I found out Cynic from the BTBAM tour also, me and my friend had never heard of Cynic before...once they were done playing I just looked at my friend and said to him...that was so fucking weird I can't tell if it was better than BTBAM or fucking horrible...once I got home I listened to the studio albums, holy fucking shit it blew my mind away...they are tied for my favorite band since then...I got to see them again in August, got all of their autographs, really nice people
When I saw Cynic before BTBAM, I was really pumped for some intense music. But Cynic didn't do it for me. I found it a bit weird that a band like Cynic would open for BTBAM, since their music has a lot of mellow breaks. That's not to say I don't like them. They're, in fact, a really well organized band that has quite a unique sound. Traced in Air is a great album. I just wish it was longer. XD
@Cannibalcorpse55 Yeah. I saw Cynic with Opeth too. I used to be a huge Opeth fan, and then Cynic got to play a 20 minute set due to a curfew which very nearly had me in tears from the power of its beauty, and then I had to watch Mikael Akerfeldt be an arrogant asshole for the next 90 minutes. Put me off them forever.
Ha I was up in front and some dude was so into Devin Townsend and then Cynic played one song hes like fuck these guys and left... how could you pass up BTBAM and Cynic for Devin Townsend???? Cynic got so much disrespect fuck the kids at that show haha
yea wtf...i was born in america but my background isnt american but those goddamn assholes that think usa is the center of the universe need to get their heads out their asses and learn some rhythm haha
@lefthandovRA yes yes this is true philly does not represent america, but Ive seen it at shows in, CO, MO, KY, IL, WI. which also dont represent america but ive never been apart of a clap thing where enough of the ppl are on time where it doesnt fuck me up lol
Extremely off time clapping audience. You can see Sean laughing at them in the back.

Man I love Paul. Met him on a tour with Opeth. What a sick line up. Was there to see CYnic of course. They were amazing.

@GarethSTC How was he arrogant? You really can't be a huge fan, then hate them, because of HIS actions. Its all about the music!

I saw them play this the night before in New York.
Hands down the best band I've ever seen live. I had chills running down my spine the entire time. :)

devin was a good showman, and i know he had a big influence on btbam, but his playing was so linear compared to everyone else at the show.

Both Cynic and Meshuggah got a lot of disrespect at the Anaheim gig. The performance was good but the crowd sucked.

I saw them in Paris, and they brought the house down. It was an audience that appreciated Cynic's talent. They're an awesome band indeed.

another magnificent example of an American crowd fucking up rushing the clapping.
