  • Still makes me laugh, 'twas a good day! :)

  • @ajdpadbury Ahh, the good old days :^)

  • Funny!

  • It better, after all the build-up to it...

  • I don't know how I missed this, I don't get notified of all the videos that my subscriptions do. I hope you don't video us when we meet, you know, just in case it gets a bit steamy, I wouldn't want our partners to find out about us!

  • That's what editing is for ;^)

  • The only thing that could have possibly improved this video is a rim shot...

  • budda-bang!!!! lol

  • A rim shot??!! I don't get it....Are you being rude?

  • A reference to a response video I did for Doctor Metropolis last month - Not rude, very funny.

  • I hate when that happens...

    (Good stuff, Ken.)

  • And it happens all too often ;^)

    Thanks!

  • Haha, the good Doc is English.

  • ... or so he wants us to believe...

  • clever

  • Don't worry Ken those English guys are all just still torqued over the Revolutionary War you know...

    Pappy muttered it... *veg*

  • What a riot! lol :)

  • lol

  • well hey im not sure if that was a set up..im guessing it was.. but if not he sure had a attitude.. and if we ever meet ken, there WONT be a camera running first thing..

  • No camera? Then no meeting. It's in my contract ;^)

Well, okay, maybe we can meet first, then roll tape later.

  • It was a sketch devised by kenrg, I have my own version if you care to see it, almost identical. We call this sort of humour "deadpan" in England, I wasn't sure if Americans would "get" it, most have;)

  • yeah, we are pretty dumb that way.. good thing you have"us" figured out..

  • Hehe not one bit! I try and get over twice a year, I am addicted to both the people and the country!:)

  • This was a riot. lol And yes, we Americans have deadpan humor over here too. You would have to have had a pan whack you in the head as a small toddler not to "get it" hehe This reminds me of when I was a kid and would go to the mountains for the summer. I would say I was from NY and someone would often say something like "Do you know Joe? He lives in Brooklyn". :P

Very cute job, You Guys. I will stop by to see your version too, ajdpadbury :)

  • I'm often surprised by who does or does not "get" certain jokes. Glad you enjoyed it and could relate it to your past.

So, do you think "deadpan" has anything to do with being whacked with a pan as you describe?

  • lol yeah i was tryin to make that pan/head connection.

Only in truth the reverse is true. The more you have a pan accidentally whack you in the head as a kid, the more deadpan your humor and the more you have a tendancy to enjoy tin pan alley songs :D

  • PS Making a statement like "Only in truth the reverse is true" is enough evidence that I have been in the path of at least one flyin' fryin' pan. :P

  • Those "limeys" can be so testy. When will they ever admit that they don't know what side of the road to drive on!

  • very funny. You do drive on the wrong side of the road though.lol regards, Rob (from near Scotland!)

  • Okay, from now on I'll drive on the left. That might cause some troubles till it begins to catch on, but it's the right thing to do. ;^)

  • What a lovely warm meeting!

  • The video is great gruys you are very funny it is just unbeliveable that you met first time you seem to know each other for all life:PPPP

  • Well, we know each other from YouTube - that's better than from real life! Glad you enjoyed.

  • Well one things for sure...ken was that weird when I met him in SF

  • It's only when I'm in SF though. I'm perfectly normal when I'm in Santa Cruz. Really.

  • It looks like you two had great fun making that video. P.S. Like Periurban, I'm from "that" other country to the north too!

  • I hope someday to spend some time in that "place to the north." If I'm still welcome after this video, that is.

  • Ha Ha, LOL at this one! I found at our midwest meetup that we WERE just like our videos! But you guys did a great job "staging" this one! Would rather meet you than Renetto BTW!

  • LOL - Thanks, I'd rather meet up with you than with Renetto (again) as well. The bit SF gathering last February was a lot of fun, and yes, most people were pretty much as expected. For better or worse ;^)

  • "I met renetto" - silence -- checks watch...

    Brilliant!

  • That's pretty much the usual reaction to that statement. I don't tend to use it much.

  • I was expecting a good old fashin fist fight!

    LOL... good job guys!

  • Yes, well, it seems you both got along swimmingly...it seems...so.....uh, right then, off I go....

  • That looked like great fun! Ken, you don't know me and... well... my videos feature mainly dogs jumping thru hoops and cats playing the piano... but maybe we could meet up sometime.

  • Well, you know, I'm a little busy that day, but my cat, George, would love to meet you. He doesn't play piano, but he's a groove king on the bongos.

  • Purrfect!

    How high can George jump?

  • ROFL! So, did you two have a great time? I take it you hit it off pretty good.

  • We did - This was just the warm-up to a wonderful day. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • hahaha That was great! I saw the vid Anthony put out too. What a fun idea! That silence even made me uncomfortable and I wasn't even there! :-)

  • It took a few takes to get that 14 seconds of nothing; we kept bursting out laughing.

  • your vids get better and better. Always a pleasure! 5 stars! Hooray for England!

  • Thank you sir. Huzzah!

  • That chap reminded me of my stable boy, he has the same lowered brow and moorish lips. It is no wonder you were at odds with him. Next time try visiting with Royalty, we are much more entertaining!

  • So, you're telling me that not all British are royals? Another myth shot to hell.

  • hehe, that was fun! Cool vid. :)

  • fellow vloggers are just strangers who get stranger when you meet them

  • Exactly - myself included ;^)

  • LOL. That was funny. Your hair is kewl. Now I'm wishing I had my hair long all around. You could pass as a version of William Shakespeare when he was younger.

  • How did you know I was getting ready to do some Shakespear vlogs...?

  • brilliant (and MR Funny is here as well and he agrees!) - and seriously there is always a danger that people from YT won't be quite as you expect in person but I'm sure Anthony was a great person :)

  • He was great - And has a reply to your questions in the next video I'll post a bit later.

  • Some of us are quite possibly better in real life.

    :)

  • I thought that went pretty well.

  • Almost as well as your videos with Renetto!

  • lol

  • LOL. I met a blogmate back in January, and it went poorly. I had a sense I was failing an audition I'd never signed up for, if you know what I mean.

  • So, do you have the video of that meetup? Actually, this meeting went very well. Perhaps because we'd already talked about this idea of meetups gone wrong.

  • This was so spot on! I've had a few uncomfortable meetings just like this with blind dates, rarely seen relatives and long lost friends. Sometimes, superficial is just as deep as it needs to be!

  • oh, and did I tell you that i am once a year in Palo Alto? Can i have your phone number?

  • Definitely - send me a message here a couple weeks ahead of your visit and we'll plan something!

  • Thanks! As soon as i know my next biztrip i'll contact you - middle of next year i think...

  • Haha! I blame the lamp for the disaster - it is the ugliest one i've ever seen!

  • Yeah... the Lamp... That's it!

  • Hahaha great follow up to the first part : )

  • Ha ha ha.. interesting to see your version.. not that it's much different from Anthony's.. :D Thanks both for entertaining us.. :)

  • Everyone in England DOESN'T know each other? Huh, news to me.

  • Really. And so touchy about it too!

  • Those damned pompous limeys!

  • ...well, that was awkward.. :O)

  • You've never really met him. So you meet him in his hotel room??Man you were asking for it. Seriously, I was nervous meeting my first you tuber, Ravensinger, and we had a great time.

  • Hmmm... you have a point there. Next time, we'll meet in the pub.

  • perfectly awkward!

    hahaha

  • I have lots of practice in being awkward. Thanks!

  • Lol good job matey ^^ nice hair btw

  • Thanks. I suppose I did get a bit windblown by the end of that day.

  • i was being serious but lol nvm eh

  • hehehe...hilarious! Yup, worst nightmare alright!...*wink* Fun video. Hope that you all really did have a great time.

  • We really did have a great day together. In addition to the three minutes of video here, there's much more of us cracking up and having a terrific time. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Brilliant yet again Ken! hmarty :)

  • Great!! Very funny piece, and real too. Well photographed, the cutting, etc. Gee, until today I wanted to meet you, but now I'm not so sure!!

  • I'm not so sure that I want to meet me either.

  • Hehe... I heard my name and giggled like a little school girl. Well... I am a little school girl but... I much littler school girl. You never should have brought up the driving issue. Those people from across the pond are sensitive about their wrong side of the road problem! :-)

  • Just the names that popped into my head. Actually, I asked him about the "wrong side of the road" thing again later... Stay tuned for the second video...

  • lol now this is class faved.

  • Thank you!

  • love the watch checking... LOL

  • Good job! Felt very surreal watching yours and my versions of this! Well, if you are ever in Lond... oh, nevermind! (Come to Ipswich instead LOL!)Thanks again for a great day, buddy:)

  • Especially if they don't know you're coming...

  • Yes... Especially then...
