it's always been laughable to me when, well intentioned watchers claim of the "red mist" re: GV's death. jochen (toss) mass, committed two major errors in except able driving standards. 1) a driver must never drive down the middle of the circuit while preforming a cooling down lap. 2) a driver should never change directions on the circuit to either impede or help another driver, as it will only lead to confusion on witch side to pass. pure and complete incompetence on jm's part. the myth lives.

Everyone wants to win every race. What happened at Zolder happened because Gilles was driving in "the red mist"...as a racer, I've learned myself the hard way that driving "in the red mist" leads to colossal errors in judgement. Imola was only a great duel because Gilles slowed by 2-3 seconds when he was in the lead as ordered. Yes, I forgive and forgave Pironi after a while, but I still believe he fully deserves the "black bar" side-note for blatantly disobeying team orders and it's outcome.

I wish all these wonderful Villeneuve tributes didn't show his final crash, there is much to remember but this part is unnecessarily painful for a driver who deserves to have the best of his inspiring accomplishments shown.
