  • Oh, that's just awesome! :)

  • paras johnny7 b ikinä

  • His guitar starts bleeding

  • Aivan mahtavaa-------et joku ?ylettyykin tällaseen suoritukseen --mestari on mestari----mailman paras rock-blues kitaristi----tässä versiossa piiiiiiiiitkä mahtava soolo------yes....

  • if you 18 and enjoy this, tell your friends to check it also. You are the ones that matter..us old time hippies need to know you youngbloods understand quality..You see, when MTV was born, corperations like NIKE, and others took control of music, they found ways to pump up there stock by backing "music" artists..they could profit more by cheapening/slashing expenses on the art, they created"rap", and other trash to keep expenses down.YOU are paying by just learning of this at 18....but good work!

  • 4:17 what is the song he plays?

  • Mother Dear. My how that ol' country boy could play.

  • @iyamhoooiyam

Yep! thats was it, hadnt seen footage of it before, thanks for that.. (Probably a drunken Sweded), also I remember the crowd going for him after he did it

  • Saw Johnny 80 times, over 30 years.I consider myself blessed to have heard his art, and everybody listening/watching this should sit their kids, grandkids, strangers kids down, plug them into this awsome artist so the disease of "quality" can spread to them, and they will puke on MTV, and RAP, not accept the trash being served to them.Show your kids...Johnny is the best there ever is, was..nobody plays like him, NOBODY

  • @ikoiko2631 I'm 18 and love Johnny Winter, only discovered him recently but wow he is amazing!!

  • he is so tall...

  • muito foda! J. winter fuckn awesome !

  • My fingers bleed just listening

  • ow my brain.

  • Never get tired of this song. I was 11 years old when I first the song on Johnny winter and album. I went from the partridge family to JW over night.

  • he might play guitar better than Chuck but his vocals are pretty bad, nothing on chucks iconic vocals!

  • No one plays Johnny B. Good Like Johnny Winter NOT EVEN Chuck Berry

  • Nobody plays this song better than CHUCK!!!!

  • Loved this guy for years. Unfortunately my last show was disappointing. Johnny like all of us is getting old. Last time I saw him in Annapolis MD, his voice was weak, and he had to sit down and play. When I want to hear him live now a days, I just play his Johnny Winter And "Live" album. It doesn't get any better than that. Johnny and his Bro Edgar are phenoms. Love them. Rock on !

  • damn johnny nailed it, gave me goosebumps, i sat in awe watchin this...

  • Sairaan hyvä..

  • Only Johnny compares to Hendrix on this song. I have Frank Marino who is a better tech master than either, but NOT close to the taste or style of either Hendrix or Winter. I just can't believe this guy as old has he was last time I saw him play and he was roasting that guitar. He fits this song perfect in every way. Go Johnny Winter GO!

  • damn!!!

    what a kick ass audience.

    thats where i wanna be.

  • MY FAAACE IS MEEEEELLLLLLTINNG!!!!!!

  • I see I need to take out six people

  • Yeah baby. Time to strip off the shirt and go to work. He was truly one a kind

  • Great improvisation, Johnny never plays the same solo twice. What a musician!

  • I remember Johnny playing the Harvest Club about 1960 in our hometown, Beaumont Texas, when we were both in Beaumont High School. I was blown away then and still marvel at his talent. Best wishes to him and Edgar from Gid Graham.

  • Gets no respect and yet can play with anybody live or dead

  • Can't get much better than this!

  • White Jimi Hendrix! Compare Jimi Hendrix version and this. This is Jimi Hendrix cover in some of the part, but J. Winter puts his own spices on the soup. :) Can´t tell which is better, but as Jimi Hendrix fan, I prefer his version :)

  • Johnny was always "light's out."

He sure could make that guitar wail.

  • i never heard of the guy, by luck i saw this.....the best blues player of all time

  • just like ringing a bell

  • I was right! He IS a white man! :)

  • its the lights.....you don´t see him much on TV or stage because of lights..but the man can rock...he just plays...doesn´t need to dance...a guitar players player

  • terrible guitar wtf r u high johnny winter slays on the g tar

  • Johnny Winter was listed 2 places lower than Joni Mitchell on the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time. Try not laughing while saying the following out loud: Joni Mitchell is a better guitarist than Johnny Winter. Have the volume up on this when you do.

  • Johnny Winter è Johnny Winter ce poco da fare

  • terrible guitar but good cover.

  • @dorzsboss I sure as hell hope you mean the guitar itself and not his playing of it.

  • He is playin' that AXE!

  • Great version of Johnny B. Goode! Johnny Winter is an incredible musician. I hope more people get a chance to see this. Have'nt seen him on T.V. yet unless I've missed his broadcast. If he hasn't been on some form of music T.V. or late night T.V. shows for interviews, then he is definitely underrated.

  • Johnny, more than any guitarist , captures the raw energy, speed and vitality of rock. At his prime he could peel the paint off the rear wall of any venue.

  • YES!

  • This song's so smoking hot Johnny's guitar should be on fire!

  • Johnny Winter is my mentor. I watched him on Don Kirshners Rock Conceert. I still have a cassette recording of him from the mid 70's. Rock on Johnny. You are still my hero!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Not too many player can whip it out like Johnny.

  • johnny winter and ......avec les anciens MAC COYS ( deux beaux rare french EP dans mon coffre )

  • Wow, I'm impressed how he rocks. Hard to believe I saw him live more than 30 years ago and I wasn't (favored Patty Smith by that time, but forgive me, I was 14 by then).

  • best cover of this song!

  • No guitar player anywhere at any time rocked the house the way Johnny did.

  • Just make a person feel good to smell

  • Happy Bday JW!!!!!

  • Frickin' unreal! Johnny is a true American treasure born 66 years ago today.

    Happy birthday!

  • JOHNNY IS GOOD ! GO GO GO JOHNNY GOOD !

  • A 5 minute solo and he never repeated the same lick, amazing. I exhaust my entire fret board vocabulary after about 30 seconds.

  • how did his band keep up with him damn

  • For all you FAT Americans, do dope, ciggies, booze and fornicate as much as you can and you get a body like Winter. Of course you won't play the guitar like him. Anyway IT'S a start. Oh, ever tried starvation?

  • This is a very goode song!!!!!!!!

  • At one time he was named as the fastest guitar player in the world :P

  • GOD!!!!

  • この頃のJohnny Winterってチョーカッコイイ!

  • @suicidedelinquent Amen!

  • Saw this guy smash the house down in melbourne mid 80,s. what a night.

  • @Mrdavlap I was there, he played 5 min. solos on every song , he was great!

  • Johnny Winter with a paddle guitar. Johnny Winter is: Gibson Firebird!!!

P.S. Maybe the paddle guitar has more weight than Johnny Winter. What has happend to him?

  • Johnny Winter with a paddle guitar. Johnny Winter is: Gibson Firebird!!!

  • I WAS THERE !

  • c exceptionnel J.W

  • 6 people are clearly retarded

  • this is absolutely the best JBG version i've ever heard, far better than everyone else from Chuck Berry to Judas Priest.

JOHNNY WINTER IS THE DEFINITIVE ELECTRIC BLUESMAN!

  • Johnny B. God

  • @quiveror Yes Yes Yes fucking yes

    !!!!!

  • is this human ?

  • What an audio not to mention the video!

  • Yes, Johnny Winter is the best, it is pointless to argue, and he is simply the best guitar player. He is awesome...........JPN YFA

  • Johnny B. Goode? More like Johnny B. Great! :)

  • The quintessential rock 'n roll song performed by the one man who perhaps most expresses rock's maniacal spirit.....this performance is the Everest of rock, no need to look further.....

  • God...

  • Johnny is like a die grinder on cast iron.Nothin' but sparks!

  • i defy any living guitarist to solo better than johnny. hes right up there with hendrix in my opinion.

  • Where was this recorded As it looks like the Bayou in Georgetown Washington D.C. if so I was there ...because I saw him do this tour back then at the Bayou ...I even performed there!

  • @HayTomHay Montruex which is in Canada. I saw JW at the bayou too. Probably saw you too. What band were you in? I was a regular at the Bayou back in the day. hardly ever missed any happenings there. Also saw JW at the Warner? theater in DC in '88 I think.

  • Absoultly Johnny is my mentor, when he has to sit down and take a rest, i will pick him up, at 54 years old i can , i will do him proud, and if it ever happens i would be honored to play with this man, damn the most underated guitarist, SRV GOD love him sorry Johnny blows the top off ya! Ive been playing fast loud and proud for 42 years, i have a stupid ganglion cyst on me left hand, i will get it cut out and i'll get on YOU TUBE and show you how its done sonnys(; Keep it a movin! • that dude could rock.....holy smokes..off the freaking charts

  • After listening to this I'm convinced now Rock And Roll is still alive and well.

  • @BBQFanNo1 It was in 26 years ago, at least.

  • Those Texas guys sure know their guitar playin',lol

  • Now this is my kind of music.

  • Best version of Johnny B Goode I ever anybody else do it next to Chuck Berry.

  • I can't believe he faded in/out of Yankee Doodle Dandy that way. I say Johnny B Winter!!!!

  • Best version ever!! Thanks for uploading!

  • You'd think Johnny B. Goode is about Johnny Winter.

  • @mti58312 Hahaha. I know,lol. Son of a gun,lol

  • John Dawson Winter is with out a doubt the best axe slinger i have ever heard, i have been playing pro for 40 years, i copped alot of his licks but he is the master, im 53 hes 66ya got SRV, GOD love him, and Clapton and The Eddie Van Halen trip but Johnny puts my big toe up in my boot fer sure! How he plays with those thumb picks i'll never know!!

  • @axeslinger56 Alvin Lee of Ten Years After is no slouch, either. Too many good guitarists to even attempt to name the best (excluding Jimi, of course)

  • best version I've ever heard

  • Clapton is God......No man is God...... But Johnny Winter comes pretty close! And I don't think Clapton would argue with it. Long live Johnny Winter!

  • GO JOHNNY GOOO!!!!

    GO WINTER GOOO!!!

  • saw him in exeter he rocks

  • I saw him about a year ago, still amazing guitarist, but health wise he's very messed up

  • That's cause he does a shit ton of drugs and also he is friggin ancient!

  • such a dirty play guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

  • who oringinaly wronte this song???

  • Chuck Berry

  • I first heard of Johnny Winter as a young man in N Irealnd .The prods liked Jimmy Page ,the Catholics liked Rory Gallagher

i thought JW outclseed both ot hem .

Now as i listen I hink I was right .Hes got a real appreciation of the blues

    WEE BELFASTMAN

  • Where's Gary Moore fit into all this then? :D

  • Did ya think he was from Greece? He was born in Texas Town of Cork County Ireland.Says so in the Bible

  • @bobo6991 That'll happen when you grow up in Beaumont, Texas.

  • @bobo6991

I saw Johnny Winter 1984 in Denmark at the Roskilde Festival. Some stupid drunk through a glass bottle of beer at him (it hit him too). He unplugged his guitar and said, pointing at the guy, "I came here to make music and you fucked it" and then walked off stage.

I couldnt have agreed with him more, needless to say the crowd set up the bottle thrower, dunno what happened to that guy?

    Winter never came back...

  • @frontman62 are you talking about this

    /watch?v=-pMwfoEX7wM

  • grande johnny winter uuu rock ´n roll!!!

  • Still Alive and Well,..

Keep on Rockin',.. Never Stop Rollin'

  • Winter is great...

listen my instrumental version for Johnny b Goode

    Chuck is master....

  • The Legend!

  • I saw Johnny less than a week ago in Helsinki. He surely could not run a marathon, but otherwise he is now in a very good shape.

  • Hoekzema, have you seen Johnnys latest interviews, hes put on weight and looks much much better than before, He is singing now and is getting much stronger. God Bless

  • he's great

  • I saw Winters 2 years ago in the Netherlands...bad news guys He isn't going to last much longer.

He didn't stand, he was seated all show long and his Drummer did the singing.

If you think he looks like a skeleton in this clip, you have to see him now.

He'll go rock'n'rollin into the grave

  • i like that drummer, :)

  • the very frist concert i ever went to was johnny winter at a small club in fitchburg mass that was back in 1980 and i have been a fan ever sence this guy can play

  • It absolutely doesn't matter who's better, they're both great musicians and had a great influence on music and therefor i appreciate 'em

  • This has got to be one of Johnny Winter's best solos with lots of little phrases thrown in. This guy plays real earthy blues- Stevie Ray Vaughn couldn't do this emotive stuff -he was more rockabilly ..

  • just people who only play air guitar can say SRV are better than Johnny.

  • waaaaaaaa aaaaaaa siiiiiiii gogogogogogogggggggggg
