You're right Oldies5161. This song came out in the late summer and early fall of 1967. I remember hearing it on the radio. It's one of the many songs that you don't hear on the radio anymore.
@oldies5161 On the Ric Tic Relics album it says it was produced in `68,there is no date on my single so that is all i have to go on,maybe the album producers, have got it wrong???? they have before, cheers,Kev.
@oldies5161 That's right. And You've Got To Pay The Price charted in the Detroit area in August-September 1967. The charts credited the artist as Al Kent instead of Instrumental, for obvious reasons!
This music takes me back to the early 70,s at monk,s social club Padgate, every sunday night

Was a DJ on the USS Northampton CC1 Spring 1967 this was my opening theme song. Later lyrics were added later. I like Al Kents version best.

this is really Dennis Coffey ;Al Kent appears nowhere on this side. TOP TUNE takes me back 40 years when I could still hit on young chicks------AHH!

This song couldn't have been produced in 1968 because it was a hit in the late summer and fall of 1967.
