  • Very hard-charging flying with very good skills, but I wonder how long the gyro could handle such a strain. I am sorry to hear of the death of the skilled pilot and I wonder if the crash that killed him was due to structual failure or maybe taking too much of a chance in piloting. Very enjoyable video. Thank you for it.

  • is this a neil hintz machine?

    its got some balls for a two place to do such . moves. the tail wheel is used for landing purpose as to not scratch the machine. but as for taking off with the tail wheel on the ground , means basically trying to take off early ,airspeed/ ground speed-not enough lift

  • I believe Ron Awad has made more severe moves nearer to the ground with his 180 degree reversals with landing. Appreciate very much the sound of the machine itself. From what I've seen with this machine the CLT plays a huge part in the stability of the machine compared to those that do not have CLT. Understand the flying proceedure is very different in the area of executing turns in elevation or with elevation change while in a turn.

  • Very very good piloting. I kept waiting for him to loop that thing though. I've seen rc gyros do it but not full scale. Red Bull does it with a full scale helicopter though. Cool video! 4 stars.

  • Jim Vanek does loops with his Sport Copter Vortex. He performs loops and rolls in air shows in the US.

  • Many autogyros do that, I'm no expert but they seem to be ok with it, it could prevent the machine from tilting back too much too?

  • Actually there is a small wheel at the aft end of the keel. Its purpose is to allow a tilt-back angle stop that allows a greater air mass to flow through the rotor and thus spin it up faster to a safe rpm for takeoff. For landing, it provides a stop angle for this air mass to give the rotor extra lift and braking.

  • It has a wheel on it, just a small one.

    you touch the tail wheel just before landing to straighten out.

    He is dragging the tail on takeoff because of the unusually steep takeoff.
