  • I NEED TO KNOW QUICK PLSE IT EPIC BC I JUST ORDERED AND PEOPLE TELL ME IT WONT WORK AND I SPENT ALOT OF MY BDAY MONEYY): *** will this mxl 990 mic work with an m audio box and protools?

  • @youngeshoez95 It should work with m-audio box and protools but I have no way of knowing. You will have to check the specifications on the things you are buying. The MXL 990 mic should work with any setup as long as the device provides phantom power to the mic (which the Mobile Pre does).

  • hey i se you have a fast track i just by the mxl 990 and the fast track but the mic do not wanna work so please can you explan to me how i can set up all this ?

  • I have an entire song recorded on three MXL 990 mics, one for bass, guitar, drums. Search "Deep Blue dJinn in the studio, Jan 2011"

  • hi where did u get the stand ?

  • You have to use an audio interface to get it to connect with your computer. In these tutorials I used the Mobile Pre which has 2 XLR connections on the back.

  • I have this microphone , but I dont know how to set it up to my computer . I have a mixer and cables , but how exactly do I set it up to the computer ?

  • What is the size of the shockmount fit 5/8 mic stand

  • @bighappy64 I'm not sure. The shockmount came with the mic and I don't have the stuff here with me anymore to check. I had to send it back to AU when I finished my project.

  • is that foam on the box soundproof?

  • @KiddGuap I think it is just insulation for the mics but it does look like the stuff you would use to soundproof a room.

  • does this attach to a pre amp?

  • @KiddGuap The MXL 990 mic plug into the back of the preamp. You plug the XLR cable into the mic and the other end of the XLR cable into the back of the preamp. On the Mobile Pre there are 2 slots to connect XLR cables so you can have 2 mics setup to record audio on your computer.

  • @BludStatic123 You are talkin about a DAW controller. If you want realtime input on your digital mixer from your analog mixer the best choice you have is an USB or Fire Wire mixer if you dont have a very powerful PC. You can also get an PCI audio interface.

Look out for Mackie or Alesis soundboards.

  • how much is the cables

  • @sodmg21 Check out any music store (Long & McQuade or Musicians Friend) . Price depends on length.

  • @BludStatic123 Sorry, but that is outside my area of expertise. When I mention mixers I am referring to audio amps/mixers that you connect to your computer. You may want to have a look at Musician's Friend or Long and McQuade music stores' web sites.

  • @BludStatic123 Sorry but I don't use it so I have no idea. Most audio programs should work the same way. The only way to have separate tracks recording onto 2 mics is by using a mixer and software that will recognize 2 separate inputs. Good luck.

  • @BludStatic123 The mics plug into the Mobile Pre audio interface. There are 2 XLR connections on the back. If using Audacity remember to set the preference to stereo rather than mono. Left channel is one mic while right is the other.
