every rock band should play this, i don't care if you like judas priest, he was a f*cking founding father of your career which you use to get some from floosey bar whores on tuesday open mic night!!!
A bit bummed out today thinking about the recent announcement of the "Epitaph World Tour" and the fact that it will be Priest's last tour. Yes, everything must come to an end but not having this band tour after new music is released will be hard to take. The last tour will go right thru till 2012 so maybe we will all go at the same time while at a Priest show. Hows that for an Epitaph.
setibevo...Dont over think it man wow, Its just a gay guy wearing leather playing some dam good rock and roll thats all there is man. Nothing more nothing less try not to over analyze stuff so much "Nobody....but NOBODY....does light and shade, drama, melody, and passion with heavy metal quite like Judas Priest" dude get out of your mom's garage get a girlfriend and move on..so sad so very sad
This song is as awesome now as it was 30 years ago. Few bands put the kind of effort into their music as Judas Priest did, and it shows in the crap you hear today.
Even the metal world is getting fucked up Judas priest isnt even a lead act on the festival thats coming near my town.. instead the lead is fucking Slipknot, now im not trying to bash slipknot but Judas fucking Priest are fucking heavy metal legends, and in my eyes the best heavy metal band in this world.
I really love this song, when I hear it I think of a certain time in my life. I close my eyes it takes me right back I can even smell the air of the past........
Judas Priest has been around for a very long time - over 40 years. Bands like this never die. It's too bad you think their early work was "average". I wasn't really a huge fan of it until I listened to Sad Wings of Destiny from beginning to end. You have to start with Victim of Changes - far from average. It's different on this studio recording than the version on Unleashed in the East. It begins with that kickass guitar intro that seems to come from a distance, getting louder and louder.
@chezequerz I hope AC/DC doesn't do the same. I'd be devastated!! And, with Priest, I only admire their late-'70s-mid-'80s material. The rest is kinda sucky and their earlier work is, I'd say average. Their later work is SO Metallica and that thrash metal shit that I HATE thrash metal.
@HarryPotter87 i think AC/DC have had it coming for a while now they're fading away slowly and since they don't exactly like to experiment with their music people are getting bored. Priest have never done a thrash metal album the vocal style is all wrong as is the drum and especially the guitar work. They just revamped themselves into something with more teeth.
@VitalSigns1 Are you going to Pitt with a purpose? If not come to Branson we've got a hard rock revival or something going on here. The theaters are still country but all the pubs are playing heavy metal it's awesome. I saw a band the other night called "Skillit" they did stuff from Zep to Shinedown.
@notherbuschlight I'm actually going there to play drums in an old school metal band. Branson? I'll have to remember that. My guitarist is down there I'll let him know about it.
Thanks to my dad that I listen to this stuff, and not the shit that comes out. I am a 14 year old and I know what metal is. One rule to Metal is to never go mainstream. Then you feel like you lost them, and when you loose somthing it's not going to be the same COUGH COUGH METALLICA. This is one of my all time favourite albums. List is...... 1. Ride The Lightning, 2. Screaming For Vengence, 3. Surfing With The Alien. Metal for fucking life! /M\
this song really has the right notes to mark a moment you would like to remember in the future, as many people say in here! Many were in high school, meedle school or college by the time this album went out! I apreciate the comments and I'm glad you liked it! My homeland Brazil also rock a lot, and we do like priest and other metal bands as maniacs in here!
@alvaresborges dude I'm just a 16 year old kid from the states but I've seen documentaries like flight 666 and rock in rio so I know damn well that metal has a very strong following in Brazil and a lot of other places in central and south america. Keep rockin down there man a lot of bands especially iron maiden know how loyal you guys are
Yeah, metal is also strong over here, in whole latin america we see long haired guys with metal t-shirts, that's what unite us in the whole fucking land! Metal bands are very welcome here and in any other latin country, and I know we are welcome there, cause some of our metal bands like sepultura(the old one) and violator have a very nice public over there and they really recognize their job, that's really cool!
Why the hell was this song not released as a single?! This is one of their most underrated songs. The best parts imo are the soft opening and the bridge.
Just when you think it couldn't get any better 3:41 kicks in... and it just blows the roof off of everything! This gem of a song will shine forever.......
They're the BEST heavy metal band of all-time! The 2 things that seperate these guys from the rest is 1- KK and Glen compliment each other so well it's sometimes hard to differentiate between them and 2- Rob Halford is one of the best singers in the world!!
Nobody....but NOBODY....does light and shade, drama, melody, and passion with heavy metal quite like Judas Priest. It's an aspect of their creativity that has driven some of their fans apeshit because Priest don't always do songs like "Screaming For Vengeance," or "Painkiller...." they've always been about exploration and making the kind of songs that move THEM first...and they do it better than any other band I've ever heard. PRIEST RULES!
man thanks for posting this its my favorite song from the screaming for vengeance album. i especially like the amazing solo. nowadays its rare to hear a song played with such emotion. =)

I love the part after the verse and instrumental that kicks it up about 3 notches, takes me back to 1982 when I was 13. It seems so unreal that it was so long ago. My dad is a county musician and mocked music like this, we weren't allowed to have it in the house. It was one of the first "rock" albums I bought . . . (on vinyl -- and I still have it). I had to hide it. I dubbed casettes from it that I would play in my Walkman when I did my newspaper route.
Dude, you're a fucking rocker and brought up us some great story on how hard people take on the ones who apretiate metal and stuff, thanks for you comment!! And we wouldn't have a movement like the one we have today if it wasn't people like you who stand up to defend what the believe and care!
@Calavan1969 Sucks you had to hide this as it is one of the greatest metal albums of all time! I bought the record also in 85 and my mom was like WTF is that?? But she grew up on Led Zep and the Stones so she left me alone and actually liked some of the songs. Great period in time especially for metal.
@Calavan1969 When I was a young girl, I, like, hated metal and thought my parents were gonna think I was outta my mind. I started liking metal when I was in my late teens, thanks to hearing AC/DC on the Cingular tv ad. Just recently, like a month ago, I got into Priest and I FUCKING LOVE IT!!! I'm 23 now.
Sternkrieg72, that was so cool of you to apologize for that, it wasn't a big deal really...but some people on here can get pretty testy. I think necroshyha was nice about it too after saying "sorry i offended you". It's nice to see a couple of people being kind rather than the normal asshats that come on here to argue and get a rise out of people. This song ROCKS by the way, and so does Priest! They're touring here in Orange County in August, hoping to go! :)
I have been a Priest fan since 1978 and this is the first time I have ever heard anyone refer to them as racist. What exactly is racist about Judas Priest?
If you scroll to the bottom and click on "view all comments" you will see that you and I have been replying to a post from Sternkrieg72 who states his friend thinks Priest is racist crap. Which really suprised me because as I said in 32 years of following the band this is the first time I have heard anyone refer to them as racist. I'm not offended and the charge is groundless but I'm just shocked that anyone believes this.
i could have got this album for 2 bucks and i only had one dollar my dad said i would have to suffer and thats exactly what i'm doing, god this is so awesome!!
Fever makes the arteries constrict and makes your blood pump faster until the pressure from the narrow tubes burst in your heart & your brain.
It also mutates the shape of all the enzymes so no more chemical reactions can occur in your body and while it all explodes it simultaneously grinds to a chemical halt. This has been your metal health minute.

Yes, everything must come to an end but not having this band tour after new music is released will be hard to take. I started liking metal when I was in my late teens, thanks to hearing AC/DC on the Cingular tv ad. Just recently, like a month ago, I got into Priest and I FUCKING LOVE IT!!! I'm 23 now.

My friend called Judas Priest racist crap. I just wanted to punch them in the face right then and there.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but if you are, why?

It looks like You want to share with us that information to get xxx thumbs up. I got bored of that. Sorry if i ofended You
necroshyha 2 years ago
Hey, no problem. I realized after I said that how stupid both of my posts sounded. It's perfectly fine.
Sternkrieg72 2 years ago 2

RobertLoblaugh 2 years ago
why do you say so? I dont see any comments about racism...
BY THE WAY... LONG LIVE PRIEST

I love how the band and the engineers didn't restrain the drums in this song, even the whole Screamin' album. Awesome song, awesome cd.
