I bet Lockheed Martin are glad Russia and China are starting to look threatening again. This plane was starting to look like a relic, seeing as aerial warfare seems to mostly involve blowing up wedding receptions and children's parties with unmanned drones these days.
@Yamaha950 could be, but f-22 really is a failure i saw this news on a U.S news channel "f-22 exposed" type this thing on youtube and check it yourself. this plane cant fly in rain and requuires 30hrs of maintenance for every one hr of flight
@johnramboo1 The F-22 is currently based and operating in the harshest climates in the world ranging from the desert in Nevada and California, to extreme cold in Alaska, and rain/humidity in Florida, Okinawa and Guam. In all of these environments the F-22 has performed extremely well.
also, as of July 2009 the F-22 Raptor has achieved 10.1 maintenance hours per flight hour.
Maybe your government will buy some, F-22J? sounds kind of cool. the U.S. Government sold you guys the Aegis combat system so I don't see how this is much different.
this is the top of the line fighter. the best in the world. I know this sounds stupid, but the US Government will not sell these to any other country until they are...well...outdated in US standards.
1: Please no cursing. I firmly believe that it degrades the English vocabulary, and 2: It is able to acheive such an extreme AoA tanks to it's 2-d thrust vectoring, which is seamlessly intergrated into the flight systems. Still, it's kinda mazing that the F-22 can actually accelerate w/ an AoA of 90 degrees. Now, all it needs is VTOL/STOL capabilities. Then it would be nearly unstoppable, except for in a dogfight against other gen-5 aircraft or SAMs guided by low-frequency radar.
