What I love about Down is that you don't instantly get into them. It takes quite a bit of listening before you start to understand them and develop an appreciation for that kind of style. Check out Phil's Loyola Marymount appearance where he openly and candidly discusses his Heroin addiction. It should be required viewing for young people who think drug use is harmless and that they will be immune to the same addictions. A must see.

Down and Philip delivers bonechilling tunes everytime, all though i prefer PanterA because dime(R.I.P.) was/is the greatest guitar player i`ve ever heard in the metall scene, and i have played guitar myself for 26 years, so i can relate to the guitarist in a band more than the rest, but "Hail to Phil" he still got the ultimate power groove metall voice, the other growling wannabes can eat his sack. @DIMEZELMOZFIRE It comes down to this (no pun intended) You can't really compare Pantera & Down as Pantera is Groove Metal & Down is Sludge/Southern Metal and there's a lot of people who will tell you to ignore subgenres as metal is metal but once you start to listen for the characteristics which define each subgenre you can hear the difference.

donno, .. theres a lot of funny comments but the generic ones just seem to be getting out of hand when users realize its gets them brownie points which dont even count. for example you could go to other down songs to the right of here such as "lifer" and say something really lame such as "(insert number of negatives here) number of people need to get a life" or for "where Im going" (X number) of people hate being lost"
but Im sorry I didnt mean to be a dick about it and single ..
