  • i wish i was about when the longside was still up and in use, sounds soo much like a better atmosphere and a really iconic place

  • If your not a Claret you wont understand............my best memory was watching the crowd walking behind the goal towards the end on their way out.And oh the bogs ..awesome ....proper fans in a proper fans stand

  • @TheTurfmoor I understand it 100% and I miss it

  • @TheTurfmoor Exactly mate

  • nice one mate. thanks for posting. brings out loads memories from my childhood, standing in the sideways rain on the bee hole, hoping they would open the barriers so we could enjoy the 'luxury' of the longside roof! Up the clarets

  • thanks for this - it brought back some great memories for me. my first match at the turf with my dad in the early 70s, the midweek match in our div 4 promotion season when we beat cardiff 3-1 in '92 to pretty much seal promotion

  • Superjono2 I still have one of those chips of concrete!! It's small, but you can still see the yellow paint on it!

  • Thanks for putting this on, brought back some great memories of standing there with my dad from the age of 6 to 18 yrs of age very emotional , thank you.

  • I wonder where those concrete chips are now that they were breaking out at the 2 minute mark?

  • wow! what a vid.really brings back memories.

so many memories of cheering on the clarets from the longside.

great vid, top quality, thanks for posting.

  • Can't beat the old terraces, as a seasider, this is one of the best ive stood on for atmosphere, early 90's night match record attendance for the division at the time, 21,000 i think? Blackpool filled it.

  • had a few fight in the longside going back in time as a HULL CITY fan....hope you lot get promotion this season...

  • Im gutted i diddnt get ta go there :( Lol up the burnley!!

  • Thanks for this footage. It takes me back years. I traveled over Greenhow hill to Skipton, Coln, Nelson then to turf moor from Ndderdale in the North yorkshire dales.

  • i were born in 94 n i wish that we still had the longside coz o the stories from ma dad n his friends it sounded like an amazin stand

  • Just wish they had made a film about the Cricket Field end, the night we played Naples the roof lifted.

  • sorely missed...what happy days we had even in the old 4th division r.i.p. longside

  • I'm glad someone took this and posted it.

    Thank you

  • What I'd give to stand on the longside one last time.

Fantastic video Guyver - it brought back so many memories.

  • Wow,that brought back some memories..Gave me a lump in my throat & got tears in my eyes thinking about the Orient Game & how we pulled off the great escape on SATURDAY,9th MAY,1987.

    WE ARE THE LONGSIDE......BURNLEY.

    WE ARE BURNLEY'S......L O N G S I D E.

  • If you never experienced the longside it is a shame indeed the roar was so lound and the singing so fierce it nearly popped your eardrums it really did. But hte time is now and although nostalgia is superb it is time to look forward Burnleys best days are yet to come , keep the dream alive.

  • gutted i never got to stand in those terraces and sing my heart out for the lads.

    UTC

  • that sent a shiver down my spine

    top man

  • Not just the Longside, but the BeeHole as well. How we miss those terraces now....

  • Wish the terrace was still there, i'd buy a season ticket every season. Don't bother now the atmosphere is not as good. We are the Longside Burnley!

  • we are the longside , burnley!

  • Long live the Longside!

  • You can't beat terracing, and this was one of the best i've stood on, as a SEASIDER, great atmosphere.
