im trying to decide if i should keep ubuntu 9.04 as my main os or if i should go to windows 7. i originally switched from vista to ubuntu because of slow performance. any advice?

Slow performance...lol... tests have proven that Vista was about 5% slower on average, you know whow much that is on 40 frames? 2 frames difference! Windows Aero came after when linux had compiz, beryl etc. I hate how you can customise windows aero except turn the animations on or off. I used to have them off, and then i converted over to linux. I never want to go back to windows ever again.

I just watched this again... I'm serious, bloody hell, that is a blatant rip off straight out of KDE... It is so blatant my jaw just drops....

The "taskbar" looks like the desktop panel from KDE 3.5 with translucency turned on... and the widgets that pop up are exactly, and I mean EXACTLY the same as KDE 4.1 even down to the translucent border bits, the only difference is that KDE's default colour is black (they are themable in KDE 4) while Windows 7's are kind of white...

No, if you read my comment correctly, then you would seen that I said that macs have a better operating system (OS X) and then we can go on windows to play games. So therefore, I can do all my work/browsing/chatting on OS X flawlessly and efficiently. Then just switch over to windows to play some games. So therefore i get the best of both worlds; The operating system on OS X and the gaming possibilities on windows. You cannot get both of these on and PC, so MACS WIN. So thank you, and good night

No, you cant run OS X on windows. Windows vista is pretty appalling, buggy, laggy and very in-efficient. Dont even try deny, millions of unsatisfied users agree with me. Im hoping windows 7 will make up for it though.

I know that you can't run OS X on windows and believe me I don't want to do that.. Plus you know what with a decent computer (I have 4 computers 1 xp 3 vista) you won't feel anything wrong with vista. But yet again I am one of those people that take care of their computers (I like to keep it up to date, have the whole network protectd... etc)

I know what you mean, I kept mine safe and secure. But the most problems i had were drivers not working, and then very annoying bugs for example ipconfig would not work, aswell as my screensaver. Probably more aswell, i havnt fully adventured vista yet.
