wow i must be way behind current SG news..it's january 2012 as i'm posting and didn't even realise that savage garden had disbanded and yet some of these posts are like over 2 years old now.what's weird to me is that while i'm not gay in the slightest,it seems like i always find out that my favorite music artists are.like the vocalist for SG..same happened with erasure in the 80's amon man more that became favorites.

There's something about 2 of them together, a kind of awesome magical melancholy if you will, in the quietness that's Daniel & a sorrow that's Darren. Can't explain it right, but their songs are tenderly beautiful, I'm moved to cry. His voice is beyond compare solo or not, but it's them with each other that's somehow right. After break-up Darren's face saddens me when he sings, & when I see Daniel talks. Whatever is said, they were like brothers in SG. They can't hate each totally. IMPOSSIBLE.

I think he's quite a good singer..but I think if you are around him the whole time (like daniel) he is somewhat a " dramatic personality". Like as daniel said in earlier interviews darren was always very excited, like all or nothing. Either really happy or really sad. Daniel, on the other hand, seemed a very down to earn rationally thinking guy. I think this difference had a gap that was too big for them to be able to "understand" eachother, which problably resulted i conflicts

Now again, you are the singer and the only difference is that Daniel is not with you. you hav different musicians, but u r still the singer...

So, Savage Garden had some magic, which the fans like me will never forget... Unite and the magic will return!

A lot of people who desperately want them to reunite were in their teens when SG were big. Of course their music reminds them of that time and they have great memories of that time. But even if they did reunite, the music would be so different I think. They have both matured since those days, so even if they did still have that chemistry, their music might never satisfy those people.

It reminds me a bit of how people never really like covers of songs. Just because they've gotten used to one version of that song when they were younger , they will never like the new version of that song just as much, although they might had like it more if they heard them both at the same time.

Daniel didn't like the celebrity status, he didn't want to be a popstar. Apparently he wanted to just work behind the scenes and that's what he does these days. I hope he's happy :)

Creative differences. Like a lot of bands that split, they didn't agree on how to move forward so they both went their seperate ways. They're still friends though.

Actually Darren's solo stuff is just as good if not better, just different. He just doesn't have the success he had with Savage Garden, firstly through lack of support when he was with Sony, because they didn't like his change in direction, and now of course he's independent, and radio doesn't support him as much. But the music is brilliant. You need to listen to his last two albums. What he had with Daniel was a great songwriting partnership, but it's over.

They only had 2 albums (both of which sold millions), so when they split up it seemed like such a waste of talent. It's too bad they're not likely to reunite because as far as I'm concerned, they danced circles around anyone else in pop music in the late 90's.

I believe around the time the "Truly Madly Completely" compilation came out, he said they actually wanted to work together, but scheduling got in the way. He also didn't rule out a collaboration in the future. They may never be a group again, but that doesn't mean they'll never work together again. We can hope.

I personally think Darren is an amazing talent, then and now, and his music has matured greatly since the SG days. I still love the SG songs but the stuff he does now is on a different dimension. He appeals to a different market now. But as I said, we're all entitled to our opinions. I'll agree to disagree. It would be a boring world if we all thought the same and all stayed the same.
