  • im thinking about buying this cab, except with a Jet City 50w head

  • that first backing track sounds like a Since I've Been Loving You inspired backing track......love that Jet King...Trying to find someone who will trade me my Epi Les Paul Standard for Jet King. Keep on keepin' on man. Peace Brother.

  • Hi , are you running the effect in front of the amp , or are they o\in the effect loop ? how well does the amp handle effects in front ? Thank you

  • @gorbulus sounds like someone is jealous

  • are you running the heads simulaneously? also are your effects set stereo to the heads? if so i might have to copy your rig? hahah.

  • @t0psecretshit Yes, precisely. :)

  • @RRViper800TT Practice does. This was over a year and a half ago.

  • That white sheet is hiding his shrine to Justin Bieber...

  • you have so much awesome tone for guitar, and the shittiest tone for drums. cmon man. your bass sucks too. dont get me wrong, your skills on guitar and the retarded amount of money you spent to play next to your bed sounds amazing, however, the rest is weaker than obama"s promises. you suck

  • @gorbulus First of all, where the hell in the video did I say I played the drums or the bass? Get your facts straight before you go open your big mouth. I picked this track up from the CD of a magazine, the only thing I played on it was the guitar. So, if you're saying you liked the GUITAR playing then thank you. If you want to listen to drum tones go to my other videos. My last 6 videos are drums specific and plenty good tone. YOU suck. And you talk too much.

  • @sixstringsensei Looks like I'm back in high school. By the way, I had a studio a few months before this video and I also had one recently. This video is like 2 years old. I mainly play drums and have played hundreds of shows. ON DRUMS. Guitar is a hobby.

  • @gorbulus Where's your video??

  • is the JTK good for classic rock and jazz??

  • @punkcoustic Classic rock.. YES! Jazz... mmm. Maybe. I wouldn't use it for that though.

  • after this video i decidet not to sell anymore my jetking 2

cause this is a great guitar!!!

  • Please tell me you do NOT own all that gear and only play in your bedroom?!

  • @Addzam I own all that gear. I play in my bedroom. I play out. I have a studio. I've been playing drums too for over 15 years. Played dozens of shows... Close to hundreds. Played 3 times a weeks at church for over 3 years. Then for 2 years in Maui, every week as well. And now in Cali. Busy, busy, Mostly on drums, but also on guitar and recording.

  • sell some of that gear and get some lessons

  • @diminishedlogic Better idea... Sell your own, buy a plane ticket, and come kiss my ass. -D

  • @sixstringsensei better idea, how about you pay me to teach u. cuz i can sound good with a squier and a telephone amplifying it

  • @sixstringsensei This is a wonderful responce. NICE!

  • @sixstringsensei

No, he's right. You know what you're doing, and your playing isn't terrible, but it lacked feeling and seemed like you were almost on the edge of floundering about. It wasn't very confident or natural sounding. Like I said, you're not bad, just not great. It seems like you've spent a lot of time with the gear and not enough with the guitar.

  • It's funny when people can't afford tube amps, and then say that solid states are equal to tube amps. And then the people who like tube amps more are purists. What..ever...

  • yea its ok if its effects like delay or chorus (not distortion) but the tubes are the ones amplifying the dam guitar and givin it the gain in the preamp.. no one in hell cant make a SS amp sound like tubey sweetness

  • @FingerLickinGravy67 i actually know a guy by the name of tony smotherman (look him up) that has a 50ish watt SS marshal combo and can make it sound just as good as my boutique tube amp ... you dont hear people with that touch often but there are people out there that can make shitty amps sound good

  • how do you play through 2 heads?

  • Check out my other videos. There's one where I explain it all. Cheers, D

  • You gotta love how ppl bitch about how tubes are so much better than solid state and then proceed to put a bunch of fucking solid state pedals in front of their tube amp! LOL!

  • Even in that situation though you're still gonna get a richer, more organic tone than if you ran a bunch of pedals in front of a solid state amp!

But yeah, tube "purists" are funny XD. If something sounds good, thats all that matters.

  • There's so many things wrong with this comment my head just went into overload. Valve driven pedals are gimmicks, usually. Amps make your tone, pedals change the signal into the amp, simple boosts and ods only push the amp harder and tighten it up, modulation and time based effects can't be recreated in a single amp, par modeling amps and effects like reverb and tremolo.

Awesome tone, amazing set up. I've been craving a jet king and a new amp. Maybe this is what i've been looking for.

  • @beckyjc I must say that the opposite is also true. I have some Damage Control pedals with tubes (mainly for the distortion they put out), and it works very well through a solid state amp. It's not the same as the other way around, but it's perfect in case you have a SS amp and want to keep volume (and dynamics) to living room levels and benefit from true tube distortion and response.

  • awsome duden finally

  • @osensei2987

Most pedals are solid state dumb ass. If you dont want a pedal to screw with your tone you need pedals with true bypass, not tube pedals.

  • Good day. How much of what we're hearing is the AMP itself, as opposed to your plethora of pedals? You mention that you're running effects thru the loop; how about the drive tone itself? Is that the Amp, or an OD? (BTW ... how's the Rebel handle OD's thru the fronend?) Thanks for the clip. Rgds, andrew

  • If I remember correctly the pedals are all off. In this video the OD is the actual Rebel. I might have put a bit of something with the Jimi pedal, but only in the first half of the vid. I use a TS808 OD through the front and now I also have an OCD. They go great through the front. Plus, I never fun ODs in the loop. Thanks, Danny

  • @abradfordajb it takes OD and DS pedals very well! I push mine with a Tone Freak SEVERE and really LOVE it. Fulltone Fat Boost 3 is also VERY nice, and the Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive V1 also works very well; only the Cool Cat Drive V1 not so good however.

  • very nice tone man! I think you like JTK more than strat lol! I got the same guitar

  • how much did you drop to have the 2 egnater heads and the cab? how do you like that as opposed to a dual channel amp

  • I bought them when they first came out, so I paid top dollar. Actually, I got one of the heads with a 10% off. But anyway, it's pretty cool for many things, but I still prefer a dual channel amp. I sometimes combine 1 rebel with a Mesa Lonestar and an amp switcher for a similar effect.

  • You should try doing more hammer-ons and pull-offs. Your lead work lacks variety, and it would help spice things up a bit.

  • Thanks for the tip. I practice almost everyday, to get better quickly. I'm working on improving my legato. So, we'll see more in future videos. -D

  • i doubt you play at all

  • Me too.

  • I WAS REFERING TO MR.HAMMER-ON,PULL-OFFS WHEN I SAID I DOUBT YOU PLAY AT ALL.(M55ikael)

  • Hehe. Oh, I see. That's good then. I was joking around with my comment anyway.

  • playing live, how do you run your reverb in this amp, straight on in the FX loop?

  • I'm currently running a Hardwire Delay and a Hardwire Reverb through the effects loop. Couldn't be happier.

  • Yeah, keep jammin. I have a rebel too,and it has quickly become my favorite amp for sitting home and jammin.I can't seem to find any bad tones in this baby!

  • hEY SIXSTRINGSENSI.dON'T YA LOVE IT WHEN YOU GET THESE FOOLS ON HERE THAT CRITISIZE YOUR PLAYING.your doing us a favor basically, and all they can do is complain instead of listening to the tone.Screw em!

  • Haha, thanks! That's the nature of YouTube man. Everybody just hacks everybody else apart. It's just sad. But hey. It isn't stopping me from doing music and vids...

  • Very nice vid!Sweet tone ,no show-off,melodic.Cool.Should i go on ;-) ? Like it!Well done!

  • Thank you! Very cool. I'm glad this video is doing well. It's received better response than the review vids I did for the amp.

  • you are way hard on your strings just relax on both your picking hand and your fret hand and you won't be too bad

  • those bends need a lot of improvement.... you just keep going in the wrong pitch

  • Yup, one of the hardest things to master! It's all in the ears. Practice, practice. That's why we're here, right!!?? Cheers, -D

  • sounds dec to me. has kinda a j mascis tone to it ;)

  • Thanks Chopper. You can't please everyone though :) Cheers.

  • Nice tone indeed. What pick ups are we hearing? Tell us about the settings. Thanks, man.

  • The pickups are the stock Ibanez pups that come in the JTK2. They are obviously cheaper pups than others, but they sounds great. The sound can be a bit thin at times, specially off bridge pup, but for me this is a good contrast to my ash Strat's thicker tone. I'm running the gain knob on the amps a bit high (around 3 o'clock) but the master is low. So you are mainly hearing preamp distortion. These amps sound even sweeter when cranked!

  • that amp sounds beautiful! I'm looking to buy one of these, but I'm not entirely sure I have the money to do so. :( The bigger problem that I have is that I have a custom shop les paul and its not at all living up to its potential through my VOX. Let me ask you, how exactly is that working with the two amps? Like what exactly is it doing that you can't do with one?

  • There is not much difference between having one or two heads over the 2x12. You just get a bit more power and a slightly different voicing. Currently I'm only running one alongside a Mesa Lonestar combo. You'll be just as happy with one. There are a few other advantages of having two. Check out my 2 other videos with this setup. I talk a bit about the benefits in the text comments of those vids... -D

  • excuse me but what vox do you own? i have a nice tube half stack....sounds great for my gibson......

  • its a valetronix AD50VT, hybrid tube. Its alright, but I could have something a lot better

  • I actually own a little AD15VT. I gotta say, I really like it. It's not an Egnater or a Mesa, but it sounds great for the price. I keep mine in the living for as a practice amp. I like the idea of simply switching it on and playing. With tubes it's a bit more complicated.

  • yeah its good for what it is no doubt, i just wish i had something better

  • Excellent tone..!

What are you using for reverb?

Are you running a reverb pedal or did you add some in the mastering?

    Sound excellent..!

    Thanks for posting

  • Thanks! The signal is going through the Jimi pedal (which I never turned on!) and then to the amp switcher and finally to the amps. So the pedalboard is not even connected. The reverb you are hearing is a touch I added in Logic Pro. I only did this and a touch of compression as I wanted people to be able to hear the true character of the amp. You can't see it on that board, but I recently got a Digitech Hardwire RV-7 reverb. I think it works amazingly well with this amp.

  • I thought I recognized the 2nd backing track

  • It's from an old issue of Total Guitar Mag. Actually, both tracks are. So, you might even have it.

  • you damn sexy guitar plaiya!!!!!
