@MrFreskie it's Ancient Dragon Wood Bow, which is pretty far in the game, expect to take about 4-5 times more time to take down one with a Dragon Bow Solar

@littledevilist In opinion, Tri is the worst MH. They were just to lazy to put in more monsters ( theres next to none ) more weapons ( there isnt Hunting horn, dual swords, gunlance, or bow ) and it needs like 1 or 2 more maps. Im very disapointed with tri compared to unite, portable 3rd and dos, frontier, you get it

@theFoffo90 Depends on how well you use your coatings. When I first started, I needed to farm all the time. But with practice on efficiency, I rarely have to spend (too) much on coatings.

i have got a question. because im normally a gs user, and am starting a another guy as a bowman.. what is considered good damage for a bow?

@hookedonhealth -- i always prefer using pierce + elementals...but it reallly depends. rapid is also good if you are aiming at the weak spots. pierce, if head-to-tail.

@hookedonhealth -- at first, starting bows are not that strong. you need to go through high ranks and obtain the best loots out there. using bows also need understanding--like the distance, elements, and circumstances.

bows are very useful when fighting large wyverns. they became target dummies.

dont forget coatings and power seeds.

You're using the Dragon Halo bow, right? How much longer would killing it take you if you were using Blue Blade Bow lv 1, do you think?

@IgnorantSyn -- it depends..depending on the monster level..but all monoblos are weak compared to diablos..in my experience, you can take down a monoblos (in the elder quest, not in the elder felyne) using your suggested weapon for about 8-13 mins..maybe you can do a lesser time.

in plain view, you can break horns, wings, fins of some monsters...however, that tail cutting is very very impossible, sorry to tell.

but some says it is, buy using cheats. i dont know how to...

oh and could you help me out no one else will, iv been trying to do some rank 2 rathalos quests in the guild hall so i can get a promenince bow and iv check some many times and the quest is not there you got any idea why thats happening..?

you can cut a monster's tail with melee, like the bow and bowgun melee. also, boomerangs. however, using the pierce, rapid or scatter attack, i think you can do that through cheats.

you can use the close range coating to cut tails with a bow.  But of course, you've got to be close range, and hit the tail.

no. it's a ninja set, i forgot the name though..but the materials in creating these armors can be harvested from fatalis. white fatalis i believe.
