i've got that exact model, the 1958 lg1, have had it for a while now, and for me, the best sound i get out of it is with the elixir nanoweb strings, they just bring the guitar to life!
Chuck -- terrific playing and nice sounding little axe. I also like those small bodied Gibsons -- I have a 1936 Gibson TG-1 which is the same body with a slimmer neck and four strings. One thing that big G prob. should not have done is those adjustable bridges -- they are inferior to the simpler non adjustables IMO -- if you ever decided to upgrade it that's were I'd start.

what did strings do you use on your lg-1?
mstark7 10 months ago
@mstark7 I think they were D'addario EJ16. I usually use EJ19 on my other guitars. Cheers,

@sasquatch888 Yep. This was one of the first vids I shot and I didn't realize I had a mono signal coming into it. Apologies.

I have a 1959 Gibson LG-1. Bought it for 40 dollars in a pawn shop when i was 12. All original, plays great, and sounds even better.

Thanks. Obviously, to all who watch, I made the mistake of recording this in mono and it's only going to come out of one speaker. Learning... :-)
