I love him, but it's a bit hypocritical to talk about the renaissance man, he's now working on Wall Street after for many years of making rap music with his buddies and graffiti. lol
"If you're an actor be an actor" He was acting in the movie wall street, that's nothing outside of film making. He's still being an actor in that regard.
The rap he helped his buddy produce, he was not rapping himself. He was not getting into singing etc. his friend needed publicity/money and shia helped.
The graffiti was not mainstream. It was not something he used his celebrity from movies to promote, but like a home project with friends for fun. Shia is by all means an actor.
@xAfricana Jeez, someone's a bit defensive. haha I was just pointing out the fact that he now works on Wall Street because of the film and that he does more than just act. He got so into the film that he actually learned finance before shooting began and became certified and now he does trade on Wall Street everyday and follows it closely. And because he helped his friend doesn't mean he didn't like the music, that was his 'scene' back in the day, now he's cleaned-up.
Supporting politicians or selling products doesn't require any talent and I would argue that modeling doesn't either. As for actors who are also singers (and vice versa) and launch their own clothing lines and fragrances and such, I think he just means a lot of people are taking it too far. And I'm inclined to agree. Usually the people who spread themselves so thin are the ones who do it because they simply CAN and have a name to sell it, and not because they're genuinely good at it.
its just his oppinion, as he said so himself...I agree with ginafaloola but I also think if you got the talent and skill for acting, singing, writing, sports, code breaking, juggling, communication with animals....whatever then the world is your oyster friend. Don't hold back.
I also liked what he said "if you're an actor, be an actor."
To me he is like saying be real and true to your craft and ultimately to yourself.
lol good inteview. I disagree with his anti-renaissance man comment, but he makes it clear that its just his opinion. I feel if you can and want to do something, within social boundaries, you should do it. Sometimes even unacceptable things should be done.
Nice video! What a pity there is no sound! We can't hear the captivating voice of Shia. But it's not serious, Shia is so hot even when it says nothing! And look this eyes and this smile, oh god how I love him!!
I'm Russian and I completely disagree with him. Humor is so subjective. You have to be raised on it. Different cultures find different things funny that's why comedies that rely heavily on witty dialogue have a more difficult time translating to other cultures than action films or physical-humor comedies.
thats true about the last part, but there are things that most ppl, unless ur extremely depressed, find universily funny, like basic stupid and physical humor can be funny to lots of different ppl and cultures
an advice that he doesn't follow
