  • I guess I wasn't paying atterntion in the past, becauseI didn't realize Garret Morris had a harvard accent until now. Clear as a Bell it is!

  • This is how most brainless teabaggers see our president.

  • Apparently, he got the idea from the Art Linkletter show. Linkletter was talking with a white woman in the audience, and found out that she was a singer. He invited her to play a song. She refused, but Linkletter persisted, and she came on up. "Do you want me to play my favorite song?" she asked. He said, "Yes," and she launched into this song, but with the original lyrics: "I'm gonna get me a shot gun and kill all the n!G$@rs I see..." They shut the tv feed off before it went any further.

  • @aneilshirke That's exactly where he got it from.

  • Love is blind and so are bullets. Who cares if it appropriate or not, It is funny! None of you are Garrett. None of you were there. Quit answering for him.

  • bwahahahahaaa!!!!! I been looking for this!!!!! this is the funniest ish ever!!! thanks for posting it...can you post the whole skit?

  • Thank you SO much for posting this! One of THE best skits ever. I miss the original cast.

  • I love how SNL used to be. Screw PC. Remember that skit Garrett Morris does when he supposed to be translating the news for deaf people and its just him yelling everything Jane Curtain says or how about Eddie Murphy singing kill the white people how about Julia Louis Dreyfus and Gary Kroger as Donny and Marie and they end up making out on Gumbys christmas special? Good times.....

  • @ds41980 OMG. THIS. TOTALLY. Fuck yeah--I miss the real SNL. It hasn't been this funny in years; the original SNL was cutting-edge and took chances. Agree---SCREW PC. I'm so tired of everyone worrying about offending someone. The show used to be BRILLIANT. And nobody ever felt the need to apologize. If you don't like it--turn it the fuck OFF. That's why they put that switch on the t.v....

  • Anyone remember the show Peter Cook wanted the inmates to perform? "Gigi"!!!

  • awesome i thought it was banned been looking for this forever fuck being pc im gonna kill all the whiteys i see classic stuff by the way im caucasan and aint killin anything but braincells

  • Pure comedy gold!!! Thankx for posting!

  • I wonder if footage of the original is floating around somewhere...

Garret Morris revealed in an interview that this song was actually borrowed from this racist old white lady that was on some old tv show in the 50's, except that he had replaced "whities" for another word.

I think you can imagine what it was. She was only on the air for like 30 seconds before they cut her off.

  • YAAAY! Thanks for posting this.

  • thank you, i sing this around work once in a while , now i can show people why

  • Herman Cain?

  • I never knew Obama could sing!

  • Aaah for those good old days when SNL was cutting edge, funny and worth watching.

  • I cannot get this tune out of my head. After seeing it live in '75, I'll still, to this day, sometimes be driving along, singing this. (I'm white. But still, the song is a hoot!! )

    Your friend,

    Johnny Radionic (TM)

  • classic!

  • I remember this skit to this day! Have not seen it since it first aired! Thanks !!!

  • I think he was being a little too offensive.

  • I sing this to myself frequently. It is useful for so many occasions.

  • funny stuff, imagine if it was a white man singing the other "word", why can't people get past words and enjoy life? it doesn't matter, just words, lifes too short to hate

  • @schef99 considering the social context of the time and the context of the bit (they are making fun of the dude) you really don't grasp the difference

  • I always liked the skit with Eddie Murphy at the VFW hall as Tyrone Green and his reggae band.

  • LOL!

  • Oh my god this skit!!! This is possibly one of the funniest SNL skits of all time.

  • @RyYajn Yes it was.... I'm 46, remember it well. Kudos for the post and how did the guy get it, from the box series?

  • People keep posting as to.how this clip represents a double standard when there is none. This is a skit of a black singing about killing white people, but up to the moment of filming and beyond, white people were actually singing and killing black people. Now that white people see that they are the minority, they get all sensitive about jokes. You people had 500 years to act right, don't get mad now.

  • This skit was hilarious. Too bad it isn't all in the video here.

  • Yeah its true, There was this old woman down south who did do that on a talent show down south that did do that..An OLD WOMAN..Wonder would she would do if she saw what's going on now..Think on it..LOL

You mean to say..the people elected..A niggra?!

  • This SNL Skit is priceless, I'm white by the way!

  • This is hilarious, but I wonder what was gonna be if Aykroyd was singing " Getting me a shotgun and kill all the niggas i see". Double standards I guess.

  • @Sadden4o I love the whole double standards things, especially since we live a completely fair and equitable society.

  • Just watch american history X if you need to get a fix for it.

  • @Sadden4o y'know funny you should say that. No Dan Aykroyd and none of the other SNL cast would sing that but Garrett Morris wrote that skit based on a old woman who got on TV and started singing "Imma get me a shotgun and kill of the niggas I see"..right before the station pulled the plug on the performance. but it was all the inspiration he needed to write a classic. true story.

  • @cableguyxx9898xx

Really? I didn't know that. Anyways, a classic snl moment.

  • I've been looking for this for years! Thanks!

  • I remember when it aired, I was laughing and thinking..."I can't believe they just did that".

Funny that the "old days" where less censored than 40 years later, never would have thunk it!

    V is for Vendetta.

  • I wish someone had a better version of this. It's classic. I still remember the words after all these years.

  • Thanks for posting this!

  • If Obama sees this clip, he'll want to appoint Garrett Morris to the Justice Dept.

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! Why is it that all the greatest skits are not on youtube???????????????????????????? How about the Jackie Rogers Jackpot Wad skit with Martin Short? Absolutely falling down laughing funny!!!!

  • LOL. I was working in my garden yesterday, and this song popped into my head. It must be kinda bizarre watching an old white guy like me singing this.....

  • @MervynCruddy - My first day on the job I broke into this really loud- the looks on the faces of my co-workers (mostly black) was freakin' priceless.

  • @jackmioff100 LOL are you still employed there?

  • @MervynCruddy- Yep, still singing!

  • This clip fills me with so much joy, I can not even begin to explain it.

  • I'm gonna get me a shotgun and kill all the dirty cops, lawyers, and judges I see!

Then cap every commie, pedo, racist, and dirtball I see!

  • I always get this song stuck in my head!!!!

  • Haha Love Garrett. He's genius.

  • This is the greatest song in SNL history!

  • LMAO!

  • thanks for posting garret morris rules

  • 1 of the best songs ever created, here is why. Next time you are about to be asked for, gas, drugs, money, if you have heard of their religious group, to calm down because "your making them scared" or think you might become the victim of a violent crime, or you just want a moment alone to think. Play this song at full volume! It works every time.

  • Wow if this was a skit saying "Kill all the darkeys I see" there'd be a fucking riot, you hypocrites. Not funny at all.

  • @JaysThoughts= So true.

  • @JaysThoughts he got it from this old lady.she had a song called kill all the niggers i see,not even darkies.he was making fun of her.On top of that i mean he's a criminal in this skit, its not like he just a black person singing it.Im not just saying this because im black either.

  • @medexamtoolsdotcom Screw you. If you don't like the video, don't watch it. P.S. Your name is pretty ridiculous.

  • I appreciate the fact you've posted this. Not everyone is as media-savvy as others; fig bucking deal--you got it here, that's the important part. It wasn't the Gong Show, but Morris had seen an old white lady singing a similar song (as quoted by kingkevv69, below). Morris actually studied at The Juilliard School as well as with the Harry Belafone Singers when he was young. Talented man!

  • @lucerolane I wish you knew how to transfer video using a method other than pointing a video camera at a friggin' television because that is about as ridiculous as counterfeiting metal coins with a copy machine.

  • @medexamtoolsdotcom Then you do it, Captain Smartass.

It's here. Be grateful that someone took the time to find, record and post it in the first place instead of nitpicking over such ultimately unimportant details.

  • this is one of my favorite sketches of all time, and definitely my favorite garrett morris moment

  • Classic and edgy. Thanks for posting.

  • that was classic material but i saw an interview somewhere an the idea came from an episode of the gong show, where an old white woman sang she gonna get a shotgun an kill all the niggers she sees

  • @kingkevv69 I'm assuming she was in an inbred KKK member.

  • thanks been looking for this.

  • I wish I could remember where I saw an interview with Garrett Morris speaking about this skit. He said that it was based on an actual song that was sung on tv (or was it radio?) by a white woman, playing a piano, and she sang it about blacks (using the insulting term n---ers), back in the days when everything was broadcast live and they didn't get to cut her off quickly enough. Quite a shocking illustration of times when many tolerated racism, the woman seemed unaware that it was offensive.

  • I wish I knew where to find the whole skit

  • @lucerolane It's on one of those "Classic Collection" DVDs, called SNL Live from New York, the

First 5 Years (I got mine at walmart).

  • @lucerolane netflix.

  • @lucerolane This was on the 15 year reunion show that I am no longer able to find posted on line. If I could buy a copy on DVD, I'd love one.

  • been looking for this one!

  • AAAAHHHH!!!!!! Thanks for posting this!! I had been wishin' someone would! Can you post the whole skit?

  • @glennorange

    Same here!

I wanna see the whole skit too! :)

  • The skit was called Lifer Follies and was on a season 2 program which featured guests Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. It is one of my all-time favorite skits. Glad someone had the guts to post it.

  • @cbs2don Its actually season 1, I think I found it on netflix.

  • classic skit

  • Ohhhh I love this skit so Much,Thanks for posting this

  • I've been looking for this for a while.THANKS!!

  • This song is not far off from an actual song written during Jim Crow period. SNL was an amazing show not since the Smothers Brothers has comedy reflected what is really going on. Unfortunately, I haven't enjoyed it since the original cast. It had its moments with Eddie Murphy & joe Piscapo. The last 10 -15 years deep do-do boring, so unfunny it is embarrasing.

  • An absolute classic! This is when SNL was worth watching. Now it just sucks.

  • Thank you very much

  • All about the Navy blue sweater.

  • Now someone please find Garrett as James Brown in Scotland with bagpipe band ~ trying to teach them soul music!

  • @benni604613, i agree with u, that music is great, i hear it 300 times, or more

    S2 Brenny Bear :]

  • hahah dallon nice one^^ love you guy. aaaand your new song is brilliant!!! the one you did with brendon :)

  • lol
