  • Long Live National Sovereignty, Ded Reds!!!

  • Pound is so poorly represented on You Tube. His poems need a great deal of introductory material that is missing from YT. Are there any documentary style videos someone can post ? He predicted the man of letters would be extinct by 2000. Is the modern man of video superior ? Pound comes from the school of "The Poet As Social Consciousness, Leader and Guardian Of Historical Values." Where is his equal today ?

  • @9claudius --poetry of the order of ezra pounds cannot be understood or explained in sound bites. even his critical prose is dense, complex stuff that only makes sense (sometimes) in the larger context of his time. tho claimed by conservatives, his criticisms of capitalism find defenders on the left. i dont believe anyone today comes close to being his equal in poetic achievement. gary snyder may come from the same "school".

  • This is probably the speech where he warns the Americans to now fall for the lies of the Jewish bankers and controlled press.

  • He was definitely a fascist, but unfortunately, a great poet. How oxymoronic.

  • @marinagipps

people today have not yet managed to look so free things that happened almost 70 years ago

    why?

freedom and 'just propaganda today as yesterday

i tell you this fascismo was not nazi

does not happen often that a government

invite a poet like Pound to speak freely on the radio

  • @marinagipps --im not sure i understand what you mean. do you mean it was unfortunate that a fascist was a great poet, or that a great poet was a fascist, or that being both is somehow an oxymoron? im guessing that you are trying to express your distaste for fascism, but im having difficulty making sense of what youve written. are you suggesting that a persons political views could prevent him from being a great poet or artist? i have never thought it unfortunate that someone was a great poet

  • @marinagipps Zeig Heil!!! Ezra Pound

  • @marinagipps not really

  • @marinagipps I agree...

  • Ezra Pound on Usury on Italian radio during WW II (March 15, 1942) The enemy is Das Leihkapital. Your Enemy is Das Leihkapital, intemational, wandering Loan Capital [malicious pun on Wandering Jew]. Your enemy is not Germany, your enemy is money on loan… The big Jew is so bound up with this Leihkapital that no one is able to unscramble that omelet… You let in the Jew and the Jew rotted your empire, and you yourselves out-jewed the Jew..And the big Jew has rotten every nation,,

  • @marinagipps Not necessarily an oxymoron. Just a shame.

  • the second half of this ( "Forty years ago"...."Brooks Adams when I was having a shot"....."Might have accelerated me in giving him a little publicity. In fact......") is from 4-13-1942. the overall effect of desnos' audio is interesting.......fragments of something that sounded fragmented to begin with.....

  • "Ezra Pound speaking from Roma. For the United States to be making war on Italy and on Europe is just plain damned nonsense. And every native born American of (?) stock knows that it is plain downright damned nonsense. And for this state of things Franklin Roosevelt......" this is from 4-16-1942. the remainder of this sounds like cut-up bits and pieces.......

  • @majorhoop "And every native born American of -American- stock."

  • I can't really hear what he saying.

  • Hard to find a new point of view

this time are the worst in planet history

    but also the best

    we can change the world

    NOW

  • true then ,true today...

    great find...

  • bwsmith7...Ezra was a "genius", plain & simple. He told the truth about the Federal Reserve and they deemed him a lunatic and incarcerated him. Better to be crazy, than to be a fool...

  • Yeah I agree. But have no illusions - his fascist politics were disgusting.

  • @janeaustinadmirer

they deemed him crazy to shut him up, not because they thought he was insane. Just make sure you didnt miss that distinction.

  • @KombiPode I was under the impression that he was deemed not fit to stand trial because he had suffered a nervous breakdown. He was locked up in a small cage, out in the open for seven weeks, expecting to be executed for treason. That would be enough to unhinge any man.

  • Pound wished to show to indicate to tell

the way to be happy in spite of the world that is next only the philosophy and l achimia can make this

  • "just vain damned nonsense" sums it up fairly well
