And the battle for souls continues. Even the very elect will be decieved. We are promised that the world will love us if we turn from the church. Prophecy fulfilled in Eva.
Conquering cognitive dissonance is one of the most difficult and painful things to do. It takes courage and intellectual integrity of the highest order, and I admire that you've done that. You set a great example for others, whether you realize it or not.
''Oooh!, those mormans are so bad!!!!!!!, They messed up my life so now I'm gonna be an EX-MORMON. I'll fix them mormans, I'll do a youtube vid on 'em and show 'em how happy I am ''
the Mormon church thinks its ok to treat people like trash, but I don't. I was called a bunch of nasty names by a few Mormons just because I told them I didn't believe in magic underwear. names like Nazi, Antichrist, Hitler, things like that. not to be judgmental but I thought Mormons were taught to respect others. I mean how am I suppose to have respect for people who trash others, doesn't matter the circumstance, I always try to treat people with some level of decency but guess Mormons don't.
honestly, i was baptized in the lds church yesterday and i felt like i was forced into doing it. i wasnt comfortable before it and i got a very sick feeling after it. i truly do believe that the spirit of God can answer your questions and reveal the truth to you, but i also believe the book of mormon is completely false.
people are different & i can understand, im an ex mormon my self, the respect is still there & i still believe im a child of god, its just that my beliefs are different to the mormon ways now that im older things have never been more clear & my mnd has never been more open, im at peace with my self more than i was when i was child, i still believe in God i just dont believe the same things to when i was child, call it lack or faith if you like but God allows my heart to feel & its always good
I've extensively researched the church's history, read every anti- mormon thing that I could get ahold of, and in the end - my testimony of the church is stronger than before. The difference is, I'm not a blind believer. I know that the people in the church are human and that sometimes things were not perfect. That has nothing to do with whether the gospel is true or not, but that is something each person had to find for themselves. I'm glad she is at peace with her life.
@mrskatayers That's a very mature attitude. One sadly that isn't common, either for Mormons or non-Mormons. I'm not sure I get the "testimony" notion, which seems to keep people immune to facts and reason they don't want to hear, but I think in your own way, you get it - the essentials, I mean. Seeing the forest for the trees is often more important than the details. I hope that made sense! It was intended as a compliment.
Something needs to be clarified here in the comments section. The teachings of the Mormon Church do not ring true for everyone, and for some they can be stifling. At the same time, the Mormons have a right to practice their beliefs just as everyone else does. Mormons calling ex-Mormons "fake" and non-Mormons calling the Book of Mormon "ridiculous" only creates fights that no one will ever win. As we've seen in the video, beliefs are entirely personal; none of us have the right to judge.
i apologize to eva personally. i did not mean to say anything offensive. i just believe in my church. doesn't anyone else believe their church. why did you start going to your church? isn't it because your parents have taught you? but i do apoligize

yawn. Why did the text have to say they were back together? How come she did not say that?? LIke most videos from this group they cannot state any facts. Just feelings
@lpsbullion I put it in a title because people complained that it wasn't clear enough when I edited the other footage together and it was the most important point of the whole video.
Anything to back that up? I mean it's not like you can just hire actors to do this.. since that kind of thing would be exposed in a rather.. dramatic way.. rather easily.
So why do you say "this story is".. rather then you "think" it is?
One should be very careful about making those kinds of statements unless you can actually offer up some evidence.
Karlsmith, we only accomplished nothing by bieng the fastest growing religion in world in a short period of time and building billion dollar temples all over the world. Yeah.
@Iihatedanielhesgay this is a weird position to take from from someone advocating a belief that thinks that the Catholic church (more numerous, faster growing (just by children alone) and more wealthy than some countries) is false and worthless.
@karlsmith00 First respect our beliefs, i´ts ok to disagree, but you cannot say all these atrocities for others, speak for yourself, you can say: " in my opinion lds is a lie,so Joseph Smith." but not include everybody, you´re saying that is a lie and period, there´s no other way it cannot be.
@1firsvy nope. i don't have to respect anything that i don't. i respect your right to believe whatever you crap you want, but i don't respect the beliefs themselves. i can say whatever i want. watch.
mormonism is a fraud. joseph smith was a lying skank. he had 36 wives (some of whom already had husbands) and he was a convicted fraud too.
you actually think i care that you want me to say "it's my opinion"? it's not my opinion. he was a fraud who would be in sex rehab today.
@karlsmith00 I don´t know how you´re raised, your home or anything, but i can tell hat whatever you say it´s not trustworthy. It´s our belief and period. We don´t attack your point of you. What you say just proves me that this is the only true church. By using rancid replies you lose credit.
and i'm sure you know that because the garden of eden really was in jackson county, missouri, is that right?
nobody cares that it's your belief. get over it. your beliefs are stupid. this isn't my word. all of the things i said about joseph smith are true. he was a lying whore and a convicted fraud.
@karlsmith00 What i am trying to say is you think that and i don´t. and life moves on. Maybe you were excomunicated because you´re asked to repent and now you´re ticked for this. Only because i am not budhist doesn´t mean that i have to try to prove that Christ is the way. i can share my creed, but never try to attack and criticize. We live in a free country.
Out of simple morbid curiosity alone, can you please tell me what it was about the Mormon history that changed your mind about "The Church." ? I would really like to know and also where I can find them for myself.
@MsCerealMuncher I had the same experience as her and the church history that I found and went off of was in the LDS churches own church archives. It was quite the experience (I live in Utah where everyone is Mormon and if you don't believe it you are an outcast in the eyes of most). Then also studying the Book of Mormon, quotes from "prophets"... There are just contradicting thing and a lot of terrible things like racist quotes.
@ilovealyssagreener No one will stop the work from progressing, it will go forth nobly and boldly. This is God´s church, Jesus is our savior and redeemer, i know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, the book of mormon is true, Christ leads his church through authorized servants, i believe and know that.
@1firsvy haha okay buddy, that's fine you think that. BTW Thomas S Monson is an ass hole in person. What I don't understand is why are all these Mormons spending so much time watching ex Mormon videos anyway? Don't you know it's against your religion to read or listen to any anti-Mormon literature. =]
@ilovealyssagreener trying to open people´s eyes. trying to show you that hate, intolerance and disrespect won´t change people´s creeds. May God show you the right path. guide you and your family. That the Holy Ghost might touch your heart.

@ilovealyssagreener I know all about it. What are you gonna do about it, it´s our creed, boss. By attacking a prophet of God you show that you have just read about made up facts that are all over the internet. In your mind we all have horns, we are not Christians, we have sundry wives and what not. You should first visit us at Lds.org

What I find funny is now the Mormon church is scrambling to show off their minority members and exploit everything about them except what exactly being a Mormon means. A lot of people who epitomize the image that Mormonism had for itself, white with blonde hair, are finally waking up and leaving the church.
Ah, the typical "I hated myself and realized it was someone or something else's fault, so now I have something to blame forever and will try to convince everybody that I am happy in doing so" story. Way to go Eva!! LMAO!!!
@shooster11 careful - you're trivializing someone else's experience. that leaves you open to being treated the same way. mormons want to be taken seriously, right up until you start taking them seriously, then they say "you just don't understand". it takes courage to leave a church - any church. I appreciate her candor and hope she lives a happy and fulfilled life!
Aw. I cried watching this. I watched all of these videos, and they were all equally touching, but I felt a special connection tot his one. I'm so happy for Eva.

no there is nothing you can help me with the only reason i found this was beacause i was being silly and started looking up mormon videos
i dont understand how you have a bad life beacause of the church
i am a mormon
so this make no differnce to me because i believe in this church
you should take the time to understand how come you feel confused or angered. dont just leave the church the more and more my family read the scriptures the more i feel the holy spirt come to me im only 12 years old
@FredDummiDokiWinbii Doesn't it bother you that Jehovah's Witnesses and other churches teach children lies from a very young age? Why are those children so sure about their religion?
@iamanexmormon They believe whatever they want, so do you and all of us. You cannot say something is lie if you do not know, you ´ve never been there. They can be lies to you, i respect that, but you cannot say it´s a lie for everyone. speak for yourself my friend.
@iamanexmormon I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and we were taught that we were the only group that had God's approval and that every other group was false. When I was 12, I believed that we had THE truth so much that I voluntarily spent my entire summer going door to door preaching about the truth that only Jehovah's Witnesses could show them. At 12, it's easy to be sure that you're right. After you've lived a while you learn how easy it is to be wrong.
@FredDummiDokiWinbii You obviously have a lot to learn. Please look into it on your own and do not just believe it because your parents or others has told you that it is true. Also, don't just look at info from the church but look at it from all sides. You will be surprised at how many appalling things about the church can be easily verified by reading the journal of discourses or church history. I left the church only after I verified the stories through official church publications.
@beadheadbrassie yes your right i shoulnt just believe i have reasons to believe but
they are kind of hard for me to explain i went to my fist girls camp and i gave a testamonie nowing its true i could feel the holy spirit there at that very moment there are others but very hard to explain
@FredDummiDokiWinbii You're 12? Wait until you get older, get independent from your parents and want to find out for yourself, and discover concepts like "confirmation bias", and getting exposed to more people of different faiths, and being unable to deny things that contradict what you currently believe.
@FredDummiDokiWinbii I understand why you don't understand. You are young and have a lot to learn. If your parents are like mine, they told you not to befriend people who weren't Mormon, and to not go to other churches. So as you can see it is hard to know the truth if you are only allowed to experience one thing. There is so much to learn, experience, and enjoy out in the world. I hope you eventually get a chance to enjoy everything this world has to offer!
Mormon is a brainwashing dangerous cult. Very unfair for kids to be born mormons and be brainwashed since little. One of the highest rates in anti-depressants and suicides are in Utah, why?
@marciotube3001 WHY? because they brainwash you and make you think you have to live the way they want you to live. It consumes your life (your time and what you do with it and how you think) What you can and can't do..... Imagine there are adults out there that think it's a huge sin to watch a rated R movie... etc. They've got you chanting songs with chorus's like " Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, follow the prophet, he knows the way" ! The culture is very harmful to many people.
This isn't a channel to bash Mormons, it is a channel to show support for those who are Mormon and are also confused about their religion, yet too afraid to come out about it. I think the MormonMessages channel is a lot more brainwashing...
I was brought up in atheist family, luckily they weren’t bad parent (not saying atheist bad parents), i had difficult life, stuff that should not happen. I had first encounter with Jesus on camp (not Mormon Jesus), he said few words (through person) that had big impact complete stranger able to say stuff like that. However i did nothing about it. Then i did do something. i then asked Christ question like should i follow you. Answer was yes. My name is X and I'm an Ex Potential Mormon.
If there are any members of the LDS Church that watch this video and have feelings of doubt please look up on youtube or google the talk given by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland "Safety for the Soul"
@dkp121890 no!!! they should keep looking, searching and asking the hard questions!! mormons get quite enough of the "go mormonism" message already. why do we never hear from mormon church leaders to study *all* the church history and ask all the hard questions? what are they afraid of?
I feel like I am the husband in her story, except that I'm an agnostic freethinker instead of a bible believing christian now. And I'm still married to my christian wife. We have some difficult and tense conversations sometimes and she frequently yells at me, but we really love each other a lot and I don't think I can see us breaking up over this issue. I love her to bits and would rather hurt myself than hurt her.
And even unto the great and last day ,when all people ,and all kindreds, and all nations and tongues shall stand before God ,to be judged of their works ,whether they be good or whether they be evil
If they be good , to the resurrection of everlasting life ,& if they be evil ,to the resurrection of damnation ;being on a parallel , the one on the one hand &the other on the other hand according to the mercy and the justice &the holiness which is in Christ ,who was before the world began.
I know just how she feels. I couldn't imagine being happy not being Catholic, but not going to church anymore has been the best choice I could have ever made in my life. I am happier and more fulfilled than I ever was as a practicing Catholic. I can't believe I jeopardized my relationship with my husband for so long by trying to make him believe as I did, that the Catholic church was the one true church. I am so happy I made the choice I did!
@carlasue88 I was reared in The Catholic Church as well. Then, I became an agnostic. Unable to completely abandon my beliefs in Catholicism, I found myself knocking on stranger's doors, handing them a pamphlet, telling them I didn't really believe what was in the pamphlet, b just to be on the safe side, they should feel guilty about it anyway.
I had the same experience, where I found information on the internet about church history. I particularly didnt like polygamy. I was 18 and I felt like my life was being ripped apart. I prayed and I told my Father in Heaven though that I didn't believe the church, but I would choose to believe it. It was a decision that I made in my heart and mind. And guess what! The next morning when I woke all doubt disappeared, all depression disappeared, I was happier than I had ever been...
I am now 26 and have been through the temple. I haven’t gone on a mission or been married yet. But I received answers to all my questions when I was 18. Yep there are answers and all you need to do is endure. Church members and ex members don't get it. The church culture is not the church. The church is set up to make families eternal through the covenant. The same covenant from the beginning. If you do not understand the temple that is your own fault
You make the decision to leave the church and are ‘happier’, that is fine, your its choice. That’s what life is about.. choosing.. That and family relationships.. Bottom line is the church and doctrine is true. Doesn't matter what emotions you feel about it. Doesn't matter what your intellect says. The church is still true. The Covenant of God is real. If this is weird or scary to you then that is how it is. I am glad that Eva and her ex are back together.. This life is about families...
I would also like to say on that note people should not blame stake presidents and bishops for their advice.. It is advice… You are you and you DON’T have to follow the advice of your bishop or stake president. By the way, my dad who is ex-mormon of 20years, who has read all and more than you know still believes the parts of the Church… The important doctrines. He will bow before Christ when Christ comes. I hope you people will too.
I am very happy for them, I live in Utah around many Mormons and I really want to read there books to try and understand shat they believe so I can compare to the real world and expand my knowledge about them
Mormons are brainwashed to the point where they don't even realize that they're brainwashed. I'm pretty sure that's what the definition of brainwashing is, though. I urge all of them to look up information that the church tells them not to look up and see the peer reviewed research papers (not performed by BYU) on archaeology expeditions in South America and The Book of Abraham. All modern knowledge and science points to the truth about this religion.
@clearpathtofollw Don't even get me started on the Bible. It's a smaller load of shit than the BoM (the stories are sort of believable since there's archaeological proof of the places mentioned, and 2000 of the passages don't begin with "And so it came to pass" because the people writing/translating it actually knew how to read and were not failed TREASURE HUNTERS). Anyway, this discussion distracts from this video. I'm really happy for this girl and her family :]
So... she left her husband without ever talking to God about it? She decided Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet without ever praying about it? She's right - it is so much easier to blame others than to take personal responsibility for your relationship with God. I am sorry for her pain but a leaders counsel never trumps our personal revelation through prayer. If one has a question about the gospel or trouble with a leader - take it to the Lord.
@iamanexmormon So... if she prayed and received an answer to divorce her husband... why blame her leaders? What am I missing? It still seems as a lack of personal responsibility.
Yeah, Mormons always say that they should seek "personal revalation", but as soon as that personal revalation is something other than what they are "supposed" to believe, it's wrong.
@pele1281 I appreciate your comment but as you can see that's not my issue. It's about taking person responsibility. We are personally responsible for our relationship with God. If she prayed and had a spiritual confirmation that she should divorce her husband, then why in the world would she blame her leaders? This should be between her and the Lord. Blaming others is an easy road when we don't like the consequences for our actions.
These videos seem to be only interviewing Utah mormons, that by nature, dont always have the strongest faith (strange huh?) when compaired to those who live in other parts of the country or other parts of the world... They are usulay mormon because evryone els is, where as when somone whos a mormon form somwhere els usualy does that research BEFORE they join, these (like me) tend to be more aware of the world without mormons, and knowingly convert.
@mjhallfs I'd have to disagree.. i think this is the reality of when someone comes face to face with the truth. It can be very difficult. Especially when you've been believing something else for so long. I don't see or hear them bashing mormons at all, I think it would FEEL that way to mormons bc they are speaking about how they came out of mormonism. If Mormonism is your identity then someone saying they no longer hold to that identity would feel like rejection... I get that.
@PoderdelChino You mean just like the mormonmessages channel? In fact, I'm curious if they even allow any critical comments on their youtube videos. I didn't find any, although I searched for them. I never remove critical comments. They get downvoted perhaps (by those who watch the videos- but then that would be expected wouldn't it?)
If I ever find a comment marked as spam simply because it was pro-Mormon, I always make sure to allow that comment. How is this censoring?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
People say they are happier without it because they look at a religion as a burden. Shame on them. Shame on this youtube channel... seriously. A youtube channel to bash on a religion? Im sorry that your dad raped you as a child and your mom was a drug addict... but you have got to get it through your head that people can have opinions.
This is an absolute joke. Grow up and do something with your life
itt saddens me that ..... they are brought up beliving this their entire life, and yet they miss the whole point of the gosepel, yes church authorities will tell u something, ur parents will tell u some thing, but what you believe has to come from your true heart, it has to come from the conversation between you and the Lord himself , not what other people says and tell u what to do. mormon or not, it's the same with any church or religion, it's a relationship between u and God, not u and others
Found this on Facebook. I'm so glad that this is out here! I am an "ex-mormon" living in Utah and dealing with all that comes with having the family that still believes very strongly. I will definitely be visiting these sites and not feeling alone and like an "outsider" anymore!
OKAY! I have watched MULTIPLE videos of these stories and I've found that just about every single video has a comment from a current Mormon... that says just about the same thing: I feel sorry for them. and something to do with belittling or bashing the individuals character. It's quite condescending.
The reality is Jesus didn't come to earth to tell us to keep the rules better and do better... HELLO that's why he came, we aren't perfect. His Grace is awesome!
Funny thing is, for every person saying this, I could find 10,000 more saying that LDS church saved their life, and lifted them out of depression. I don't doubt that she had a hard time, the LDS church requires a lot of commitment and effort from it's members.
Throwing a bishop and stake president under the bus without the whole story is a little too one sided. I wish her the best of luck.
@keltontrey She had so much commitment to the LDS church that she LEFT HER HUSBAND when instructed by her leaders that it was the right thing to do. She never said anything about having a hard time living the gospel. What she said was that she discovered it wasn't true, which is why you are trying to find a reason to put her down and discount her experience. If the Mormon church saved lives and dispelled depression, Utah wouldn't have relatively high rates of anti-depressent use and suicide.
@keltontrey Actually that's not so. People who are not committed to living the gospel often become less active, but seldom leave the Church completely. In my experience, people (myself included) have to feel very strongly to take that final step and resign their membership. Most of my ex-Mormon friends were all deeply committed to the Church for many years. It is our commitment to truth that forces us to leave when we realise the Church's claims about Joseph and the restored Gospel are false.
@rivenrock Again back to my initial point, your welcome to your opinion, or facts however you see it, but the fact still remains, thousands and thousands of people every year, feel differently than you, they feel the message of the restored gospel brings them guidance, a feeling of peace, and a deeper understanding of Christ and his plan for us. So while the church is not perfect, Joseph Smith was not perfect, nor were the prophets of old, that does not make the truth null.
@keltontrey I don't think anyone expects the church, or Joseph Smith, to be perfect. But when you're talking about out and out fraud, it's a whole different matter. This is about Jospeh lying about the restoration of the gospel (including priesthood authority), about receiving the Book of Mormon, etc. This is about the current leaders hiding information that makes this clear and continuing to pretend that the church has authority from Christ that it does not have.
@keltontrey Telling the truth is not a sin. Think about it: The Church instructs members not to read certain texts. It publishes sanitised versions of Church history in its manuals. It ex-communicates people merely for publically expressing doubt or disbelief. The leaders are working so hard to keep you from reading or listening to any counter opinion. Don't you ever wonder why?
Wow! Great hearing about how she's back with her husband. Usually these things just get permanently broken. They must be two very generous and open-hearted people.
Aww. Made me teary eyed. Congrats for getting out and everything being better. It seems that more information [knowledge] seems to be the strongest bringer of atheism.
I think it is hilarious that ex-Mormons judge the early origins of the church. You should all read the story of christs birth one more time and pay special attention on the opinions of the Jews. Man has faults; it's a fact. Regadless of how the church came about, it doesn't take away it's truthfulness.
Just admit, the truth is you're a lazy selfish coward that has been over come with the temptations of our society.
What a brilliant & thought stopping retort. "Regadless of how the church came about, it doesn't take away it's truthfulness." A Scientoloist or Jehovah's Witness could not have said it any better. What does truth matter anyway right? All that matters is that you believe & follow the leader. Can you say cult? Mormonism is an utter fraud, it has always been so. Truth matters oh defender, it really does. However, your dismissal of such just shows how little it matters to you. Research.
@dp24fps You assume people must believe in something supernatural. Why don't you just figure out whats true through investigating and then if you come to something you can't figure out, then awesome. How exciting it is to investigate new things we don't know about. But don't jump to conclusions and fill in the gaps of not knowing with what dogma has said those gaps are filled with. What if people still thought that sins caused diseases, aren't you glad someone thought it through logically.
“..Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.”
– Brigham Young; Journal of Discourses, Vol.10 p.110
mormonism is filled with hate and evil toward blacks
@wildernessforlunch1 Not sure what your implying with your comment in reference to my own. Just to clarify my comment is not in support of faith based "evidence". I'm not in support of mormon claims.
@dp24fps Actually it does take away its truthfulness. No-one would care if Joseph Smith was merely a flawed person. What we care about is that he was a complete fraud. If he lied about the First Vision, the Book of Mormon, the 'revelations' he received & the visits of heavenly beings, then there is no restored gospel, no priesthood authority, no continuing revelation. It completely strips away the foundations of the Church's claim to be the only true and living church on the earth.
There is a big wide world out there - away from the Corporation of the President.....This clip proves it. I know so called "active mormons" watch these clips from all over the world. Leaving the corporation was the best thing i ever did!
I just wish many inactive mormons would resign and stand up. Once the leadersa realise you no longer recognise there so called authority...your free

I actually feel really sorry for this girl, Eva! Depression does not come from belief in a Faith. I wish her all the best. I really struggle with people who slam other people's belieffs/Faith when they don't beleive what you believe. How did she serve a mission for the church and testify of Christ on a dailsy basis????
@doeraimi1 This was her story. Why would you be sad for her moving on to a better place in her life and recognizing she was happier outside the church than inside? For some people the church seems to fit well. For others... well Utah is still has the highest depression rate in America... so for others, it doesn't seem to work so well.
@doeraimi1 I am surprised that you struggle w/ people who slam other's beliefs. Are you not aware what your church says about mine? "one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." 1 Nephi 14:10
What do LDS say about my belief? The mother of WHAT? The WHAT of all the earth??
"Depression does not come from belief in a Faith." Actually it does. When you are forced to believe in things which you really know are not real, it causes internal pain & depression. This is known as cognitive dissonance & it causes many a religious person to struggle mentally to comport what is real with what the religious fairytale tells them to believe. Mormonism does this in spades. Visit the Mormon run site MormonThink d o t com to begin your journey of clarification.
@doeraimi1 She did not slam anyone else's faith or belief. She just said she no longer believed. That's not slamming anyone else, unless they are on YouTube trolling for exmormon or exwhatever stories.
So grateful for these Ex-Mormon videos, Hopefully it will help aid some of the mormons out of the church so they can actually live their lives rightfully
haha church leaders just can't fathom that any member would have legitimate doubts...that people might actually think for themselves and have strong opinions about something. They must have a porn problem, or it's always the persons problem an issue with the church or with the leaders themselves. Sadly, they also never have answers to those doubts...it's like a hamster wheel. "Sorry you must have a problem, go pray about it, no there are no answers to any intelligent questions around here......"
@CptMcClain Yes not only left the faith behind, but more so we do not see it as Faith but blind credulity to a religious front organization of the Watchtower Corporation. The control over members is much like the control that the Mormons have. If you choose to leave they hold family and friends hostage. We are seen as Apostates that are deserving of Eternal Death. My five year old Grandson is being told that Jehovah is going to get rid of his Mommy and Me because we don't serve him.
Hi I am an Ex-exmormon. I am glad that I am back. I just have to swallow my ego and selfishness. The truth is hurt, but it leads to complete recovery if you are humble.
The story about Korihor in Alma has opened my eyes.It is so true...
Of course you are "glad" that you are back, you are once again a part of the tribe, a part of the herd, a sheep to be shorn anew with nary a contrarian thought in your head. It’s easy to go with the crowd instead of standing for truth, it has always been so.
Mormonism is an absolute & utter fraud. It may soothe your inner demons to be a part of the hive once more, but you will never be a friend of truth in their ranks. When you find Kolob and the Lamanites, let us know would ya?
idiots jump from one fairy tale to another... let me guess now your a born again moron right?

the Mormon church thinks its ok to treat people like trash, but I don't.

I'm glad she is at peace with her life.
mrskatayers 1 month ago
@mrskatayers That's a very mature attitude. One sadly that isn't common, either for Mormons or non-Mormons. I'm not sure I get the "testimony" notion, which seems to keep people immune to facts and reason they don't want to hear, but I think in your own way, you get it - the essentials, I mean. Seeing the forest for the trees is often more important than the details. I hope that made sense! It was intended as a compliment.
kraorh 3 days ago
Something needs to be clarified here in the comments section. The teachings of the Mormon Church do not ring true for everyone, and for some they can be stifling. At the same time, the Mormons have a right to practice their beliefs just as everyone else does. Mormons calling ex-Mormons "fake" and non-Mormons calling the Book of Mormon "ridiculous" only creates fights that no one will ever win. As we've seen in the video, beliefs are entirely personal; none of us have the right to judge.

I hope you eventually get a chance to enjoy everything this world has to offer!

If you do not understand the temple that is your own fault
ninachrisnina 6 months ago
You make the decision to leave the church and are ‘happier’, that is fine, your its choice. That’s what life is about.. choosing.. That and family relationships.. Bottom line is the church and doctrine is true. Doesn't matter what emotions you feel about it. Doesn't matter what your intellect says. The church is still true. The Covenant of God is real. If this is weird or scary to you then that is how it is. I am glad that Eva and her ex are back together.. This life is about families...
ninachrisnina 6 months ago
I would also like to say on that note people should not blame stake presidents and bishops for their advice.. It is advice… You are you and you DON’T have to follow the advice of your bishop or stake president. By the way, my dad who is ex-mormon of 20years, who has read all and more than you know still believes the parts of the Church… The important doctrines. He will bow before Christ when Christ comes. I hope you people will too.

@SGTS3XY Ha. And what does the bible say about believing in science only? Real good point there man. If I had a cookie I'd give you one.
clearpathtofollw 6 months ago
@clearpathtofollw Don't even get me started on the Bible. It's a smaller load of shit than the BoM (the stories are sort of believable since there's archaeological proof of the places mentioned, and 2000 of the passages don't begin with "And so it came to pass" because the people writing/translating it actually knew how to read and were not failed TREASURE HUNTERS). Anyway, this discussion distracts from this video. I'm really happy for this girl and her family :]
SGTS3XY 6 months ago
So... she left her husband without ever talking to God about it? She decided Joseph Smith wasn't a prophet without ever praying about it? She's right - it is so much easier to blame others than to take personal responsibility for your relationship with God. I am sorry for her pain but a leaders counsel never trumps our personal revelation through prayer. If one has a question about the gospel or trouble with a leader - take it to the Lord.
BroJFullmer 8 months ago
@BroJFullmer She prayed about it. Many times.
iamanexmormon 8 months ago 7
@iamanexmormon So... if she prayed and received an answer to divorce her husband... why blame her leaders? What am I missing? It still seems as a lack of personal responsibility.
BroJFullmer 8 months ago
@BroJFullmer
Yeah, Mormons always say that they should seek "personal revalation", but as soon as that personal revalation is something other than what they are "supposed" to believe, it's wrong.
pele1281 7 months ago
@pele1281 I appreciate your comment but as you can see that's not my issue. It's about taking person responsibility. We are personally responsible for our relationship with God. If she prayed and had a spiritual confirmation that she should divorce her husband, then why in the world would she blame her leaders? This should be between her and the Lord. Blaming others is an easy road when we don't like the consequences for our actions.

I get that.

If I ever find a comment marked as spam simply because it was pro-Mormon, I always make sure to allow that comment. How is this censoring?
iamanexmormon 8 months ago 16
@PoderdelChino
Wrong. Mormonism is a brainwashing, mindcontrolling, censoring movement. These are different stories of people discovering their own personal truth.

Grow up and do something with your life

itt saddens me that ..... they are brought up beliving this their entire life, and yet they miss the whole point of the gosepel, yes church authorities will tell u something, ur parents will tell u some thing, but what you believe has to come from your true heart, it has to come from the conversation between you and the Lord himself , not what other people says and tell u what to do. mormon or not, it's the same with any church or religion, it's a relationship between u and God, not u and others
usagitoshiki 10 months ago
Found this on Facebook. I'm so glad that this is out here! I am an "ex-mormon" living in Utah and dealing with all that comes with having the family that still believes very strongly. I will definitely be visiting these sites and not feeling alone and like an "outsider" anymore!
Vampangel1986 10 months ago 7

I wish her the best of luck.
keltontrey 11 months ago
@keltontrey She had so much commitment to the LDS church that she LEFT HER HUSBAND when instructed by her leaders that it was the right thing to do. She never said anything about having a hard time living the gospel. What she said was that she discovered it wasn't true, which is why you are trying to find a reason to put her down and discount her experience. If the Mormon church saved lives and dispelled depression, Utah wouldn't have relatively high rates of anti-depressent use and suicide.
rivenrock 8 months ago
@rivenrock, So much commitment usually does not lead people to leave that to which they were committed to.
keltontrey 8 months ago
@keltontrey Actually that's not so. People who are not committed to living the gospel often become less active, but seldom leave the Church completely. In my experience, people (myself included) have to feel very strongly to take that final step and resign their membership. Most of my ex-Mormon friends were all deeply committed to the Church for many years. It is our commitment to truth that forces us to leave when we realise the Church's claims about Joseph and the restored Gospel are false.
rivenrock 8 months ago
@rivenrock Again back to my initial point, your welcome to your opinion, or facts however you see it, but the fact still remains, thousands and thousands of people every year, feel differently than you, they feel the message of the restored gospel brings them guidance, a feeling of peace, and a deeper understanding of Christ and his plan for us. So while the church is not perfect, Joseph Smith was not perfect, nor were the prophets of old, that does not make the truth null.
keltontrey 8 months ago
@keltontrey I don't think anyone expects the church, or Joseph Smith, to be perfect. But when you're talking about out and out fraud, it's a whole different matter. This is about Jospeh lying about the restoration of the gospel (including priesthood authority), about receiving the Book of Mormon, etc. This is about the current leaders hiding information that makes this clear and continuing to pretend that the church has authority from Christ that it does not have.
rivenrock 8 months ago
@rivenrock: Ok, take that stance, it's your choice, your accountable for it.
keltontrey 8 months ago
@keltontrey Telling the truth is not a sin. Think about it: The Church instructs members not to read certain texts. It publishes sanitised versions of Church history in its manuals. It ex-communicates people merely for publically expressing doubt or disbelief. The leaders are working so hard to keep you from reading or listening to any counter opinion. Don't you ever wonder why?

I think it is hilarious that ex-Mormons judge the early origins of the church. You should all read the story of christs birth one more time and pay special attention on the opinions of the Jews. Man has faults; it's a fact. Regadless of how the church came about, it doesn't take away it's truthfulness.
Just admit, the truth is you're a lazy selfish coward that has been over come with the temptations of our society.
Drink it up people, because tomorrow you die.

@dp24fps
Research.
ExmormonFoundation 11 months ago 3
@dp24fps You assume people must believe in something supernatural. Why don't you just figure out whats true through investigating and then if you come to something you can't figure out, then awesome. How exciting it is to investigate new things we don't know about. But don't jump to conclusions and fill in the gaps of not knowing with what dogma has said those gaps are filled with. What if people still thought that sins caused diseases, aren't you glad someone thought it through logically.

I actually feel really sorry for this girl, Eva! Depression does not come from belief in a Faith. I wish her all the best. I really struggle with people who slam other people's belieffs/Faith when they don't beleive what you believe. How did she serve a mission for the church and testify of Christ on a dailsy basis????
doeraimi1 1 year ago
@doeraimi1 This was her story. Why would you be sad for her moving on to a better place in her life and recognizing she was happier outside the church than inside? For some people the church seems to fit well. For others... well Utah is still has the highest depression rate in America... so for others, it doesn't seem to work so well.
iamanexmormon 1 year ago 24
@iamanexmormon
Not that I disagree, but when you make statements such as "Utah ... still has the highest depression rate in America, always cite sources. Always.
KaiRoland8 6 months ago
@doeraimi1 I am surprised that you struggle w/ people who slam other's beliefs. Are you not aware what your church says about mine? "one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." 1 Nephi 14:10
What do LDS say about my belief? The mother of WHAT? The WHAT of all the earth??
redboxgift 1 year ago
@doeraimi1
ExmormonFoundation 11 months ago
@doeraimi1 She did not slam anyone else's faith or belief. She just said she no longer believed. That's not slamming anyone else, unless they are on YouTube trolling for exmormon or exwhatever stories.

haha church leaders just can't fathom that any member would have legitimate doubts...that people might actually think for themselves and have strong opinions about something. They must have a porn problem, or it's always the persons problem an issue with the church or with the leaders themselves. Sadly, they also never have answers to those doubts...it's like a hamster wheel. "Sorry you must have a problem, go pray about it, no there are no answers to any intelligent questions around here......"

@PrintedTruth When you guy's say you are ex Jahovah's does that mean that you are still religious? Or have you left faith behind?
CptMcClain 11 months ago

@oncom2008
