It was a sketch devised by kenrg, I have my own version if you care to see it, almost identical. We call this sort of humour "deadpan" in England, I wasn't sure if Americans would "get" it, most have;)

This was a riot. lol And yes, we Americans have deadpan humor over here too. You would have to have had a pan whack you in the head as a small toddler not to "get it" hehe This reminds me of when I was a kid and would go to the mountains for the summer. I would say I was from NY and someone would often say something like "Do you know Joe? He lives in Brooklyn". :P

Only in truth the reverse is true. The more you have a pan accidentally whack you in the head as a kid, the more deadpan your humor and the more you have a tendancy to enjoy tin pan alley songs :D
