@Rockstar212911 My TV didn't include any 3D glasses. You can purchase the Samsung 3D glasses seperate, but I don't know if they are bluetooth/infrared.
do you have any problems with burn in? i want the pn51d7000 like yours but im a avid gamer and im afraid if i play to much ill have problems, do you play cod alot on that tv? let me know if i should get this gaming
@Killbosa14 No problems with burn in, just slight image retention that goes away after a while. I recommend this TV, colors are perfect, viewing angle is perfect, and response time is quite excellent. My only complaint is that I didn't get the 59" version, lol.
@NuVega5 i really want the 7000 but the best buy around my area is all out of the 7000 seres, they only have the 8000 which is like 300 more $. and ya im just a littler nervious for burn in because ive never owned a plasma just a lcd, also is there bad glare?
@Killbosa14 Minimal glare, both the 7000 and 8000 have a filter that absorbs light so to speak. Its glass so your going to get a little glare no matter what, but I wouldn't recommend having the TV facing a window, to the side or behind the TV( my current setup ) will be fine.
@NuVega5 sweet man thanks for answering my questions it helped alot i really appreciate it, add me will play some cod, killbosa1.. have a good one bro, late.
Ya i got the Led tv.. And tired of the bleeding and ripple effect when i watch fast pace blu rays.. Im switching to plasma. Led and lcd isnt for me and my brother has a samsung plasma and movies on there just make my tv look like crap compared to his. Im just undecided which plasma model to go with. I want to stay in the 50+ range i have a 55" led samsung and sticking with samsung
One more thing. Ive researched both Tvs and the Samsung plasma 8000 is said to be the best tv out so far. the picture is the best with channel and blu-ray. You just have to get over the 60 hxz gaming thing - ive never heard of this problem till you brought it up. Just wanted you to know that from the reviews and what ive heard and having the LED myself, Ive heard the picture for the PLasma is better. Just fyi before you switch. I kinda want the plasma over my LED.
I have the 8000 55" LED Samsung & it is great but there is a BIG flaw on this one as well. It's called "BACKLIGHT BLEED." Look up vids on youtube & you will find it. LEDs are having a big problem with this. So its pick your poison. I've contemplated selling the 240hz LED for this 8000 Plasma. The LED looks great except when that backlight bleed comes in all the dark scenes are brutal to a point it looks like the tv is worn out. Also has a "soup opera" look to channels.
@NoKittyKitty The bleeding and off-angle picture quality is one of the main reasons why I chose plasma over LCD and LED...better black level, excellent colors, and simple fact that I can sit literally parallel with the TV and still view it the same as if I was sitting right in front.
Only problem I'm having is the sizes in Plasma. The 51 is too small and the 59 is too big. My 55'' is absolutely perfect. If the plasma was in 55" I would have already sold the LED and purchased the Plasma.
When panning left or right, do you notice and motion blur or trailing image. I tried several games and I get motion blur or trailing image where there is two images of the same item and the entire background becomes a big blur.
@reddsimpson Here is a video of me turning left and right. About half way through it i pan slower and everything is just a big blur. youtube.com/watch?v=xWp-voUcTLY
@reddsimpson Yeah I see what your talking about...hmm. I re-watched my video, though moving faster, I couldn't detect any blur, or while playing real time. I have Cinema Smooth on too, but for games its disabled, at least in my case. Not sure whats up.
How is your image retention and burn in? I guarantee you can't play games on these Samsung plasma's as burn in is still an issue. See AVS forums for more information. Burn in is not covered by the Samsung warranty.
@Cypherus21 Well Its been 8 months since I bought this TV, and it's burn-in free and image retention goes away rather quickly. As long as you have pixel shift activated you should be alright, and for the really bad retention you can use the scroll feature and it goes away. I have no complaints at all
Good to hear you have had no issues. I had a network logo burnt into my D6500. I ran the scrolling feature for 4 days straight and it removed about 80% of the retention. 20% remains as a burn in although the average person can't see it unless they looked hard for it. Not too sure what to think about Plasmas after this experience but will just move on and try to enjoy it.
In other words, smooth motion display won't happen with regular games. It stay stuck at 60 hz and that 600hz is bs. That's just great. Back to best buy I go and exchange this plasma for a 240hz led tv.
I got this tv today but for reason unknown it won't let me use cinema smooth with my Xbox 360 and playstation 3. Any suggestion to fix this before it goes back to best buy?
@kikayei Xbox and PS3 games, if that is what your referring to, don't display at 24Hz or 24fps, Blu Ray movies do...so when your playing a game the Cinema Mode will default to off, pop in a Blu Ray movie or any HD content that can runs in 24Hz, and you'll see it active in the menu and able to switch Cinema mode on or off.
@Packer8503 No, I thought I would, but I don't, all natural looking. My last Sony LCD had that effect, it was ok, but prefer the natural smooth look and motion on this plasma.
@serpentinessarecute I don't have burn-in issues, but sometimes temporary image retention when playing a game with static HUDs or watching a movie with bars at the top and bottom. They go away after awhile watching normal programming, but they don't stay stuck on the screen.
@NuVega5 If you're using movie mode in this video im jealous! I have a panasonic plasma and cinema mode makes the colors super muted and a very very VERY dim picture. I've always been a samsung guy and tried panasonic this time, and now I wish I would've bought samsung again after watchin your video. :(
@jables13 Yeah, movie mode then fine tuned the settings, my TV is actually set for mostly watching movies and I just leave it in movie/cinema mode when playing games.
Can you please give us a bit more impressions on your gaming experience on this TV. I am going to get it in a couple weeks. Is this your first plasma? This would be my first plasma. I am replacing a 4 years old Samsung 40" LCD, a great set to this date.
As an avid gamer I am interested to learn more about gaming on plasma. The TV main use will be gaming and movies in controlled light room. Thank you.
@unity2012 This is my second plasma, first was a 720p Samsung, and LCD Sony before that. Gaming on this TV is great, there isn't any input lag, motion blur, etc...the only thing to watch out for is keeping a static image on the screen for a long time, for example a game on pause, may cause slight image retention. This TV has a scrolling feature but I don't use it, just turn it on a movie or regular TV and it'll go away if you even notice it. I highly recommend this TV, or any plasma of the same
@QUIKKSTAR Very low, unless you got this TV fully surrounded by windows...TV has a black filter, new for this model, which is suppose to absorb glare, guess it works because im not complaining.
@NuVega5 thanks! picking up same set soon... did you wait and break tv in at all or just game soon as you got it? and do you watch widescreen movies fine? sorry for all the questions
@randolphleblanc No break in period, just played, lol. TV has a scrolling feature if you get a little burn in, but compared to my last plasma the burn in, if any, can't be seen. Yeah, I watch widescreen movies, sometimes get the horizontal lines top and bottom but they vanish quickly.
Although the led/lcd's are bridging the picture/color/contrast gap, you still can't top plasma's. As long as your comparing comparable units, the only advantage lcd/led's have is: more energy efficient and less reflective screens. If you are a tree hugger, get a lcd. You want better picture quality, get a plasma.

Plasma tvs are the best you can get, my 51" samsung 720p plasma wipes the floor with my 40" 1080p lcd.
The colour is better, brighter, true blacks, and new models dont suffer from screen burn, lcd on the other hand is poor in comparison.
