Well considering this is a US car you could already tell it wasnt a legit CSL. It didn't meet safety/emissions standards so it was never brought to the US. BMW released a CS model but it differed from the CSL greatly.

You are actually wrong. The M3 is supposed to sound like this. The standaard exhaust has it too (although a bit more muted...).

There are "anti-rasp" kits available though. But in my opinion you have to be very foolish to buy those :)

yeah thats not bad. thats not a csl though just a normal m3 on csl wheels and bumper as there is no carbon fibre roof and the interior is a standard m3 by the looks of the seat and dash, but is nice sound very metalic

no it's not. CSL is a CSL. M3 CS (ClubSport = Competition Package) isn't a M3 CSL.

The CS pack only adds CSL rims, sharpen up the steering response and some tweaks.

CSL is a totally different beast.
