  • AWESOME. And so true. I may just have fallen in love.

  • This video just made me subscribe to you

  • You remind me so much of Luna :)

  • Kinda wonder how she would react to Shane Dawson's Harry Potter videos...

  • Death is perhaps the 2nd biggest theme in literature after love.

  • Comment removed

  • The last movie has passed, and I just bought my ticket LeakyCon 2012 a few days ago! It will never be over :)

  • THANK YOU!! Just wow thank you! More people need to stand up for what Harry Potter actually means and stufffs

  • i know he people snog each other alot

  • i love you .

  • 2 things

    1. the way you feel about Harry Potter is exactly how i feel about Alice in Wonderland

    2. I'm a Christian and have nothing against Harry Potter

  • i applauded. just me?

  • I'm curious, when you move to England soon, do you think you will feel kind of 'closer' to Harry Potter?

  • I always get really angry when people call Harry Potter a childrens novel. It has so many levels, depths and topics, it has everything! People who refer to it as a childrens novel are not understanding it on all it's levels. Totally agree with you Kayley. Just realised I have just written exactly what you said lol sorry.

  • I'm really upset that my mom just let me start read/watch them this year. I know its not over but I missed going to a midnight premiere or stalking the read carpet at the movie premiere or watching it with everyone at leakycon. I've really gotten into it when a give part of its over...

  • It's just a childrens series. Okay... fine. It's a teen series.

  • youre really pretty :)

  • Am I a total pussy-wussy for tearing-up a little, at this? I'm not ready for to acknowledge that this series has ended.

  • It will never end !!!

Hogwarts will always be there to welcome us home :')

    <3 the videos btw Xx

  • amen to that.

  • Completion, not the end.

  • I applauded during the *Pause for Applause* part.

    I REGRET NOTHING.

  • All I can say to this is, Yes. You just said everything I've been trying to explain to people out of my circle of Harry Potter. Especially my mom. Harry Potter has been such a HUGE part of my life for the last 11 years and every now and then her friends or family tell her to make me stop reading it because it's "evil".

  • @ispeakbadger I never thought about that... Now I feel just...really bad for them. xD

  • I can't wait to see part 2, even though I've only seen one film and have read none of the books. When I was about 8 I tried reading the second one, then gave up. ;D

But I want to read them now. xD

  • @misszacefronable Books are way better then the movies they make out of em all most all the time. You should read them in order or most things won't make scence. Also if you are interested and just can't read the books there are always unabridged audio books out there :) I only have read the books haven't seen the movies yet.

  • @OccasionalVlogger Yeah, books are always better. I read 'Never Let Me Go' a few months ago, then saw the film last month and it was definatly better.

  • You're my hero for this vid. :)

Whoever said HP is a children's book in the first place? That's like claiming One Hundred Years of Solitude is a soap opera.

  • i love harry potter i love the books but the films have always been a dissapointment to me. i think your right hp will always live on, it will become a classic like lotr or the corincals of narnia in 50 years someone will re-do the films and start a whole new generation of the fandom this will be epic

  • Everything about Harry Potter seems the kind of thing I'd get obsessed over.

Same reasons I am so obsessed over Dr. Who, or even the Portal games.. all the interesting little things behind the main story, and symbolisms that you don't usually notice at first glance. I never got that with Harry Potter as much. I don't have a reason why not though. I feel genuinely disappointed in myself!

  • One of my friends said that Harry Potter was just a children's series.

Let's just say, I didn't take lightly to that.

  • extended essay, whats up.

  • you said whatever wrong ha

  • I didn't think it was a "common" misconception that JK is trying to turn kids to wicca...

  • btw u should meet my teacher, u'll get along well

  • I have not red it before, i like the percy jackson series though, and things they carried, and catcher in the rye

  • @Babytunque09 Catcher in the Rye IS LOVE. You should definitely read Harry Potter though! ASAP! (Not that they're alike, just both ridiculously outstanding.)

  • @LindaDulcinea i'lll try

  • You wrote "braces self" in the description box, and several of the suggessted videos to the right are about BRACES, :-D.

  • love is the most powerful magic of all.

Yeah you know where that line is from.

  • I will NEVER forget Harry Potter, but still the idea of the last film coming out is soooo sad. All the people who experiance Harry Potter after the last film are never going to understand what it was like growing up and each year having a new book or film coming out and having Harry Potter growing up along side you.

  • 02:13 YOU TELL 'EM, KID.

  • @owlssayhoot I would have to respectfully disagree. Although I grew up with the Harry Potter series and love the books to pieces, you can't just say that not enough modern lit touches upon the concept of death, because that's just not true. Is it a sensitive subject? Sometimes. But still, even children's books examine death. Narnia? Ender's Game? Even Hunger Games? The Harry Potter books are unique for an entirely different reason than that.

  • I agree

    I won't forget it either

Harry Potter is like one of the best things that happened to me

I would say the best thing is the love for reading I have obtained :D

  • You, my friend, are awesome! :D

Love the video and don't let the Harry Potter haters get you down!

    Keep calm and Wrock on!

  • Your videos are amazing and give me something to really think about :) This video really says a lot. Adding as a Favorite :)

  • You don't know Neville!! ;P BTW RAVENCLAW FTW!!!!

  • There is no hope for my future children. They must and will love Harry Potter. There's no way they can't. It will be ingrained (Sp?) into their lives so much!

  • Off all the youtubers I am subscribed to you are one of the most enjoyable to listen

AND all your videos have a meaning or a message. I love it ! Keep it up ! :)

  • love this video!!!

  • well this sucks, you just listed all the things i didnt see in harry potter, which made me realise two things

    1. that harry potter was alot better than i gave it credit for

    2. that i will never enjoy harry potter the way everyone else does because i dont see it through your eyes so i have missed out on something great and no matter how hard i try i dont get what everyone else does, maybe im just a complete idiot or something. but yeah, im glad someone enjoys it

  • I know how you feel about all the misconceptions.. many people think its going to end but but if not everyone that at least i know that me and you will be reading this series and showing it to our grand-kids. and i know walking out the screening on Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2.. i will droop into tears and use my popcorn pot as a bucket to collect the tears.. and i see that just the thought hurts. towards the end of the video you could see the tears in your eyes ;/ @owlssayhoot

  • Leave Harry Potter alone!!

  • this is one of my favourite videos for some reason XD

  • you said route wrong.

  • @iamvids I said it differently than you. That's not saying it wrong.

  • @owlssayhooot i know i was meaning it to be funny. sorry.

just a random question. what house are you in?

  • @iamvids No worries. Gryffindor.

  • @owlssayhooot -gives a look of pure amazement-. i really like gryffindor. the colours are epic. btw im a ravenclaw and according to luke conards new veda i eat books. -sighs-

  • My dad has been lobbying our school board to create a lit class that only reads and examines Harry Potter

  • @newenglandchick95 YES. that would be such a win!

  • Harry Potter is not just a book or a movie. It's a lifestyle.

  • love it love it love it!

i agreed with EVERYTHING you said!

i hate when people think that Harry Potter is a passing phrase or just a kids story. i hate when people make me feel like i should be ashamed about LOVING the series and rereading it because, i think its the most moral story that i will ever read, and like you, i just get more out of it everytime i go back through them, and i will definately start reading it to my kids

Thanks for posting this-i will show it to my nonpotter friends

  • Neville is my favorite fictional man, I will forever love and want to marry Neville Longbottom.

  • When you said "Pause for applause." I clapped.

  • Hufflepuff!

  • description=THE TRUTH! god i love the end :)

i have friends who seriously think like this, they won't read the series or even allow anyone to make them think that the series is more than just another passing, suckish trend. they will not allow this thought to even enter their minds.

their argument "well, i didn't totally love and get the one movie that i saw, so all of the books must be total garbage."

    oh. my. gosh.

    don't make me strangle you.

    i mean srsly, they're british! i <3 England :L

  • With you on Neville: truly, one of the bravest men I ever knew! Neville always had the guts- he proved himself by standing up to his friends. (10 pts to Gryffindor!) He is brilliant in Herbology and DADA. No one does well in potions under the baleful gaze of a terrifying teacher. When it REALLY counts, Harry always found that he was not just part of a trio but a sextet: Neville, Luna and Ginny would always be synonymous with Ron and Hermione. Thank you Jo, for everything!

  • With you on Neville: truly, one of the bravest men I ever knew!

  • "There is no way that I'm going to let these experiences just fade away."

I took the 'no way' as a AVPS reference :p

  • this srsly gave me goosebumps

  • Lol just as you said, "Pause for applause" my phone rang xD

  • HELL YES high five lol *subscribe*

  • amen

  • I wish I could get my friends to watch this video because they are all ignorant Twilight fans that think Harry potter is just a bunch of kids waving wands. I just don't have the patience or self control to explain it to them. Oh well, their loss.

  • Saying something is children's literature isn't saying it's simplistic or does delve into to issues deeply, it just means that the books are written with children in mind. I would say that is definitely true of the Harry Potter books. I think getting offended about that fact just denigrates all the awesome children's books out there.

  • I like Harry potter but have never come around to reading the books... I think it's just to late to read when I have watched them through

  • @sushiisawesomeXD You are sooo wrong if you love Harry Potter as you say you do, you seriously need to read the books! The films don't do the stories justice, they miss out important areas and some of the aspects, I and many other nerds love about each individual character.

  • @sushiisawesomeXD It's not too late, trust me. I saw the first 5 movies before I read the books and they felt just as amazing and magical. That's the best thing about books like HP. :)

  • Harry Potter is something every teenager (if they like it) will keep in their hearts forever. For me, Harry Potter has changed my mind.

  • lol why do people get upset about harry potter being called childrens books i always thought of it as books for children and still enjoyed it and at least the first two are obviously written for children

  • Kayley, I must say, you are my idol. HARRY POTTER FOREVER!!!

  • I have to say, that was the most amazing video I have ever seen. I recently finished reading the series for the seventh time. Also, I love the ending quote. So true. Harry Potter will go on forever.

  • harry potter is not a part of my childhood.

it IS my childhood, (and the rest of my life too!)

  • hahaha she reminds me of feebe...from friends?.... you know that epic seri... you know what never mind, shes still hot.

  • I love Harry Potter soo much u have gone through 3 copies of the books because i have read them so much :)

  • Well. I think we need to be best friends. Harry Potter is my LIFE! Plus, I enjoy pretty much everything else you talk about in your other videos.

  • @Timothy7384 Try READING, not watching.

  • Comment removed

  • @Timothy7384

Yes, reading a book every now and then might improve your horrible grammar and spelling as well.

  • Comment removed

  • @Timothy7384 Also could you try using better grammar?

  • Comment removed

  • @Timothy7384 omg that was like the best comeback ever *peppy schoolgirl voice* what are you kid 10 jeeze it's not like they said anything mean just that your grammar wasn't all that great

  • There is so much passion in your voice when you're saying al of this. Touching.....

  • harry potter will live forever, twilight on the other hand is already fading and they haven't even been going for very long

  • I totally agree but who is Lauren Malroy?X

  • I nodded throught the whole video :D

  • You are so right!!! I discover new things every time too... like I was reading Order of The Phoenix and when they have the DA meeting in The Hogs Head it says that Harry thinks that the bartender looks familiar... It Aberforth!!! I love Harry Potter and it will never die- it will go on and on and on and on :D :D :D

  • I just want to give you a high five cause I have NO words to describe this feeling. You just said some of the many things I think anyone who actually is a part of the Harry Potter "haters" should hear. Seriously. (:

  • 15 people fainted because they love Harry Potter so much and accidentally hit the dilslike button.

  • Matthew 6:21 :D

  • Forgot spell check, sorry :)

  • That was great, makes me want to read the books all over again :) This might seem like a fanish comment, but there are actual Harry Potter haters (as oppossed to those who simply don't like the series)? Twilight I can understand (no offence to any fans out there), but Harry Potter?

  • This literally gave me chills at the end. :) You are made of awesome.

  • mmm. i clapped when you said pause for applause . XD

  • I practice wicca ♥

  • i love this video.

  • Harry Potter is my bible.

  • Amen Sister.

  • Harry Potter fans are much more articulate and intelligent than Twilight fans. Thanks, @owlssayhooot

  • are you seriously trying to imply that Harry Potter handles the subject of death in a way that no other novel does? really? You say you've read a lot of books but I don't believe you. Yes it handles the subject brilliantly and it's emotional but so are other books- don't be so narrow minded.

lots of people love Harry Potter- stop thinking you're so special because you decided to make videos about it.

  • @RomeosJuliet You seem to be taking this very personally.

I don't think she said that Harry Potter handles the theme of death in a way that no other novel does. She said that she has read a lot of novels that glaze over the subject of death. Key words: A LOT. She didn't say that EVERY novel she's read has handled death less effectively than HP.

I'm all for expressing your own opinions on the web - until it becomes insulting and mean-spirited toward someone who was doing the same.

  • @RomeosJuliet did you not notice her use of the words "very rarely", "a lot" and "tend to"? she doesn't say death isn't shown in the same way in ANY other novel. Goodness try listening. She isn't being narrow minded, if she was, why would she read any other books than harry potter in the first place? Oh wait, thats right, according to you, she hasn't read a lot of other books. Why the heck would she make that up?

Also i doubt you know her feelings on how special she is, so don't attack her, gosh

  • @RomeosJuliet Shut the fuck up you bitch! Nobody wants you to and intolerant asshole like you! STFU and GTFO!

  • @HermioneTimeLord46 ...You're comment is really intolerant. That's not the way to be awesome.

  • @someone332 If you're going to correct me, check your grammar.

  • @HermioneTimeLord46 That's not the freaking point. Being a nerdfighter is being tolerant of other people's opinions. Just throwing flames isn't going to get anyone anywhere. It just makes things worse.

  • @someone332 Well, who's not being tolerant of my opinion? And who said I was a nerdfighter? Wow, major fail.

  • @HermioneTimeLord46 But "nobody wants you to and intolerant asshole like you!" is not grammatically correct, nor opinion. I'm not saying they're correct by any means, because I disagree with their statement, however, I do not believe that way is the way to respond to such a situation. I mean, people should only do things on the Internet they would do in real life, or that's just cowardly and demeaning, frankly. If you treat people like that in real life, I feel sorry for them. :/

  • touching

  • You know what annoys me? The fact that three people sat in front of me yesterday and said:

    1. In prizoner of askaban, it was his father on the stag. IT WASN'T, IT WAS HARRY and you can even see that when he goes back into the past. And he even says it to Hermione on Buckbeat.

    2. In deathly hallows, it wasn't a patronus, it was just a real doe. IT WAS A PATRONUS.

Argh. And they insisted they were right. It was so unbelievably annoying.

  • thats it. subcribed.

  • I'm a Christian, and I think Harry Potter is the BEST EVER! ....I go to a Christian school were these books are not even aloud to be read. They miss so much in these books in my opinion because of the witchcraft thing. BUT WHATEVER. Whitchcraft is bad...and I will never take part of it because I love my Savior. but you got to look at all the good things in this book as well. THUMBS UP FOR THIS VIDEO!

  • @OwlKatyMusic I'm so glad you said that. Someone I'm really close to was just like "Oh, it's about magic. That's bad." And will not take into account the amazing storyline and the meaning behind all of it. It's a bit frustrating. So then I mention something about it, and he never knows what I mean, and doesn't really care. Oh well.

  • Harry Potter will NEVER end. My grandchildren will love these books.

  • saying J.K Rowling is the devil is going to far...she is actually in league with the devil using her books to introduce satanism and witchcraft to the children of america. ;)

I like this video, I love Harry Potter and my children will all like Harry Potter, I read it to my 4 year old Niece and she absolutely loves it, she even tried to read it when I wasn't there. I will never forget Harry Potter, and I won't let it be forgotten...

  • you are brilliant.

  • new favorite youtuber. literally say the SAME THINGS about hp that you just did.

  • sometime we should get together and discuss Harry Potter... I'm also extremely nerdy (i'm hoping to go to London for the DH part 2 premiere)

  • I thought the torchwoods franchise was very dark and desturbing it seems to be something that british narrative is less afraid to delve into with Being Human also going into the idea that life after death isnt at all peaceful

  • I love you sooo much! This was amazing. Thank you!

  • LOL! It's a children's novel!

  • @selenaashley1 wasn't that AmyPond2010 account closed? Plus I saw on your profile that this Amy person apologized to you. I'm pretty sure Kayley has better things to do with her time than to troll other channels. Plus I doubt that she's that kind of person anyway, judging by her videos.

Considering AmyPond 2010 apologized to you a month ago, you should let it go. It's immature to hold a grudge.

  • Can I just say.. THANK YOU. <3

I could not agree more. I've written about something similar to this, but you've stated everything perfectly. (:

  • Harry Potter will live on forever. It is one of those timeless classics that will spread it's magic from generation to generation. I am proud to say that I was able to see it blossom into this cult following. It has made so much history and this generation has had the wonderful pleasure of watching it grow from its inception. I am so excited that I will be able to share this with my kids and grand kids in the future. And for that I say THANK YOU J.K. Rowling!

  • @MsRocknReagan j.k rowlings such a milf

  • Comment removed

  • POTTERHEADS UNITE.

  • I actually think one of the main things that turn people off of the series is the length, not just magic wands. Just saying.

  • So I just started this video and I got to the pause for applause part and my stepmom started clapping at the basketball game in the other room and didn't stop until you started talking again. It made me laugh

  • One thing people never believe me about the harry potter series is that Dumbledore has a scar of the map of the london underground above his left knee.

I SWEAR ITS TRUE. Its totally in the first few chapters of the first book.

  • @SkitzMitz I'm reading the first book now, its on page 15 :) It's true haha

  • @SkitzMitz There are people who -don't- know that? >>

  • @SkitzMitz Oh! I totally remember that! 8D

  • I've got two words for you on the potential longevity of Harry Potter: Star...Trek. Four more words: Back...To...The...Future. Four more words past that: Go... Go... Power... Rangers... Star Trek had spin offs up until 2005 (movie in 09) BTTF just got Blu-Ray'd on it's 25th Anniversary. And Power Rangers mysteriously is back in the original creator's hands. Harry Potter was released in 1997 (UK) and have the final film released next year. It'll be around for awhile afterwards though.
  • I was sad when one of the slimiest lowlifes in the Harry Potter series (to my knowledge -- I haven't read to the end -- don't hate me) was named Pettigrew as that is my mother's maiden name, and my son is partially named after his Grandpa Pettigrew. Makes me wonder which of my distant relatives (from Scotland?) ticked off JK Rowling in some way. Eek! LOL

  • Harry Potter has grown to be one of the hugest things in my life and is always going to be a major part of me. I think without it I would be a compleatly different person. It improved my personality so much, it made me more tolerant and more accepting towards other people. It made me understand the matter of love and kindness and bravery.

I'd be an ugly bitch, and with ugly I mean ugly inside.

Harry Potter is the reason for the world. Why did god create the world? so that Jo could write this.

  • It has absolutely nothing to do with wicca. There is a huge line of difference between hp magic and wicca. And even so, what's wrong with wicca?? Absolutely nothing. It's as much as a religion as anything else.

  • got into it, got out of it, got over it...

  • think about shakespear, edgar allen poe, star wars, the beetles, and so many other culture and literture legends. There is no end. It's like a line. It extends forever and the legacy will never end.

  • I got chills when you started talking about how Harry will never end...and he never will.

The Neville quote got me weak. xD

  • Harry Potter will live on FOREVER!!! It is my LIFE! All the misconceptions are wrong and I totally agree with you.

Btw, you are amazing I love your vids :)

  • Outside of marketing purposes, I don't see why we have to label/debate over Harry Potter as a children/adult series. Actually, that goes for many books -- why do they have to be "adult fiction" or "children's books?" Why can't they just be books? Many novels, the Harry Potter series included, transcend age and can be as meaningful to a 60 year as to a 10 year old. Why does it matter?

  • Ahem... "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH" "AND THAT'S THE SECOND TIME WE'VE SAVED YOUR LIFE TONIGHT YOU TWO-FACED BASTARD"

    Children's novel... I think not.

  • @Emigmatiic u talking to me

  • @selenaashley1 no... no i'm not.

They're quotes from the last Harry Potter book... *facepalm*

But I just saw your previous comments and I can say... YOU ARE A RIGHT TWAT FOR MAKING FUN OF KAYLEY!!!

  • @Emigmatiic she made fun of me thats why i did it

  • @selenaashley1 I've don't recall ever saying anything to you. But you should keep your hateful comments off my channel, 'cause it's a loving community around here and no one needs your name-calling kthanks.

  • @selenaashley1 when did she make fun of you? lol? I was quoting the harry potter books and all of a sudden i'm caught up in something that didn't even happen.

Leave Kayley alone and leave me alone - It's taking away from the brilliantness of the video. kthxbye

  • @Emigmatiic she was going to mine and other peoples videos making fun of people

  • @selenaashley1 Are you serious? I think you have the wrong person. I don't waste my time trolling on peoples videos. I've never even seen your videos.

  • @owlssayhooot i was talking to somone else

  • @selenaashley1 I very much doubt that. All i'm doing is sticking up for one of my favourite youtubers. I don't really care whether or not you think she made fun of you on your videos or not - because we all know that's bullshit. Get a life and stop hating on Kayley.

  • @selenaashley1 I just went onto all of your videos and none of them have comments apart from from you saying "read the description"

  • @Emigmatiic well think about this why would i let peoples rude coments in my videos.which means i erased them
