  • lol im p

  • I play bass myself. I've got nothing against bass players. Why would Quaife have a problem singing the "la la las" I wonder? I guess he didn't want to sound like a sissy. The fanciful background vocals were perfect in context with the song. Ray was very good at expressing his femininity without care. God save The Kinks! Sorry Pete Quaife wherever you are. I'm a little bias being a Ray Davies follower and quick to praise most of his early work with The Kinks.

  • Ist ja geil! Vielen Dank!

  • Ouch, hey, give bass players some credit!

  • One of John Lennon's favorite songs of all time. Fact.

  • Ray was as good a songwriter as Lennon. They were equals. Giants.

  • The vocals drove Pete Quaife crazy eh? Yeah well, screw Pete Quaife, it's Ray Davies song. He didn't need Quaife. Davies is a genius, Quaife is a bass player.

  • He is also a good musician in his own right. You don't have to be rude.

  • @theface07 But friend, Pete was an exceptional bassist with some incredible runs in Milk Cow Blues, It's Alright and many more. He also was a perfect match with Dave as they were the ravers. RIP, Pete.

  • awesome

  • Rare clip of an obscure song. Kinks bassist Pete Quaife - a rock and roller - said singing the la-la backgrounds on this song drove him crazy.

  • vunderbar
