Why is white skin favored in India? This reaction to skin color is because of india's caste system (based on the Rig Veda, an ancient Hindu scripture) which describes the Brahmins, the priestly caste and the highest on the totem pole as white-skinned and Shudras- the servant as always dark-skinned. Parents of darkskinned girls do everything to make their daughters 'white' just so anyone will marry them.

Absolutely wrong. It has nothing to Veda.Nothing to do with Caste System.
