@535loz if i die and go to hell this is what i want to here because alot of people call me johnney and if i die and go to heaven i want to here knockin on heavens door when im going up the stairs bob dylan version
Loved this guy for years. Unfortunately my last show was disappointing. Johnny like all of us is getting old. Last time I saw him in Annapolis MD, his voice was weak, and he had to sit down and play. When I want to hear him live now a days, I just play his Johnny Winter And "Live" album. It doesn't get any better than that. Johnny and his Bro Edgar are phenoms. Love them. Rock on !
Only Johnny compares to Hendrix on this song. I have Frank Marino who is a better tech master than either, but NOT close to the taste or style of either Hendrix or Winter. I just can't believe this guy as old has he was last time I saw him play and he was roasting that guitar. He fits this song perfect in every way. Go Johnny Winter GO!
I remember Johnny playing the Harvest Club about 1960 in our hometown, Beaumont Texas, when we were both in Beaumont High School. I was blown away then and still marvel at his talent. Best wishes to him and Edgar from Gid Graham.
White Jimi Hendrix! Compare Jimi Hendrix version and this. This is Jimi Hendrix cover in some of the part, but J. Winter puts his own spices on the soup. :) Can´t tell which is better, but as Jimi Hendrix fan, I prefer his version :)
its the lights.....you don´t see him much on TV or stage because of lights..but the man can rock...he just plays...doesn´t need to dance...a guitar players player
Johnny Winter was listed 2 places lower than Joni Mitchell on the Rolling Stone list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time. Try not laughing while saying the following out loud: Joni Mitchell is a better guitarist than Johnny Winter. Have the volume up on this when you do.
Great version of Johnny B. Goode! Johnny Winter is an incredible musician. I hope more people get a chance to see this. Have'nt seen him on T.V. yet unless I've missed his broadcast. If he hasn't been on some form of music T.V. or late night T.V. shows for interviews, then he is definitely underrated.
Johnny, more than any guitarist , captures the raw energy, speed and vitality of rock. At his prime he could peel the paint off the rear wall of any venue.
Johnny Winter is my mentor. I watched him on Don Kirshners Rock Conceert. I still have a cassette recording of him from the mid 70's. Rock on Johnny. You are still my hero!!!!!
Wow, I'm impressed how he rocks. Hard to believe I saw him live more than 30 years ago and I wasn't (favored Patty Smith by that time, but forgive me, I was 14 by then).
For all you FAT Americans, do dope, ciggies, booze and fornicate as much as you can and you get a body like Winter. Of course you won't play the guitar like him. Anyway IT'S a start. Oh, ever tried starvation?
I was just going through random songs on youtube, i see johnny, click it, innocently enough, then he goes and melts my face. well thank you very much mr winter.

the very frist concert i ever went to was johnny winter at a small club in fitchburg mass that was back in 1980 and i have been a fan ever sence this guy can play
This has got to be one of Johnny Winter's best solos with lots of little phrases thrown in. This guy plays real earthy blues- Stevie Ray Vaughn couldn't do this emotive stuff -he was more rockabilly ..
Oh, that's just awesome! :)

It absolutely doesn't matter who's better, they're both great musicians and had a great influence on music and therefor i appreciate 'em

This has got to be one of Johnny Winter's best solos with lots of little phrases thrown in. This guy plays real earthy blues- Stevie Ray Vaughn couldn't do this emotive stuff -he was more rockabilly ..

just people who only play air guitar can say SRV are better than Johnny.
