So, for that matter, did Rock Hudson, who briefly shared a cottage with Dean in Marfa Texas during the filming of Giant and thought Dean was an undisciplined brat. Dean thought Hudson's acting was wooden.

Very interesting. That's the voice of Kevin McCarthy who appears himself at the end. McCarthy is still alive at 94 (or close to 94), and his sister was Mary McCarthy. And if you don't know who he was, get the original INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS or a lot of original TWIGHLIGHT ZONE.

He was also apparently close to both Brando and Clift, and was one of the first at the scene of Clift's big auto accident, along with Liz Taylor.

Every time I see this clip I am struck by how different Monty and Marlon were. Even in this little home movie they both have tremendous screen presence and astonishing looks, but they both command your attention is opposite ways. This is late, but I don't think Marlon Brando ever met James Dean in person. Dean would call him and Monty, which I hear they weren't very happy about it. Brando had affairs with men, but many actors back then experimented. It's almost ceramonial.

The most famous picture of Dean and Brando shows Brando slyly flipping James Dean the bird while scratching his nose with his middle finger. Brando thought Dean was a freak. When a huge hollywood star makes an enemy the enemy often sets out to paint the star as a homophobe to damage their career since so many people in show business are gay. Poor Monty died in the mid-60's while only in his mid-40's. Unfortunately, drink, drugs and mental illness/depression did him in at far too young an age. His near-fatal car accident in the 50's took away his devastatingly beautiful looks and it was all downhill from there.
