@xtom1973 That's the screen of his computer, he is using the program Renoise to make the music that you're listening, that is the footage of the program playing the music as he wrote it there. That's it.
2 years later i've seen that video... I can tell you that renoise is FUCKING AWESOME and it helped me a lot for violating the music laws. Thanks to venetian snares for the inspiration, but thanks to all the tracker users that keep it real out there!!!!! YEAAAA
Another high profile musician who used trackers during 90's and early 00's is Richard D. James. Also known as Aphex Twin. Even the most basic trackers are able to create intricate music.
@djnosleeves85 out of PURE curiosity, why would you have an APC aaand a Launchpad.....?? APC is like a Launchpad but with more options... Not being a dick, just seriously curious as to what you'd do with both... :)
Considering the french is "This is a machine for making cows", I'm confused why you're not hearing it. . .unless you're being facetious. In which case, carry on : )
seems to me like there are 16 lines per beat and 7 beats to a section. So 112 lines per section? something like that i think.
I'm guessing its in a 7/4 time signature throughout. I tried counting it out and i got lost a few times, but i think thats just me being thrown off by the accented off-beats.
The undoubted result of many years of tracking. Great attention to detail, whilst working with absurd tempo yet keeping everything as tight as a nun's noonie.
what the fuck! i have no idea what renoise is whatsoever or what is going on on the screen, but it works great as visuals!! :) and besides, it almost convinces me that he isnt a magician or a god, but actually creates his music. not sure though
The secret to Venetian Snares? I do not know who that is, or what is going on, but I am delighted that "a high-BPM song in a tracker" is worth 100,000+ views in this day and age. And here I thought nobody cared about this stuff past 1993.
Damn it, I'm going to keep commenting on this video until he stops approving my comments >:(
So, we know he uses renoise for this kind of stuff, but wtf does he do for awesome stuff like Songs about my cats or even Huge chrome cylinder box? This is one of the many mysteries of the world.
OK, my plan is to make screenshots of every pattern and then enhance the quality find out all of his secret elitist tricks, and then I have the secret to venetian snares!!!
This is absolutely one of my favorite songs. I have the cd, and the artwork on it is craaaaazy! Especially for me as a vegan, the song is about a machine... for making cows.. une machine, pour faire les vaches! WTF! It's so true though, the mechanized industry.
and who the fuck voted this less than 5 stars, it's genius :P
Good Jebus, look at how many samples/instruments he has loaded on top right hand screen o.o I thought I used a lot >_>
And metalzone is right. You can see where he places his samples on the screen. It looks intimidating but if you use renoise you'll know what to look for.
Honestly I think it's just setting the BPM to like 3,000 and then carefully orchestrating the note pitches of sample triggers. Quite simple really. But he also surely uses VST plugins to achieve gods know what.
Everything off Roscz is different tho, uses samples from a famous suite by a European composer. And Blondie I think.
jesus christ, you are way off the fucking mark... for starters, renoise, like most sequencers, will go up to 999bpm. speed adjustments can be made according to the speed level and/or lines per beat. there is no magic vst to do what v.snares does, it's all very clever sequencing and production AND a very thorough knowledge of trackers.
and the track you think blondie features on in his album 'roscz' is 'gloomy sunday.' it's not blondie, it's billie holiday.
the composer being mostly elgar i'm fairly sure. i wish more people who sample did as much to make something old into something new like snares did with that album.
Okay, I take back my previous comment. Trackers are a LOT more inspirational than your conventional interface due to simplicity. Also, why did my comment before, although wrong in retrospect, get multiple thumbs-downs?
just download the trial and use that... if you like it then it's really cheap to buy. great software. the only thing you can't do with the trial is to render sound.
VSnares is the reason I'm listening to music. I like rock in all, but that got old after a few years of listening to the same 4/4 rhythm and being able to tell what bpm it is and the key that it's in by the first note of the song. Aaron Funk is the new beginning. That's all I have to say.
you sir, Mr. Arron Funk, are my hero. I <3 ur music, and it realy makes me mad when people say "it sounds like someone just slammed on a synthisizer". My friends give me a lot for listening to your music but, its too cool not to listen to. Keep up the good work.
Does anybody know a software to improve the quality of the video?I mean it's great Aaron did this but I can't see the most interesting things(vst, etc.)
Don't try to copy the Snares Man! There can be only one! Try to come up with your own inventive stuff and don't ask anyone for help either: believe me, I've tried.
