  • I f***ing hate Burmese Pythons! They remind me of scenes from ANACONDA!

  • @Dinoman217 first I really appreciate you not using the whole work "***". Thanks. Wild Burmese can get very aggressive by nature but they are fun to try to catch. ANaconda was an 'okay' movie but a movie nevertheless. Thanks for viewing.

  • @Dinoman217 don't see anaconda films, it's some shit lol

  • @Greeniguana972 I'm just saying!

  • @Dinoman217 I have a burnese python here, she are great :)

  • its so true, only if people actually listen to what they are saying and find out that its all bull s*** and they are just following what everyone thinks its true but when thats wrong, all its going to do is get the owners of snakes and the whole snake community involved and i wouldnt dought it if a riot or something will happen if they allow those bills or keep leting hunters hunt these reptiles because i know i will be with the riot no question about it!!!!!

    thanx for the support

  • @ReptileRule point well taken. Thanks for viewing. I don't believe well established snake owners and breeders would riot. That would only show the media what they think people already "think of herpers"... Thanks for viewing.

  • The whole killer dog vs. killer snakes argument isn't very legitimate. People are exposed to dogs WAY more than they are to deadly snakes. Deadly snakes are kept in cages, whereas a potentially lethal dog is kept in the yard where a child might wander within the circumference of a rabid dog's chain. The bottom line is that deaths from guns, dogs, and snakes are a result of people. I'm glad you made that argument but we can't compare them to things like dogs and guns.

  • animallineteractions - actually they do play a part and you pointed it out. "People are exposed to dogs way more..." why because our society has excepted the dogs as pets and people die every year from them and we still have them. Plan and simple more die from dogs in 1 year then from snakes in 10 years. That is fact that is math that is researchable. Thanks for viewing.

  • @animalinteractions

In Florida Wild Burmese Pythons invade people's backyards more regularly that dogs.

  • @OceanbornAngel sorry but not true at all.

  • @TombstoneAnnieOakly - thanks for viewing.

  • @TombstoneAnnieOakly - having fun I see again?

  • Daaaaamn Todd. Did you steal one of my Dews before making this video? Just kidding...I know you are passionate about herpetology...but personally, I wouldn't go skinny-dippin' with one of 'em!!!

  • I just finished writing an essay titled "Should the importation and commerce of all pythons be banned in the U.S.?" You're videos helped me make some very good arguments against passing the bill.

  • Good luck on the paper ignorantcracka!

  • You are awesome!!!

  • Thank you my young viewer and I hope you continue on your herping adventures. Thanks for viewing.

  • I will be waiting for more vids!!!!! :) Is 20 young? :P haha

  • Yes, 20 is young! :)

  • Thanks for viewing working on some new vid ideas this week and some possible Cobra Encounters to come soon.

  • Todd, great video, I agree with you 100% This ban is just another HR669 in the making and isn't going to change a thing. No one will ever take into account how many children get mauled by pet dogs, get killed by horses, drown in pools, break necks on trampolines, but you don't see any bannings on any of those things. I'm all for controlling the invasive population in FL and cracking down on idiotic keepers, but this ban is just as poorly thought out as HR669 was.

  • I agree so are you yellling at me or are you agreeing? Thanks for viewing. Maybe the other vid will explain it more...

  • Yes, you are correct WyckedWyccan just another HR669. Be careful they'll try to bring that back as well under different names like they are doing now. Sorry, I thought you were yelling at me. I am realizing you were blogging with another person (Timothy). Thanks for viewing.

  • well personally I feel no one needs an anaconda, a reticulated python or any of the rock/burmese pythons for pets. They are risky. Yes people get involved while interacting with horses and falling off, but horses have helped man in his establishing of America. Dogs have helped man since the prehistoric days when they were wolves then. Dogs also protect people and help the disabled. Snakes just don't have those pet or companionship qualities like certain mammals do.

  • No, I wasn't yelling at you, I completely agree with you. I was just hoping to persuade the other blogger to see things from another perspective, the side of those like us, who make these animals our life, and to try and understand what a ban like this will do to the reptile industry and the pet trade in the long run.

  • I would prefer that we don't have pythons period for the pet trade that are larger than a ball python. Large pythons and boas are far from being pets. You will never know for sure when you have come upon a large constrictor or even venomous snake that could be lurking in your backyard. Dogs can at least be trained, snakes can not be trained. If you even insist on banning just "Burmese" pythons, some other species of large snake takes its place as a nuisance. Ban all pythons except Balls.

  • That is a poorly thought out statement. What happens to the Spotted, Children's, Macklot's, Carpet, Ringed, and the whole other slew of pythons that are relatively small and never going to be a threat to anyone? Like He said in the video, anywhere the ground freezes would be an end any wild invasive population of heat loving reptilian pythons. Out of 32 species there are a handful of pythons that grow large, and they are not lining up to 'take place' of burms once they are gone.

  • Aren't carpet pythons dangerous to cats and small dogs? I thought they were or I could be confusing that name with something else. Though I personally don't know all the various species by name, but like I said, if its larger than a Ball Python, we don't need them in the pet trade. Red Tailed Boas do pose a risk to domestic animals like small dogs and cats.

  • There are a lot of animals that can be dangerous to cats and dogs. Even your ball pythons have strangled their fare share of household pets upon escaping. You can't use size to base your judgement of what is considered a pet. There are a lot of animals that shouldn't be in the ''pet'' trade simply because the wrong people get a hold to them. Not everyone is suited to reptiles period, but that doesn't mean they should be taken from those qualified to own them, such as myself and others.

  • Also, just because you can train the family dog doesn't mean it isn't going to turn on you and rip your face off one day. Just because we teach gun education doesn't mean the shootings and killings will stop. Children will still drown in pools and break their necks on trampolines. This python ban is about idiotic people who don't know enough about these animals to have them. There are those of us who have had them for years and will never have a problem. This ban is not the answer to this issue.

  • Dogs can be dangerous, but we know more about how to handle them than we know about the ins and outs of owning snakes, which a lot of people misjudged the requirements and thus there is a problem in Florida now. Dogs can also be trained for various things and they also assist the blind, handicapped and governmental service agencies. Snakes are not so safe and which is why if you own a large one, you must have someone else to help you handle them. You can't do it alone as its not recommended.

  • Those who are trained to handle snakes know plenty about them. I have owned snakes of all sizes for 20 years, and I have never had an incident. This comes from education. Education is the key to everything we do. Any animal can be dangerous, and working with any animal is a risk. There is no ''safe'' animal period. People have been injured by ball pythons as well. The fact is your more likely to have a pink piano drop on your head and kill you than ever be injured by any python.

  • assuming you are not a complete idiot when it comes to working with the snakes. Every injury or death from a burmese python has been human error on some level. Especially with this most recent story of the little girl. Working with any animal takes common sense, education, and training- but such is life. Those of us who work hard to teach the public how to work with and respect these animals safely shouldn't be punished for those who just didn't care to learn enough.

  • WOW, I am realizing you were talking with "Timothy2035" - Great! I love it when other bloggers take on a debate that requires both sides to really think their arguement. Both you and Timothy have good points. I like to hear from both the reptile lovers (like you) and those that do not raise them like Timothy. Thank you both for viewing.

  • Snakes can be trained. Ask any one that owns many venomous snakes. They train them for cleaning cage and feeding purposes. Alligators are trained all the time as well. Just like we all think they are. Thanks for viewing. I still prefer not to ban all "pythons" this will eventually open the door for other things like dogs... I kid you not. This is a mistake that we will not be able to take back. - look at the Big Picture regardless of your personal views. Thanks for viewing.

  • though this "snake training" means nothing to those outside of the reptile world. If you encounter an escaped snake, what is it to say anyone can get it to avoid them striking? I was just thinking about the gators I saw on the National Geographic show that showed understanding qualities in being trained (persay). They were quite amazing. I don't dislike gators. Though how in the world can anyone put a ban on dogs? Dogs have helped mankind since the dawn of man almost.
