If your not a Claret you wont understand............my best memory was watching the crowd walking behind the goal towards the end on their way out.And oh the bogs ..awesome ....proper fans in a proper fans stand
nice one mate. thanks for posting. brings out loads memories from my childhood, standing in the sideways rain on the bee hole, hoping they would open the barriers so we could enjoy the 'luxury' of the longside roof! Up the clarets
thanks for this - it brought back some great memories for me. my first match at the turf with my dad in the early 70s, the midweek match in our div 4 promotion season when we beat cardiff 3-1 in '92 to pretty much seal promotion
Thanks for putting this on, brought back some great memories of standing there with my dad from the age of 6 to 18 yrs of age very emotional , thank you.
Can't beat the old terraces, as a seasider, this is one of the best ive stood on for atmosphere, early 90's night match record attendance for the division at the time, 21,000 i think? Blackpool filled it.
Thanks for this footage. It takes me back years. I traveled over Greenhow hill to Skipton, Coln, Nelson then to turf moor from Ndderdale in the North yorkshire dales.
Wow,that brought back some memories..Gave me a lump in my throat & got tears in my eyes thinking about the Orient Game & how we pulled off the great escape on SATURDAY,9th MAY,1987.
If you never experienced the longside it is a shame indeed the roar was so lound and the singing so fierce it nearly popped your eardrums it really did. But hte time is now and although nostalgia is superb it is time to look forward Burnleys best days are yet to come , keep the dream alive.
i wish i was about when the longside was still up and in use, sounds soo much like a better atmosphere and a really iconic place
