thinks -they may have their reasons- it can break anytime that's why they keep sendig us letters, and you're right if it was, it wouldn't get fixed no matter what I post here nor it would be if I posted anywhere else, I don't think I have complained about the (technical) service or about the people who replace the parts, A bike that expensive shouldn't have so many issues, Check ukgser or advrider or MOA, it seems others have them too. Yamahas are usually cheaper.

  • What's the title of the song at 3:41?

  • I enjoy motorcycles, and of course BMWs, but I'd prefer a convertible 3 series, Z3, or Z4 for this sort of thing. Especially for the better half. If you really love your wife or girlfriend don't risk her life riding on two wheels in the rain.

    (00[][]00)

  • @viggoM35 I have both a z4 and a bike...

  • @viggoM35 I was just thinking the same thing... apart from going on the small boat, you could do all of the things in that video in a fast 2-seater roadster, surrounded by airbags and crumple zones. Maybe I just don't get the bike thing :)

  • Japs make good bikes and so do italians, germans have great ideas ruined by greed, these beemers have too many cheap parts that fail and leave you stranded, My '07 R1200GS has had six parts recalled (one of them twice) in three years. When you complain they answer: "Machines fail". In other words "we've got your cash already, so now F.U.". Write a letter to BMW and tell them you're very dissapointed and you'll see what I'm taking about, I'll buy you the stamps.

  • @majadahonda First of all it is Japanese not japs since the latter is derogatory and disrespectful which I gather from your post is not your point. Secondly, no point whining about it here, hit a bike forum and deal with the issues on your BMW. Why would anyone write to BMW for you? LOL. I've had two BMW bikes, my 12GS had 80,000 km in 2 yrs and not one issue and my HP2 40,000 km in 4 yrs and not a single issue.

  • @sqd8r I didn't want anyone to write to BMW "for me", I'd like people to know what BMW treat its customers like, with that pourpose it's not of any use if I write them myself, I meant "see it for yourself" you're saying "Beemers are good bikes because mine/s haven't fallen apart" as if other BMW owners could benefit from your luck, "All women must be faithful because my wife doesn't cheat", You don't make Youtube rules, so I'd hit a bike forum when I please, not when you tell me to,

  • @majadahonda Actually it was a helpful hint to hit the bike forums. My point was posting it here isn't going to get your bike fixed. Didn't you say you'd buy the stamps? Seems like a request for others to write to BMW if you are buying the stamps. I've seen BMW service, and Honda, Yamaha etc. for myself. No issues for me but I know others have had them. That's why I suggested hitting a bike forum. Maybe this type of response to assistance is why you got nowhere with the dealers. :)

  • Bought a new R60/6 in '74 and rode across USA 5 times over 4 years. Got rid of it after 105K and was "bikeless" for about 25 years until Oct 21. Bought an R1100RT in Escondido and rode it back to CT. I want to sell it do it all over again! After the third day my face hurt from smiling so much. Great ride.

  • If I buy the bike, does it include a fine girl friend and tickets to Norway? ;)

  • @viggoM35

    - hahahaha tot abt it too ...

  • Great bike!

But if you want to take down the Goldwing you got to try harder!

PS: the biggest trip with a motorcycle EVER was taken on a Goldwing and lasted as long as..10 YEARS

  • BMW is not just selling a bike, they are selling a lifestyle

  • @Mr1wd

and a nice pretty girl friend in order to enjoy the bike ... LOL

  • The perfect example of "Sell the sizzle, not the steak". It's selling a lifestyle, a lifestyle we would all like to have. Fabulous ad ... and she's not bad either! :-D

  • Now I don't have to visit Norway.

  • I pick mine up in San Antonio on Thursday evening....riding back to Florida...can't wait!

  • @chippertpa

and with a nice girlfriend rite ?

  • Flat twin boxers' Beemers are extremely forgiving machines, it's difficult to describe what is like to ride Boxer, t's a real shame that problems are way too frequent on the 1200's, electronics might well be amongs the worst ever mounted on a two wheel machine, fuel pumps, ring antennas, brake discs that get bent, final drives that fall apart and probably the worst customer service on the northern hemisphere. Check the Hondas, BMWs are deceiving machines.

  • @majadahonda

u must be a jap ... and u r jealous to see how nice the bmw girl is .. LOL

  • @jantanmalaya Absolutetly true!!

  • Doesn't make me want to buy a Beemer - makes me want to ride those roads on my Connie ;-)

    Lovely video though.

  • Each manufacturer portrays their machines as the only ones that can deliver a fulfilling tour experience. BMW is up there with the best of them, but there are many brands to choose from.

  • I've been riding over 50 years and had nearly every bike EXCEPT BMW. Why? Because 1) I don't like a bike so high I have to be on my tip toes whenever I stop 2) Because I don't like riding with my leg bent in half 3) The "unique" features of the BMW make repairs VERY expensive 4) I don't consider "touring" to be going at Autobahn speeds ALL of the time.

  • WOW, this guy can ride. WOW - I want to make my RT corner like his. Great video from Norway where my bride was born. Best music. Yike this is soooo good.

  • I love my 84 r100rt, I can put a full face helmet in the krauser luggage...big old bing carbs 70hp 56ftlbs of torque...work on it myself...powder coated the wheels, has a bright blue metallic paintjob, those BMW R series bikes are special, I mean even for my old bike they make fork braces and upgraded swing arms its amazing the support they still get. But this newage RT...looks like a serious bike woudl love to ride one. but ya know...the old beemers just keep working...so...ill save the $

  • Great bikes. Poor customer service. In Europe they sell like doughnuts, and that RT is some bike if only BMW cared about their customers.

  • I ride a F800ST. I love it.

  • EXCELENTE VIDEO, NO ME CANSO DE VERLO UNA Y OTRA VEZ, ME DAN GANAS DE SALIR A UN VIAJE ASI.

GRANDIOSA MOTOCICLETA Y PRESTIGIADA MARCA, LO MAXIMO.

  • Very nice video. The bike looks like a nice machine too, but I am smitten with the Honda V4 ST1100. I haven't ridden in Europe but have been all over the USA with it and she's never let me down.

  • Wow, the final drive didn't lock up even once.

  • The bike is cool. The vid is a snoozer.

  • a vida ás vezes prega partidas, irreparáveis.....

  • I love this video and this machine. I am restoring an old Suzuki right now, but I will probably take the plunge and get a BMW within the next two years. I'm glad to see such positive responses to the BMW bikes on this site.

  • Anyone know the song?

  • @Pparker99

Jamie Cullum & Steve Isles - Falling

  • My first cruiser, love it!

  • Great video. I think I'll still stick to my R1150R, at least until I run 100,000 miles on her. then maybe the R1200RT. that said, ya gotta love those R bikes. Outstanding machines.

  • Cruisers and sportbike riders can agree on one thing, we all cant stand the douchebag twats that ride the same bikes the police ride. What an ugly peice of shit!

  • @redwingryders Bikes are for riding not just for looking at. Don't comment unless you have ridden something like this. by the sounds of it you don't posses the capacity to comprehend that there might be a world of motorcycling besides race reps and cruisers.

  • The R 1200 RT will be my next bike. If I'm going to spend $24K on a new bike, it's going to be one with 21st century technology, not 19th century. My Harley riding buds think I'm nuts, but I know quality when I see it.

  • I can't beleive that there are 10 ppl that didn't like this video, they must have been Harley lovers lol. Oh well, to each there own.....BMW's rule, best Bikes in the World

  • Anyone know the song in the beginning of the video?

  • Superb..!!!! There´s nothing in life like a winding road in front of you... only bikers know this feeling... priceless..!!!

  • Sold my Harley FLH. Bought the BMW R1200RT....love it! Great decision

  • @kevbarb64 I am proud of you, glad to hear that you left the dark side lol.

  • perfect bmw, perfect life.

  • Superb vid!! its so good to be out on the bike in countryside like that...

  • This commercial just translated y dream, someday i m gonna ride this bike with my wife

  • @ngcarson get a life, BMW's outlast and outrides anything on the road.

  • @ngcarson

i guess u must be gay riding a neon pink harley.

get a life. nothing come close to BMW.

  • I want to do the same thing with my girlfriend that my dream

  • lol, i want to buy boat and cottage now, and want to get beer front of that fireplace but with sausage, not that woman, ty.

  • my dream )

  • ride for life !

  • this amazing video can inspire many people

    1/ to buy moto

    2/ to change moto

    3/ to visit Norway

  • How bout inspire people to find such a beautiful women who likes motorcycles !

  • I don't want an RT1200 now.

But i want to go to Norway again! On my good old '91 Honda Transalp ;-)

God, how I miss that place.

  • I have a BMW 1100 RT, after over 20 years I had only classic motorcycles ... is amazing feeling riding a BMW RT..:))

  • Truly an amazing machine

  • I have an '08 Goldwing and as smooth as it is, you just don't get the "feeling" of being on a motorcycle. I don't know if it's the appeal of the bike or that this is just an amazing video, but I thinking of trading the Wing on the RT. Nuts, but therein lies the power of powerful advertising.

  • @marksamuelcohen I hear ya Mark. I have a 96 Wing and a 2004 Rune but thinking about getting the 1800 Wing. Not sure what Honda has up its sleeve for the next gen Wing but doubtful it will handle like the RT. These are really cool looking machines and from the specs it sounds like a great bike to ride. I am a bit concerned about final drive issues on the Beemers but it looks like the Wing has similar issues. Might be from the loading of having 1 swingarm. GREAT VIDEO. THX

  • @marksamuelcohen

I have to agree; I am also thinking of swapping my 04 Wing for an

RT.....it seems the BMW has the right mix of "motorcycle", comfort, and road prowess....I love it.

  • @marksamuelcohen I love your message here. It is very powerfull advertising. I have an RT and GSA from their Advertising. They got me TWICE!!!!! LOL

  • @marksamuelcohen

the goldwing is trying to be a car on 2 wheels, it just isn't the same

  • What is the name of song start in 3:37 ?

  • amazing video!

    whats the song at 0:48???????????

  • I saw the video, I got the bike! it was just that simple. I have a 2009 R1200RT and I love it! even seeing the new one(2010) I am still love mine. I have owned many bikes in over the last 30/yrs and this one is simply the best I have ever owned! Ride it and you will buy it. it"s just the simple. a long haul truck driver....

  • I bought mine 18 months ago (2008). I waited 30 years to get another bike, and boy, did I pick a good one. It's truely like flying... Can't beat the performance, ride, comfort and features. I am the luckiest guy in the world, at least that is the way I feel when I am on a ride....

  • The ad Guzzi should have made for the Norge. Can't be a coincidence BMW chose to use a red bike, of all colours!

  • I have one of these for sale. Perfect condition. All options other than stereo. Call or email me for specs and pricing.

  • My Los Angeles 2004 1150RT and I love this video!!!

  • Wow.....very classy!

  • All I can say is WOW!!........I'm in Italy w/o my R1100R....boy, does this video make me miss it...excellent job BMW.....If you don't want one of these now, you are not right....Thanks....bike, if your watching, I'll be home soon!

  • jesus. i am sooo close to selling a kindney right now and buying one of these...

  • One of the funnier comments I've seen! Let me know if it was worth it.

  • yeah, well... provided i have two of them, if i gave one away for the bike, i would still have one left to give away for the Norwegian roadtrip... wait a minute... i would be dead without them both. oh well, it will have been worth it.

  • Great Vid, BMW motorbikes are the best!!!!!!!!!

  • looks like im having such same feelings as the others... the whole grasp of the bike itself and the track is just completely awesome all together.

    nice ad by bmw.

  • they do complement each other in a nice way. don't they? i googled some of the lyrics that i could make out but no luck. i am beginning to think it might not be a released track but like some sort of sound track for the commercial only.

  • I've also been trying to track down the artist/title of the song at the end. It fits the video so perfectly.

  • @txplants I really like the video and in particular the song that starts around 3:37. After listening several times I began writing the lyrics down in order to Google them. What I eventually learned was the advertising company that created the video has a house band. So, the song was made just for the video and is not available. This was according to a post I found somewhere on the web. I have a 2006 RT and love it.

  • @mapmedic do you have the lyrics?

  • sera miiaa

  • does anybody know the name of the song/artist at 3:27? it totally rules. well, not so much as the bike.

  • sorry. i meant 3:37

  • Do you know where are more BMW Motorrad films available?

  • Nice bike,JUST A THOUGHT however before you buy one please ride an Adventure, the 1150GSA is best IMHO.

  • I watched the video and I went and bought one... off to the alps this weekend... roll on mid life crisis!

  • Great video! I want to get the RT.

  • What does climbing mountains, nearly running over sheep and talking to some guys who run the ferry has to do with a BMW!?

  • pretty much speechless

  • I saw one of these bikes yesterday 9/12/09 in Long Beach, CA. Wow! it's pretty, it's big, looks amazing and mesmerizing.

I will get one for myself!!! Definetly!!!

  • la mia es igualita, pero solo la tengo como papel tapiz.

  • where in norway is this supposed to be. Looks amazing. Id love to ride through where ever this video was recorded.

  • nice 1200

  • Next year. Yep, next year I'll update from my 2000 model R1100RT to a 2010 model R1200RT. What a superb machine...!!!

  • Why my films are not so good?! :(

  • As LeviathanRan put it, mine sentiment exactly..........

  • So, how would YOU have made this commercial to make it have more to do with riding the R1200?

  • Still love my KTM.... But the scenary is great!

  • me encanta,,, alguien me la regala???'

  • @soroful tu banco quizás, con unos pequeños intereses

  • Beautiful. Both the vid and the bike. Long live BMW.

  • Great bike, I took mine to Istanbul & Athens last summer. It got me from UK to Greece in 48 hours.

On the return journey on the last day I rode from Northern Italy via the back roads over the Alps and got home to UK in one day, awesome bike.

  • do you have to bee 18 to drive??? motporcycle ?

  • Looked for 6 mths for a 2nd hand blue one - found a minter with 2,700 dry miles. Traded my beloved Triumph!

The BM is brilliant! Love it - agile, comfy, quick.

Seriously good bike - short trips, instructing, touring - the business.

  • U can buy an rt1200 any color. Provided black. (Too "flou" 4 me in this video, too "TV spot", but trip is the really soul of this bike, that i drive every day home/job: 12 Km... But i can dream Norvey, off course1).

  • Anyone know who sings the song to the end of this video?

  • My dad bought a black one. too bad i'm still 17 :(

  • There is no better 2 cylinder touring bike on the market.

  • great vid. bmw = sweet! :)

  • It's the greatest story about motorcycle, love and north.

  • well... how is it??

  • Well, this looks like the bike I will add to my "fleet" tomorrow for my 60th birthday. Fitting too for a guy who has ridden since age 12 when my Dad bought me a Yamaha 55CC trail bike to BRIBE me into not running away anymore...Funny. It just made me discover how far & FAST you can run on a bike! Hopefully the transmission problems have been sorted out cuz here I come.

  • Lucky me! Yesterday I put my name on the paper and bougt that bike! Just can´t wait when they deliver it to me... Hope the spring is early in this year :-).

  • You are lucky. I own one. It has been 2 years now and still i enjoy riding it like i just got it last week. Safe Ride bro.

  • Lucky you indeed. Have fun. Lot of fun.

  • The perfect video for the ultimate riding experience, driving from country to country, road to road, life to life.

    Long live all motorcyclists.

    "V"

  • Definally getting myself one of these

  • Go for it! It really is that good. Specially with that special someone.

    Cheers.

  • In Australia here, police retire their bikes every year, and you can bid for one cheaply every year at a fraction of the RRP, but police versions are only single seated, and have a slightly different rear end, more thinner boxes at the sides.

  • do you know where i could get my hands on a retired cop bike?

    cheers mate

  • Someone knows the title of the song in the video? Thanks!

  • It's made by the ad agency in-house band.

  • WOW! BMW is not only creating great looking, nice motorcycles but also with this piece of advertising actualy improving the quality of human living. Just think if all products were good for us, or healthfully fun, then they were intelligintly marketed so we could taste the joy 1st befor we even tried the product. These guy are making money while there helping us attract more fullfilling joy. WIn for them, Win for us and a Win for everyones radiant good moods..ie our communities, via our vibe
