  • @Animation1111 lol dude maps app is imposible to waste 4gb XD

  • @schiru3 download superoneclick and plug your phone in to your computer. Than press 'root' and wait a sec. Done! Reboot your system and it's ready to use

  • Wat is a rooted phone? O.o

  • I know this probably sounds super noob but after removing stock apps, if you ever factory reset or unroot for whatever reason will they come back again?

  • on sd card i deleted maps cause it was taking like 4gb is that bad? Please respond

  • @Animation1111 You shouldn't be aloud to own a phone...

  • this doesnt work on my metro lg esteem my phone is rooted and it tells me that the app i want to remove is a read-only file

  • Android has the stupidest OS ever. I prefer the old OS on old Sony Ericsson before Android. My Samsung Galaxy S2 is a great phone, but Android is soooo bad. It keeps killing itself by letting programs running in the background all over the place.. Dumbest OS ever. What little experience I have with iOS is much better than Android OS.

  • terrible sound quality. Maybe try a better mic. You suck dude.

  • You have to have a rooted phone guys! Duhh

  • Fuckk all that I'm rooted with an 2.3.7. Android haha!

  • Usage: [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory

  • @angryasian89 Having the same problem

  • Is this REALLY the only fucking way to do this? That's a goddamn nightmare to go through just to get rid of predatory factory apps that shouldn't fucking be there in the first place.

  • Hey can you please help me in rooting my handset? I am holding Samsung galaxy 3 I5801... I tried so many ways but no luck yet. I have upgraded to 2.2 and recently wiped out all the cached data.

  • thanks man works wonderful

  • hey guys there's an app that will do all these steps, and typing for you. It's called --->Root browser lite<---, from JRummy16 better than having 2 apps, you'll only need one, and you won't have to type the file name.

  • @ackroh

omg you are amazing, thanks! seriously, thanks!

  • This bullshit keeps sayn permission denied!, wuz up wit this punk ass shit

  • you are the man! I need to remove a few when I get a chance. Thanks again!

  • This seems complicated but I need to do this. I'm tired of looking @ all these silly preloaded apps wasting valuable space.

  • it say permission denied wtf!! whyyyy??

  • Thanks for the tutorial. But next time, please leave the music out. Especially such epic film music -.-

  • it's not working for my evo 4g. it looks exactly how it does in the video only when i exit out of the termination app, the app i'm trying to delete is still there.

  • -.- Samsung Prevail is one of the most difficult android phones to ever root.

  • Can't hear you very well over the music -_-

  • oh please, this can be done so much more easier. Just download the free version of titanium backup (there are other backup / file mananger apps able of doing this as well) and go to the second tab; Backup / replace.

There you can see all installed apps, services, widgets everything. Select one, and delete it, just make sure you don't throw away system service's...

Remember, this can only be done after rooting.

  • @1CAR1freak thank you very much!!!

  • @1CAR1freak YES!!!!!!!

  • root explorer ftw..

  • The music fucks the video.. -.-

  • Or use root explorer

  • Here's what I wrote but doesn't work... export PATH=/data/local/bin:$PATH

    $ $su

    $ mount -o rw,remount /system

Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory

  • @param84me same problem there. Using Wildfire

  • @kyberdrb i think this rooting method doesn't work on android 2.2

  • Doesn't work for me. I keep getting the command usage stuff even when I type the correct command. Help please...

  • For all the people who have the "read only file" problem. I did the following:

    su

    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblk3 /system

    rm /system/app/FILE-NAME-HERE.apk

    This helped for me!

  • @leadergames Thanks for the Info and helping the people out!

  • @leadergames hi rooted my galaxy s2 (so the yellow warning sign shows at the start) installed these applications and tried all of this :P

I'm still getting some error messages, after trying the mount command i get:

Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory

then after trying the rm command on one of my annoying stock apps i get:

rm failed for /system/app/Appstore20110121.apk, Read-only file system

Gah! Any idea whats going on? :P

  • @leadergames OMG!! Thank You so Much, this helped!

  • love the music XD

  • This doesn't work for Samsung Galaxy Prevail :(. Any idea why? User error maybe? (I'm rooted-- the terminal shows "Invalid option")

  • This doesn't work for Samsung Galaxy Prevail :(. Any idea why? User error maybe?

  • how i remove superuser app...? if you know please help me or make a video or something... thanks! :)

  • hi it says i need to download a su...? i have no idea what im doing and would love someone to show me please!!!!!

  • what about read only files?

  • "failed for /system/app/amazonmp3.apk, read-only file sysem" WTF over?

  • @wyo7011 Are you rooted?

  • I hate the stupid amazon mp3 shit that turns on on its on n slows down my internet all the damn time i hate it. Any one know how to uninstall it?

  • whats with the stupid fuckin star wars musictard

  • sorry i meant read only program

  • So i tried everything you did in this video, and my the terminal emulator tells me that all of the apps i want to uninstall are write only programs. Did i do something wrong?

  • do you know how i can change the file permissions in the app folder from read to read, write and execute? after i type

    mount -o rw,remount /system

it says Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory,

    and after i type

    rm -r /system/app/FILE-NAME-HERE.apk

it says i don't have permission since its a read only file.

    Anyways, great video.

  • I have the same problem with the superuser, I did just like you show on the video but it doesn't work. I have the Motorola Atrix, what i can do??

  • My Phone is rooted, SU works fine.

Tried the command "mount -o rw,remount /system" but did not work.

What version of android did you use this command on? I am on Android 2.1 and it would not accept this command. It did give me options though on how to use it, but to me it means nothing. Not technical at all.

  • Yeah that definitely didn't work

    su= permission denied

then when i put in the code it told me no such app existed.

  • Mines also says read only permissions make a second video to help with this problem

  • mine said read file only help mee i rooter my phone as you say please

  • @shakster1980 found out how, NOT type in mount -o, skip that step and go to the next one and it will work. It worked for me

  • SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!!! I bet you're the kinda guy that gives their number out way to fast and expects other to remember it huh?

  • @michael82fb I love your comment. :')

  • 4 mins for one app

  • wow mine said read file only what means i rooter my phone ???

  • when i type su on the terminal it say permission denied...

  • @mmjc14 you're not rooted then

  • Well done, liked the captions on the bottom of the video.

  • you dont even need to use the terminal emulator, install the app Titanium Backup from the Market and u can delete stock apps from that, much faster, and much easier!

  • @MIDNIGHTBLUE216 I dont know if it works yet, but if it does you're my hero bro

  • I want to delete a few apps that came in my EVO (Stock, Blockbuster, etc) that I don't want. I rooted my EVO with "unrevoke forever". When performing the steps you mention here I get a message error of "denied access" form Terminal emulator. Can you help?

  • i followed everything to a "T" and got nothing their still there!!!! same error

  • Yea I also did get the same error and App was still there, followed to the "T" tried it 3 times still no luck. Also tried it on 2 different Sprint Apps, any other suggestions?

Does the phone have to set at a certain setting before doing the steps?

    Thanks again.

  • I follow you guide to the letter I get rm failed for ......,apk read-only file system

  • Seriously, Rooting your phone is the best thing you can do. And it wasn't even that hard. Thanks man!

Now i can delete stuff i dont want (Thanks to you), download apps from other source, wifi tether, save soooo much battery, and overclock speeds.
