@Namerifrats It's worked so far. The number of passengers using the service tripled after the third round trip was added.

@Namerifrats the railroads in the UK are all privately owned...trackage is in government hands...check it out...don't make a judgment based on what have now...check Europe...even Finland does better...holiday greets to you :)

@granskare If nothing else, the European system has the possibility of making it so that the freight railroads can't bog down Amtrak. The problem is that Amtrak converted the private passenger service into a government system, I don't see it going the other way. That would be dumb.
