He is so right about the technical problems. At Sounds of the Underground, they were the ONLY band that had technical problems, and EVERYTHING kept screwing up and shutting off. Jean-Paul was AMAZING at keeping it together, he never faltered once, even when the roadies wandered around in a daze and Neil looked like he wanted to stab them with his beard.
Me too man! Im so freakin pissed, i want a really fucking big beard, all my hair is either pubic forests or big plains on my legs. FUCK what useless places to grow hair!
Best thing about this band is the music is so cool and so many people like Clutch that usually like so many different genres. I saw them and there was a huge mix of people in the crowd. I toured didn`t rent and my laney head died 3rd gig in. I shit my pants for two weeks in case anything went wrong with my spare. On the usual paltry tour allowance of £10 per day on a small label I couldn`t afford to get the main fixed. A lesson learned.....?
Now i`m older and wiser I have a job... life sucks
I played Keys and one show we played at in West Virginia didn't have enough electrical power to fire up my 2 guitar players Marshall stacks along with my rig.
So I went outside and ran 5 extensions cords and pluged them in to the Bus we had at the time. (1955 Touring Bus, with a 1986 electrical generator.)
I saw them way back in the early 90's at a small place called the Insect Club. The place was outta control when Clutch came on stage. When Clutch came out, there were people hangin' from the rafters and sh!t- like I said, outta control. Neil grabbed the mic and screamed "Get down!" and the dude did with his tail between his legs. hahaha. They came out, took control of the place, and put on a killer show. Even the neo-nazis were getting along with the blacks at the end. Killer show.
Fallon's hella kick back and down to earth, man. I had the privilege of meeting him at a gig Clutch had up in Sacramento last October ('08) and he actually stopped to talk to me and my lady for a few minutes. He was both friendly and approachable. I hope to see them all again live real soon!
This guy writes some kick ass lyrics. I really don't understand why they tour with the bands they do though. It's a totally different vibe than Marilyn Manson or Korn, i'd see them more with a Black Label Society or The Black Crows.
yeah i know what you mean InKa; Korn is shit, but I guess they play with such groups because they have to to find an outlet to get their music out to a lot of people. Reminds me of how Tool (good band) would be in a line up with Linkin Park (plastic-y commercial wannabe "metal"). You also get a mix of fans, like some intelligent types, but also a lot of deuschy frat-boy/jock metalhead types (see first 10 seconds of this video)
Well I think that if i first saw them when they toured with Marilyn Manson i wouldn't have liked them because i would've been wanting to hear the industrial metal type sound and they would've come out playing their bluesy hard rock stuff so i would've overlooked them. Thankfully i got tired of all the rap fans in my town telling me clutch is the only good rock band around and so i listened to them, now i can't understand why rap fans like Clutch, maybe their sound gets through to everyone.
i saw clutch in 1998... along with limp & 7dust. these guys are so amazing that i have never found out why in the hell they haven't been bigger than the former two bands?
jesus on the dashboard... come on, this stuff is way more wicked and intelligent than a lot of things today. thanks, 1ballz08... that's what wez be sayin.... clutch kicks the ass and then writes a song about.... neil has more talent in his beard than these dinsey bands..
Clutch is not a fad.......they keep it real and have loyal fans that go to every show ,and they keep puttin out kick ass jams....its word of mouth not so commercial someone wheres a shirt from a show....and the next persons looking them up.....they are big!!!Clutch is some good straight up rock n roll....not about the glam and commercial bullstuff...they seem to be just fine with what theyve done and how theyve done it
just seen them at house of blues in cleveland ohio. show was sold out. i bought some scalper tix two for a buck ten. me and my wife had a blast. i thought fuck it. not very often you get to see sum clutch. it was worth evrery penny.
Niel is so right I saw then at D fest in Tulsa last year and I don't know if Helmet thrashed the audio equipment before they took the stage or what but some speakers were blown and you could tell it was ruff on the band but they still managed to put on a hell of a show. Romsloney from the other comment is right they don't have a bad song but they pack in a loot of great stuff on every CD. I have em all and their prized possesions.

Just saw 'em in Tempe on 7/18 - fantastic show - if you have a chance, go see them. Played over 1/2 the new cd (which, only released 2 weeks ago, and I believe it is their best) - not a "weak"song on the entire cd. Whole thing is killer - no filler. Peppered the rest of the set with classic cuts from their 18 yr career.
I just saw them in atlantic city and there coming to philly sept 11...I go to they're shows when they're within a couple hr drive...and the new album is maybe the best 1 , I think

I toured with a band for 5 years.
Everything Neil is saying is true.
Our band rented all our equipment..
Funny Story:

So I went outside and ran 5 extensions cords and pluged them in to the Bus we had at the time. (1955 Touring Bus, with a 1986 electrical generator.)
Worked fine and we Rocked the House.
