Judas Priest has been around for a very long time - over 40 years. Bands like this never die. It's too bad you think their early work was "average". I wasn't really a huge fan of it until I listened to Sad Wings of Destiny from beginning to end. You have to start with Victim of Changes - far from average. It's different on this studio recording than the version on Unleashed in the East. It begins with that kickass guitar intro that seems to come from a distance, getting louder and louder.

@HarryPotter87 i think AC/DC have had it coming for a while now they're fading away slowly and since they don't exactly like to experiment with their music people are getting bored. Priest have never done a thrash metal album the vocal style is all wrong as is the drum and especially the guitar work. They just revamped themselves into something with more teeth.

Yeah, metal is also strong over here, in whole latin america we see long haired guys with metal t-shirts, that's what unite us in the whole fucking land! Metal bands are very welcome here and in any other latin country, and I know we are welcome there, cause some of our metal bands like sepultura(the old one) and violator have a very nice public over there and they really recognize their job, that's really cool!

Now this is why metal bands like priest are still making albums and respected, cos they never kept one album the same, the same of many things, and the defining word is! VARIENCE. Something that isnt known much of today, jsut find one thing that the public or fans love and churn it out. Priest have had so many different albums and types adn stuff.

The new album Nostradamus is totally (nearly) a fresh mould, but is, as a whole, very well done and got such emotion in it.

I love the part after the verse and instrumental that kicks it up about 3 notches, takes me back to 1982 when I was 13. It seems so unreal that it was so long ago. My dad is a county musician and mocked music like this, we weren't allowed to have it in the house. It was one of the first "rock" albums I bought . . . (on vinyl -- and I still have it). I had to hide it. I dubbed casettes from it that I would play in my Walkman when I did my newspaper route.
