READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO FIX UR IPOD FOR FREE. To make a long story short i dropped my 2g ipod touch in a river and it became unresponsive to touch as shown in the video above. After researching on possible ways to fix it, I decided to use a butter knife to pop my screen off and see if maybe the digitizer got shifted or something. After undoing all the brackets on the sides to pop the screen off, i slid my finger across and noticed it was responsive again. I didn't even have to remove the screen

you gotta buy a new screen it should come with a tool pop the screen there should be an orange cable put the cable back in or u have to install a new screen if orange wire busted

Press the TOP botton and the HOME botton. KEEP PRESSING until you see the APPLE SIGN. Don't be fooled when it goes BLACK. KEEP PRESSING until you see the APPLE BOTTON, and then, it will work.

Dude, even itf it's a HARDWARE problem, it will still work! DUDE, it worked WITH EVERYONE! you are doing it WRONG. PRESS ON THE MENU and THE TOP BUTTON TOGETHER FOR LIKE 10 SECONDS, until you see the apple sign. If you are pressing for couple seconds, and nothing happens, it's because you are doing it wrong! KEEP PRESSING until you see the APPLE sign!

The only thing left to do is replace the screen. You could do it yourself. I did it before, but if u dont want to do that then take it to apple. The bad thing is that it is exspensive. so if i were u just buy another one. but i would fix it myself.

yeah the same happend to me. I was playing a game on my itouch and i had low battery, so i stoped and pluged it in, when i pluged it, it completly froze up. the screen was unresponsive, i pluged it to my computer and i charged it but nothing happned? what should i do? does rebooting it work? how does something like this happen if i did nothing to my perfectly working ipod?

mine too might be a problem cause mine gets stuck on the pazzword part and doesnt turn off and the battery wont die
