  • Rob was also exposed and swept off the scene in the mid 90's for copying other people's art. I believe it was even featured in Wizard magazine. I'm surprised he still has a job in the art industry.

  • Rob does seem like a pretty nice guy to be honest although, I personally think he art is pretty bad. I'd like to see him improve though actually and I hope he has been. Are there any Liefeld haters here that hated his work before but think its good or better now?

  • no one is perfect..

  • I've heard a lot of bad things about this guy but he doesn't seem cocky at all, I like how he can admit to his mistakes, his art isn't for me personally but he seems like a really nice guy :)

  • @Guumijuice he needs to take some time and master anatomy instead of just admitting his mistakes. His layouts, character design, and anatomy knowledge are very weak. As a comic artist, this shouldn't be. It doesn't take much to sit down and just study.

  • @Blastaar7 Yes I realise that, I too am a artist, and taking critique and studying from life is one of the best things you can do for your art. I was merely commenting on his personality

  • FLYING BOBS

  • i draw a lot better..and im poor....thats sad lol

  • Gotta say the more I get past the caricature of Rob Liefeld the more I actually find myself liking the guy. I bought Alan Moore's run on youngblood today along with the recut volume and see what my own conclusion plays out to be. Either way he seems like a polite guy.

  • You know I like some of Robs art, i like some of his books, my big complaint , and I am amazed he gets away with it, is that he steals other peoples art work. That's insane.

  • If they hire this no talent asshole then Marvel should hire anyone who want to work for them.

  • Douche.

  • This guy doesn't seem like he's in a good mood, anymore. I just saw the "Comic Greats" series with Jim Lee, back in the early 90's I think, and he was a lot more cheerful in those videos. Did something terrible happen in his life since that time?

  • a lot of things., eally many people started hating him because of many things back in the 90´s. Hes a really nice guy in fact, many criticize him for his art, i believe his average but not REALLY bad, there are worse artists.

  • It's true there are a lot of worse artists but Rob gets bagged on by people who can't do better (YES, I am of the school of 'if you can't do it, you have no right to tell me how to'). In truth I dont have a problem with it as art aside he tells a story fairly well. He's eased off the splash pages of the 90s and he's a fine artist. Stroman who did X-Factor I believe...6/7 months back? Now THAT is worthy of criticism.

  • @DigitalTransfer I don't know man. I don't like him because he steals characters. Like that guy that "wasn't" Captain America, but really was. I don't even remeber his name. Aside from that, yeah his arts not the best but that can be improved. It's not really his fault people give him jobs for subpar artwork. And yeah, there are VERY MANY way worse artists out there, like a good deal of the ones drawing now.

  • 'if you can't do it, you have no right to tell me how to'

so if you go to a restaurant and your food sucks you have no right to complain because you aren't a chef?

that mentality is stupid and illogical.

  • @DigitalTransfer

You're not a professional art critic, you have no right to tell someone else how to critique art.

  • The entire internet grew to despise every fiber of his being.

  • i don't hate him at all, and i haven't talked to a lot of people that do.

he's a great guy and really chill. his art is fucking ridiculous (POUCHES AND MUSCLES) but he's a really nice guy. disliking his art doesn't mean you have to dislike the artist, that's grade school mentality.

  • The Captain America pic is terribal, I've just seen it. He makes men look very womanly in the face.

  • That's all you can say about it? You didn't notice anything else wrong?

  • interesting person.

    artwork sucks though

  • Draw some feet, Rob!

  • nice

  • tiny feet

  • Rob Liefeld is a f*king fa get

    He's a piece of sh1t artist.

  • Oh really? Where's your award winning multi-million dollar selling comic? Oh that's right...you don't have one. Then again I wouldn't expect some one who uses and censors the words 'fuck' and 'faggot' and STILL manages to spell them wrong to actually do much with their life...you produce a book and help found a company and THEN talk. 'Til then, shut the fuck up.

  • i think he aint crap,i just think his style is different

  • I still have in my collection the 1st issue of Youngblood signed by Matt Damon!!!

  • Why did Matt Damon sign your comic book? What did he have yto do with it?

  • his faces arnt great and he isnt realy consistent but he aint crap man

  • Levi's 501 commercial.

  • at least he admits to how stupid that big torso cap drawing was. haha

  • @subfighter316 but he charts it up as a fluke... failing to admit that HE'S ONE OF THE WORST FUCKING COMIC BOOK ARTISTS ALIVE YES THAT'S A DEATH THREAT

  • O Look another group of internet fools that wouldnt say anything to the man's face. You are all tough and should be proud of what you have become.

Isnt there a Star Treck convention you are missing?

  • I'm willing to bet that he's not really drawing anything on that piece of paper, which is always mysteriously angled away from us.

    Peace,

    JT

  • Rob Liefeld's art is the reason why I got into comics.

  • Thats great man, Everyone has inspiration. ignore what people say, They only say it because its trendy to hate him

  • yes

  • It was because of Onslaught that the thunderbolts were created

  • If I ever see him, I'm asking him to draw Deadpool for me.

  • desde colombia ,bogota liefeld, ¡great !

  • The industry pratically killed itself with tie-ins and foil covers n shit. You can't blame the 90s on one guy.

  • There's a Comic Book Journal article (available online) that discusses early 90's Image Comics being responsible for nearly killing the industry. They flooded the market with generic characters and bad writing. After that huge surge came the crash.

  • I cant wait for this book!

  • Ha. I don't dig his art, but Liedeld's a cool dude.

  • Dude, the bigger the tits, the better. :D
