  • three things cannot be long hidden. the sun, the moon and the truth. Siddartha (buddha) was born in Nepal.

  • What IS the Buddha ??

  • I am not trying to be mean. I just want to understand. If people wanted to stop rebirth wouldn't they just have to stop having sex?

  • Gautam Buddha was born in Nepal...No matter what others say but truth cannot be hidden

  • Chana seems to be a very enlightened "guide" himself...

  • you idiot indians why ddont you agree that buddha was born in nepal.you blady indians have the habit of snatching others things.sudhro saalo

  • i have to say that they got some things right and wrong.

  • so disgusting!! bbc is broadcasting wrong information about lord buddha.. ask every buddish about birth palace of buddha.. ya its matter where he was born. it matters to the people where they are born too.. bloody indians stop spreading wrong information.

  • do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment

    buddha

  • i proud to be budhist that budhist cast only one that not involve cast equal in budhist cast

    nammo budda

  • I learned all this before I was 17, but I agree so many people never do

  • The Buddha was born on Sri Lanka.(Janbudeepa)

  • buddha was born in st helens in england

  • Loar Buddha was born in Sourthwest Nepal not India

  • 98 people still believe in the one who create everything.

  • BUDDHA IS BORN IN EARTH!!! MAY ALL LIVING BEING HAVE A HAPPY LIFE AND CARE OF OTHERS HAPPINESS..

  • Buddha was born in What What Then! India.

  • I had to stop it watching. because it kept on saying "NORTHERN INDIA" why didn't it said '' SOUTHERN NEPAL''

This documentary must be filled with a lots of ''FABRICATED'' story.

  • Nicely produced doco that simplifies the basics. Even a general realisation of Buddhism is helpful and is a good start. So often people are deterred by Buddhism being explained in a foreign language like Thai so it is important that we get as many English explanations as possible.

  • gr8 work

  • I don't care where he was born, but I do not like the bossy banner. Hardly in the light.

  • BUDDHA BORN IN NEPAL

  • wtf is wrong with bbc ??? buddha was born in nepal ...

  • @imexitful he's from india...dickweed...

  • @richie8811 you dickweed its from nepal check on wikipedia got it first check it out and comment again

  • @richie8811 he is from nepal mother fucker...

  • The problem is that all this is just hearsay and what people tell u, but the principle and essence of the story is universal.

  • Can anyone identify the monasteries shown in the documentary?

  • Wait... why does it matter where the Buddha was born?

  • Thank you for such a video.... designed to help people achieve inner peace.

  • FUCK BBC buddha born in nepal

  • @ramblerweed calm down, everybody knows nepal is gay

  • The life of Buddha is interesting, thanks for this video. Wanna know more about it.

  • Is this the wrolds only useful and correct religion? maybe...

  • Seriously? Want Truth and peace. Embrace Nihilism

  • So the Buddha spent 40 years preaching to Maya (illusion) about the path of enlightenment? His words are truth indeed, but who is his audience when it is all just inside of his own imagination? I love how the commentators talk of Buddha's experience as if they knew how enlightenment feels like.

  • I bet Dalai Lama keeps spreading these incorrect statements that Buddha was born in India.

Of course he would because Indians are probably paying him to spread the false fact.

Maybe someday they will start saying that Mt. Everest is in India.

INDIANS ARE LOOSER THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING !!

  • @ 3:33 "by the time the British colonized India, the country of Buddha's birth"

WHAT THE HELL BBC !! BUDDHA WAS NOT BORN IN INDIA. GET THE FACT RIGHT.

  • @ 3:33 ~ it clearly says that Buddha was born in India, which is not true.

And when you read the description of this video it says :

"Watch the full documentary before commenting. BBC has not made anything wrong. They had specified that Buddha was born in Lumbini which is Nepal. "

That is so false!! I don't think sidddhartha89 understands English.

BUDDHA WAS NOT BORN IN INDIA. BBC IS FALSE !!

I think India is paying Dalai Lama to brag all this crap.

  • Why don't we just all agree that Buddha was born on EARTH ! He wouldn't have wanted us to fight and argue over the location of his birth. In the eyes of the Buddha, the Earth is our country, our home and all the people who inhabit it are one family. Let us not argue, but join together and promote peace.

Long live the teachings of the Buddha :)

  • @glasgow1234 Wow well said! :D

  • @glasgow1234 Fully Agreed with that I also follow Buddha teaching, and I've always seen my home not as country where I was born, but Earth as home to all living things :). We should live where we feel good and explore the planet.

  • @glasgow1234 How does a guy that weighs over 600 lbs. have the balls to teach self-discipline???

  • @TxTechAirRAID what do you mean?

  • it will be better if all video bbc have a subtitle

  • Matreiya, and radhe, i sincerly apologise for my words

  • I am sorry about my words my apology. I was so mch exited by the previous comments that i couldnt control my feelings. I ve been taught from childhood till date that buddha was born in nepal, and he is the pride of nepal.i really do respect buddhish and i worship buddha, Jay nepal

  • BUDDHA WAS BORN IN ASIA ASIA ASIA ASIA ITS AN ASIAN RELGION / JUDAISM,CHRISTANITY, AND ISLAM ARE ORIGINATE FROM MIDDLE EAST AND TO EUROPE AND THE MOST FUCKED UP RELIGIONS IN THE WORLD WITH NO REALLY PEACE TEACHINGS DO YOU SEE BUDDHISM TO CRUSADE OR JIHAD NO YOU DICKS THIS ASIAN RELIGION IS BASED PURELY BASED ON NATURE PEACE AND SELFDEFENSE FUCK ISLAM,CHRISTANITY AND JUDASIM!!! DICKS

  • It does not matter where the Buddha was born, only that he was born. If you attach yourself to the location of his birth, you miss the point of his teachings, and the Dharma is lost on you.

  • Buddha was born on planet earth. I wonder if anyone really remembers that country lines and borders are arbitrary. What used to be India could've been china or vice versa even possibly africa or europe. Who really knows but does it matter where he was birthed? Just enjoy his teachings and continue to live a life of love!

  • Fck u all,, my lord buddha was born in great country NEPAL,. , the great country, with great people,.

  • @bornofhope23 i can see that by your words here....cant believe u r in country of buddha shame on u

  • @bornofhope23 - It is interesting that you, a man with such vanity and pride is showing off a man who fought and destroyed the chains of vanity and pride. Your behavior and manner voids any merit you think you deserve because of the Buddha was born in your nation. Even the Buddha predicted his own clan's downfall because they too were vain and prideful about his birthplace.

  • So, the term "Northern India" is definitely offensive and condemnable for all the Nepalese. I think agencies like BBC should think again to correct the mistake that supports Indian colonialism in some way. The Ashoka Pillar and Ruins of Mayadevi Temple are also fake in the movie.

  • Dear all, yes Buddha was beyond the boarders and beyond the mind. Then way to use the phrase like "Northern India"? @fight4lovetohate If neither Nepal nor India existed then, then it should not be said "Northern India". If you want to say something like this, "Southern Nepal" is the only truth. You can also mention Lumbini or Kapilbastu or Tilaurakot instead of the names of the modern countries.

  • Being at the crossroads in my life,Buddhism has given me a pathway in which the crossroads are slowly disappearing and providing a clear pathway to a more positive existence and I've only scratch the surface of learning about Buddhism.

  • I am an Atheist. I LOVE Buddha and Buddhism.

After all the faiths and religions I have explored, tried, and studied, Buddhism is the one religion that has yet to Piss Me Off =^_^=

And It is the one religion that has earned my deepest respect.

  • Im just watching bc my teachet told us to gather information about buddhas so this helped me finish ALL of it :^]

  • Buddha was born in nepal .. I am in Australia but I still believe in Buddha ... All the English people know that Buddha was born in Nepal. Indians have no proof about it... Jai Buddha .....

  • Nepal was never a part of India, and Buddha was born in Nepal. Those who don't know history should search n learn it..

  • @Afewdollarsmore1 Harty-har-har. Nice joke.

  • Buddha born in California. who cares! Ppl follow his way. Just eat apple ok don't go to find that's tree looks bigger or small

  • The Buddha of India was Black, that's why his woolly hair is always shown in small tight curls pepper corn style, or in corn rows. Early sculptures of him clearly portray his Africoid features of wide nose and full lips. "Buddha was adored as a square black stone." 1 In the most ancient temples of Asia and India, the sculptures of the gods and goddesses have Africoid features and woolly hair in pepper corn style and even dreadlocks. This video tell only half of the story. Peace

  • Thank you for this video. I enjoyed watching it. Love and Light!

  • r u serious???????buddha was born in nepal all ight not in india

  • Yes, Buddha sure was born in Lumbini, which is in Modern day Nepal. But at the time of Buddha, Nepal and India were the same territory. They were not two different countries. This became later. Besides this, Buddha got his enlightenment in "Gaya" which is in India and He breathe his last in Indian city called "kushinagar" . He lived all hid life in India. I have visited all the places in Nepal and India related to Buddha.... :)

  • @niharika238 If they were not two different countries, the term "Northern India" is wrong: that's the only argument. They should have used the names like Lumbini, Kapilbastu, Tilaurakot, Taulihawa, etc. to denote the places. If they need to use the names of modern country, it should be "Southern Nepal" and is has no option. Well, Niharika, suppose you reside in USA though you were born in India, it doesn't mean that you are an American.

  • @singalama1 Let me begin by keeping "peace" between us. I have always loved Buddha and believed in his teachings. I will not let "mara" the devil inside me,dominate me here at any cost. I do, understand that some people feel pained that Buddha gets associated with India. But anyone who cares to know enough about him knows that Lumbini is in Nepal.that is the truth, why feel bad about it. If Buddha was here, do you think he would ever care ? He loved absolutely everyone on earth, equally.Love :)

  • I really wanna to suggest to correct information and Buddha was not born in India, He was not Indian prince. It's is well known that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal. I would like to say to this video maker that please study the truth and research for what's the reality.

  • before uploading any such types of documentary or videos please, please provide the true information. the first fault is buddha was not born in India, he was born in nepal , lumbini is not a place that lies in india ,it is in Nepal. Nepal is not a part of india, nepal is an independent country. pease get the proper knowledge before flashing this such documentaries .

  • lets all get butt naked...yesss.

  • lamo jasto indian haru

  • i have been just about every religion you can name,i've studied every major religion out there(and even got into new age stuff like bashar and abraham hicks),and for some reason,i've always loved the story of the buddha the most(even more than jesus's,and i was raised catholic),i'm still searching for the truth, and i still listen to buddhism and this video and read the dhammapada to try and find this out,i've even been meditating lately.

  • Fucking idiots Indians, Producer shock my cock.

  • I have watched the full documentary. Please remove this documentary from this site. Don't publish this type of fraud documentary. It hurt me and all the Nepalese people who really love Nepal.

  • @hirabhusal396 why?

  • Please don't publish the fake documentary. Try to find out truth which will help the researcher. Actually the birth place of Buddha is Lumbini, Nepal.

  • @hirabhusal396 this isn't a fake documentary, the documentary states exactly what you're saying..

  • I couldn't care less about where Buddha was born.

I care a lot more about Buddha's fascinating story.

  • Pls don`t flash wrong information to the world BBC News. There is only one kapilvastu in Nepal where buddha was born.India is liar.

  • Noble Silence maybe :)

May we all be happy at heart

  • became a Buddha isn't a one life thing. it takes infinity of life times.

  • @gayan006 so its impossible with infinity to find nothing? who would of thunk it.

  • @sprookafook For you it's nothing. for me its EVERYTHING...

  • @gayan006 thats how dumb u are, u fail to see the irony n comedy in yourself, ''it takes an infinity to reach nothingness of the buddha'', thats bascialy the contridiction in adjective u just put forth. its cute for you nothing is everything, u must be a neurotic who cant create beyound himself, thats why the artifice like buddhism is needed, u create a bunch of nothing n even thats too hard for u in one lifetime, lmao , nihilism is charming.

  • @sprookafook Buddhism isnt a "nihilism" what u know about Buddhism? tell me... then I can have a conversation with u. otherwise its not worth.

  • @gayan006 buddha answers his promises, u know what he promised= nothingness.

its bascially the blue sky that was for sale back 2500 years ago, or atleast one of them. the cessation of desire n will is nirvanna for the buddist, bascially to be dead, im sorry to be nothing, hey some people cant be something so nothing becomes vogue. bascially if u want to breath in a cave rotteing away im totally behind u.

  • @sprookafook LOL stop trying to sound smart on the internet. I was born in a country dominated by Buddhism, lived in another country mainly dominated by Buddhism by the age of 5. Buddha never try to sell the sky to anyone, he just lived his live in harmony with the earth, he saw everyone as equals he was but a man searching for enlightenment, he never saw himself as anything more than a man. anyone can become the Buddha, in religion not anyone can become god.

  • @sprookafook Why is it that idiots like you so enjoy showing off your ignorance?? It's plainly apparent that you did something other than learn anything in school or did you drop out?? Either way your level of ignorance is just astounding.

  • @TheBardicDruid isnt nothing nirvanna? ignorance over nihilism? oh u soft souls who see through the jewish zombie charade but fall for nothing via theprinces spoiled son who went bat shit. hey if worshiping sitting on your ass n breathing makes u anti ignorant then keep it up, what ever keeps yourt type quiet im all for, the zombie used to quite weaklings now nothing does, in some ways thats n improvement but its more funnhy

  • @money4idiotz

what do you say if someone says Gandhi was born in China or Christ was born in Africa or muhammad was born in US etc....May be it doesnt matter to you coz you dont belong to these matters but it does to them who love their country and who loves the fact

  • Thanks for uploading! :-)

  • the place is south of nepal not north of india

  • buddha was born in nepal . come and visit lumbini where buddha was born . the emperor king ashoka todays in india( magadha kingdom ) he came and he erected pillar which called ashoka pillar so in the pillar clearly mentioned that here the shakya muni gautam buddha was born . where situated in lumbini nepal .

  • buddha teaches us to never speak untruth and dare for truth..so by virtue of his learnings it is undeniable and already proven that buddhha was born in lumbini which is situated in nepal.

  • @fight4lovetohate FREE NEPAL!

  • @fight4lovetohate he also teaches us that the world is in a constant state of change. therefore since neither Nepal or India existed at the time of his birth then the argument is meaningless. Sidhartha himself was not constrained by nationalistic thoughts or national borders.

  • lets not argue on silly matters, but without knowing truth I request everyone not to make unnecessary claims.

  • Yes, the Buddha was born in present day Nepal, but what was then in India-but BIG DEAL and who cares? It's the only 'religion' that makes any sense!

  • Buddha was born in what's known today as Nepal. how bout that?

  • Buddha was chosen by the Gods to live two destinies They have created. These 2 destinies are: the Adolf Hitler destiny and the coming new king who will bring peace to the Earth for a long time.

Nostradamus calls these 2 destinies: (1)Mars and (2)The Scepter in quatrain 24 of century 6. Thus Hitler is not the author of WWII,the Gods are.

this comment is the fulfillment of Nostradamus's quatrain 91 of century 1:The Gods will make it appear to mankind that They are the authors of a great war.

  • who wants to remove desires in their life thumbs up this comment.

  • Facts:Buddha was born in some ancient village near Nepal's border,he was born in nepal.but he spend most of his time living in India, spreading his ideology

also all those who are arguing with abusive language and hate for each other only show what culture you guys have

  • ganda

  • Any who are studying or are following the teaching of Siddhartha Gautama shall never show anger toward those who doesnt understand.Do not fall under their hatred or you will be no better.

  • buddism is the second greatest conterfeit of the mind the world has ever made.

  • @sprookafook what's the first one?

  • @ataryo christianity, u got nihilism n nothing worshipped in buddism, then christ u got a ddady replacement shamebandaid etitlement complex, budda will answer its promises=nothing, christiany will answer none of its promises, christianity is much more fake its jus tthat buddism is truly useless.

  • @sprookafook Nobody ask you to follow it.Buddhism is not like abrahamic religions. We wont hate you becose you are different. It is useless for you but usefull for me.Your morals and standards are differents.Live your life the way your want and be happy.

    peace

  • @ataryo abrahamic cults are over n useless, each n every one of them, buddism is also uselss, sorry but wanting nothing until u have it is no kind of advice, if u want to kill the desire for life u have cause u cant handle reality then be a buddist or a abrahamic cult follwer, but buddhaism is a joke for living men.

  • @sprookafook FYI Buddhism isnt a religion buta phylosophy.I follow this phylosophy cause it match with my reason and my common sense.Buddhism is not the solution for the world. We are the solution for the actual problems worldwide.Siddhartha Gautama was a teacher, nothing more nothing less. The benefit in buddhism is there and it is scientifictly been proven.God doesnt exist.Peace within yourself does.

  • @ataryo philosophy means luv of wisdom, thats all it is, if u luv nothing n think thats wise your lost, buddha is like christ a con man, only chirst allows u to live in hope in vain and buddah allwos u to live with nothing in peace, neither are philosophy im sorry or wise, and your last statement, ''scientifically proven god doesnt exist''? are u out ofyour fucking mind, god cant be proved or disproven, dont let controlling yur self flatter your ego, peace is fine but it aint god.

  • @sprookafook Phylosophy is a way to train the mind to possiblities which can be realistic or unrealistic. It help you to see things beyond what the average people could see.It can lead to ideas and questioning.

  • @ataryo lookit up fool, philoshy is luv of wisdom and nothing but it, get a dictionary out if u dont know what the fuck your talking about, theology is luv of god or theo, there is no god nor any end cause science. philos=luv, sophia=wisdom, any questions? spare the last sentence for your own lost self.

  • @sprookafook Why are you insulting me?

it only express your ignorance and ur stupidity.

    I dont argue with idiot

  • @ataryo uknow what the coolest thing is is when kids as buddist turn to be about 35 and u look at them an say, well are u gonna take it al a carte or are u gonna atually live like a buddha now as a adult, uknow worship nothing? they never do im afraid, much like christians cant be christians, it is what it is, nothing, small peace is better then a long one, learn to fight before u waste your life sitting on your buddha.

  • @sprookafook Could you write in English?

  • @ataryo im giving it to u literal in english, u follow nothing with a goal of nothing and your convinced unlike christians who are born sick n commanded to be well but instead born with karma of which one life wont be enough to accomplish burning of so u can be ultimate goal of which is nothing, your funny bro, its no debate or dialectic for me, after all almost anything trumps nothing.

  • @sprookafook What are trying to do here?

How can you judge my purpose of life simply by judging the philosophy i'm following. Are you a christian or a muslim?

  • @ataryo im without imaginary friends for adults or there lack an then a worship of lack like you do via buddism n its nihilism.

  • @ataryo you*

  • @sprookafook God doesnt exist. It is as simple as that.

  • @ataryo and no nihilistic nirvanna either, hey keep breatihing n worshiping nothing until u have it like buddha said, from no god or imaginary friend for adults to worshipiing nothingness, seems to be step backwards, i mean if your not entitled by god to hope n have luv u might as well have a princes spoiled son tell u that nothing is everything and that nothing is to be revered while making donations to monks on there pursit of nothinginess, buddism is deader then yesturday

  • @sprookafook Would you kindly write something I can understand?

  • @sprookafook "Buddhism is truly useless," as are your comments.

  • in the period of budha, there lived many stupid people like u..lol,,,,,,,,only,wisdom people can understand the reality...

  • Lord Buddha had spread the knowledge of truth and faith and i am the follower of Buddha so truly speaking Buddha was born in kapilbastu which is in Nepal and the next thing is no one can change the history and I pray for those poor Indians who don´t have their own sovereignty and claims Buddha was born in India even India hat got its independent just few years .

  • I am positive about India, but it feels very bad to deal with some people claiming over the land of Nepal...Obviously it's true that Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal, one sud never attack the sovereignity of others, we all have a mother...we all love our mother, we must love each other, respect each other's motherland, please don't forget that Nepal n India is one of the greatest frenz of South Asia. but some friends sudn't forget that Nepal has maintained its identity 1000s years ago. Peace :)

  • The actor looks so dumb or stoned its offensive even to non-Buddhists.

  • @money4idiotz Dear friend, Please visit Nepal..Please see how Hindus have embraced Buddhism…how many Buddhists are there….how Buddhism is viewed in the country…Please trek in the Himalayas…see what Buddha means to every Nepalis..Buddha is not just a religion…Buddhism is all over Nepal.sorry you made a wrong statement. A country Nepal, 3000 years old, its land claimed by a country born jus 60 years ago, then definitely we’ll argue…Buddha is the symbol of truth, we’ll follow truth :)

  • @money4idiotz ::: sorry, for disrruption, but buddha as we know he was born on kapilvastu part of Nepal... Nepalese, they have very good sense of humour comparing to indians... i dont knw whats you mean????

  • To be clear out here it doesn`t matter where Buddha was born but we should not forget his teachings and also those arguing about ancient India refers to all countries in Indian subcontinent is totally wrong for Nepal as it was never part of any country or was never ruled by any other nations and it existed as Himalayas in past histories not as any part of India.Peace....

  • Countries are defined by man.

The earth doesn't differentiate between an imaginary line that this is land is called "India" or this land is called "Nepal".

This is a very basic, small minded, ignorant argument that does not help anything or anyone progress. We are all children of the earth, the earth wasn't born divided into nations.

The earth doesn't even speak man's language, it only feels, and has another type of understanding and communication.

  • Indian are making fake lumbini to prove that he was born in
