i like the piece: it is slow, and sad. and the dance is fluid and they move unanimously, elegantly, but it seems much too fast and too energetic for Nature of Daylight. to each their own i suppose.
My son introduced me to this song a while back... I was so moved then and am on every hearing. This video does have a positive effect whilst enjoying the sadness contained within the music.
Stunningly beautiful. I discovered this song on the Shutter Island soundtrack and that version has Dinah Washington's This Bitter Earth mixed. I love to dance and always ballet my way around the room when I hear it! The two songs stand separately as beautiful pieces :-)
I made a youtube account just so that I can comment on this video... This song is very dear to me and I have a connection with it. The choreography and movement make it all the better... I literally cried the first time I watched this video... I am so inspired <3
it's not easy to hold over six minutes of music and this dance managed to do so so well that for over six minutes it was impossible to detach my whole being from the screen
I'm using this song is a play, just after my death scene. The choreography of the person playing my daughter and the person playing my husband is to real, and so sad, this song makes me cry every time
Beautiful balance of the two. Thank you for uploading this. I just found this video because I saw Raphael Coumes-Marquet interview on hulu in a series called 'Dance Pulp'. He seems such a sensitive person. A lovely man. ♥
I cried ... it's so beautiful :( I'm on cloud nine .... If I could dance like that .... I can see how people put their souls into dance and music ... Even I want something like this in my life.
Their heights work wonderfully for some really beautiful lifts and transitions. His length is so gorgeous and her sinewy sleekness wraps ribbons of beauty around this stage. Bravo <3
@lpadancer3 Its not, its called on the nature of daylight. Your probably thinking of the piece used in Shutter Island, which was this bitter earth/the nature of daylight, because it used the music from the nature of daylight and the vocals from this bitter earth.
I have never cried because of a youtube video, until watching this. So inspiring

They're impeccable, but I found the way HE moves riveting. The music is of such wholesome intent, immediate.

I think this dance does not match with the song and the vibe it creates. just my opinion. It is not a dance song in the first place,

How unfortunate that you limit your understanding on what can be expressed in dance form...!!! There are no limits when something is well done ..!!!
Sometime you should see Pachelbel's Canon in D danced in a free form ballet..!!!
That also is not a ballet piece but who cares...!!!
