@MrAlexfishing Not nearly as good as fresh caught. In fact, I have had zero success with store bought shad, but if it's all you have...give it a try. I would use chicken livers before the store bought shad!
Alright, so I have these croaker that I bought from the store. Could I use that has Catfish bait? Do you think Catfish would hit it? You know, the croaker that live in the ocean. You think using those would work?
@ncmpracer13 It may work, but fresh Mackerel works VERY well! Also, raw shrimp works great too! In southern California, fresh mackerel is the big craze!

that is way bigger than the shad around me..we get them that bigg but we always catch 5 inchers in a cast net
