  • I like Mike's voice better on that song! :P omg the Beach Boys are so awresome! Excellent song and excellent video, excellent music, eargasm!!!

  • this was the worst period for Brian as a singer. he's so much better now and was infinitely better prior to this.

  • 1:04 Voice actor BILLY WEST (Futurama and many other things) is the guitar player to the right!!!!

  • The GREATEST American songwriter of all time. IMO. ;-)

  • Brian has Mental Illness.I'm sure Drugs were A Problem.

    Let's be Compassionate.

  • nice daughter ;)

  • One of the best despite his problems...hey now, hey now, hey now...whoaa ooo!!!

  • Love his face at 2:38

  • That's good,,do it again

  • That was awesome! Brian was so relaxed and loose.

  • wtf at 2:38 ?

  • another reason this video rocks No Melinda it's 100% Melinda Free Go Team Marilyn Brian and Marilyn forever

  • @coolsweetgroovy Brian & Marilyn forever <3

  • @onlinemonikers nice i'm not the only one

  • @onlinemonikers Hmmm don't know how to break this to you but he divorced Marilyn years ago.

  • @alienhuman She divorced him in 1979 for the benefit of their two daughters. I am aware.

  • @alienhuman Should have guessed you were from Team Melinda

  • This is super cool Thanks love the Beach Boys and also Wilson Phillips

  • Fucking hell, that was atrocious.

  • Living Legend. Absolute Genius.

  • Purportedly, Gary Hinman gave him bad drugs. Hinman was the "chemist" and musician murdered by musician Bobby Bousoliel. It is said that this murder prompted the Tate-Labianca slayings, better known as the Manson murders. This man is lucky to be alive in more ways than one.

Godspeed to him for making it through all he has. He has made a lot of people happy, though his life has not always been.

  • no, he's not on drugs...his actions appear odd because of his past drug abuse. Reviewing his SMILE show in St Louis, the Post-Dispatch reviewer termed him "endearingly wooden," an apt description for those who know the background. He's come back from a personal hell most of us couldn't....and other rock stars didn't. His dad was abusive and he's the last of 3 brothers.

  • @DoofsterDan

His "odd actions" are due to recklessly prescibed antipsychotics by a physician imposter. NOT drug abuse. This was abuse (perhaps more than chemical) by "Dr" Landy, his spurious caregiver. A psychologist cannot prescibe, in any state.

  • @alburtise When I was in college, I wanted to help save the world. Majored in psychology. Changed majors at the end of my junior year when I understood what idiocy psychology is--and the fact that some I went to school with are now out there practicing as psychologists makes me fear for the health and safety of their clients.

  • No he isn't.

  • @relimes no, it's just your mind playing tricks on you. :) have a good day. :b

  • @relimes this is when he finally got away from Landy

  • he sounds alittle insane, why?

  • Wendy...yummy

  • I would only make one change in this... I would put Wendy on top of the piano.

  • @alienhuman Get your head out of the gutter

  • @coolsweetgroovy Mine isn't. Yours must be.

  • @alienhuman I'm not the one posting my sexual fantasies on youtube so you're the 1 that needs to get your head out of the gutter

  • @coolsweetgroovy Review my words. There is nothing sexual in them. Any sexual connotations are added by you. End of story.

  • @alienhuman you're the one who said you'd put Wendy on top of the piano

  • @coolsweetgroovy Stop being a nag. I said nothing from the gutter.

  • @alienhuman Then can you explain why you wanted to put Wendy on the piano

  • Wendy Wilson was super-HOT!!!

  • Maestro Magnifico!

  • mmmmmmmmmmm Wendy

  • "Boys of Summer" is a reference to Beach Boys. By the way, I've always thought Paul's schtick was just campy and sometimes self-deprecating humor, never took it as him being egotistical.

    Or in his case, humour.

  • It amazes me how Paul Schaefer thinks he is a world class musician in his own mind.

  • Thank you joerotty I cant stand how Schafer thinks he is all that

  • It seems any time he is performing he tries to be the center of attention.

  • OH PLEASE! Paul has played with some of the greats. It amazes ME how some gnomes have to tear others down because it makes them feel so damn insightful.

  • @Quickstoptim Paul is a very good musician and truly gets it. Knows Brian better than most people because he was a very good friend of Carl's. He also filled in at times for The Beach Boys in a few concerts. He has been known to play back up at the Carl Wilson Foundation events. :)

  • Paul wrote a song with Brian, Metal Beach.

  • @debonbon if by "writing a song with Brian" you mean "meandering over the shortenin' bread riff", then yes.

  • @Joerotty - Who better than he in this environment? He did a recreation of Phil Spector for a live performance by Darlene Love that was absolutely awesome!

  • Wendy - looking sexy in this one!

  • yeah I know.... couldn't take my eyes off her ... nice moves.

  • Is that Don Henley's "Boys Of Summer" at the end for some reason?

  • yes, fade to commercail music...

  • Better than anything written by either Dylan or Reed.

  • I agree with the dylan part, but Reed has wrote some classics, but Wilson does top all.

  • Definitely! As great as Dylan and Reed are/were, they didn't really get the whole "sincerity" thing, and they totally forgot that rock and roll is supposed to be fun. Its possible to be "acant-garde" and/or "edgy" and still be fun, isn't it? I know the Who still tried to be fun even when they got "artsy". "do It Again" isn't exactly a cutting edge song (unlike PS and SMiLE), but it is a pretty fun song.

  • Whoops, typo. Meant "avant-garde", not "acant-garde".

  • Come on Brian "Do it Again"

  • He's telling the band to wrap it up as the song is near the end.

  • Good performance. Wilson sounds great considering all the shit he's done to his vocal chords over the years. Wendy looks good in the go-go boots. Hell, she's the most lively person on the stage. The rest of the band, including Paul Schaffer, were pretty stiff.

  • That's a pretty sound performance, right at the start of the current comeback. Can't be many other examples from the mid-90s, so thanks a bunch.

  • The Beach Boys, with Brian, did a performance of "I Can Hear Music" on Live with Regis and Kathy Lee in 1996, if anybody has that, that would be cool to see, so cool.
